Hello! I am soooooooo super duper excited! If ya don't know me, I'm Kat!:wave2:
Here's me & DH from our Honeymoon to WDW (one of my fav pics EVER!)
http://img124.imageshack.us/img124/4228/4agf4.jpg

Just a few short days ago I was surfing the wonderful DISboards and I was checking out a great TR by Fairy_Tale_Bride (Check it out here) (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1589243) and she has some great pics from Epcot's Food & Wine Festival...so offhandedly I show said pictures to my DH(KC). We love to eat, and to try new foods so i thought he'd enjoy the pics. He enjoyed them so much he told me to price a long weekend so we could go see F&W for ourselves!!! Being the good wife I am, I run to the computer and price...
We mull it over all night long, i price and re price and check flights and blah blah blah. I decide in the night that we shouldn't do it! Yea I know! I plead temporary insanity!! We can just about afford it so it was workable but I needed to work some thrifty (never cheap) magic.

Originally we tried for a weekend but it was so much for a flight that we changed our minds to make it a Wed-Sat morning. I continue pricing and asking DH questions and he tells me to book Pop if we can get it, as a room only, so we can get the $ back with no problems if he can't get the time off of work. So Pop was booked. We'll worry about everything else later. He says we are 80% going. I'm banking on that percent increasing...

THEN we got a letter today from the school he just graduated from, saying his graduation ceremony is November 1st- right smack in the middle of our little trip! After a little discussion he says he can deal with missing it because he'd rather go to WDW! (does he ROCK or what!?). I make sure he has no regrets, and he assures me he is ok with it. It's a trade school so it isn't as much a deal as a university or something else...so he will get the diploma in the mail and thats that!

Until an hour ago we were still up in the air....until I was reading another TR (can we all tell what I do with my time!) by WDW Poly Princess (HERE) (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1397759) and a fellow DISer posted a GREAT deal on Orbitz...so off I went...

Turns out I can get a room at CBR (one of the only places we haven't stayed) for $20 LESS than the room we already have booked at Pop!! The catch is that its non refundable so I mention it to DH who simply says "Book it." and continues playing his video games. SO...

I BOOKED IT!

We are officially going to WDW 3 months ahead of the next trip, for 3 night and 4 days!!!!!

The only crazy thing-it's in 3 weeks! Hello!? I am dramatizing the planning of the Jan trip now- 3 mere weeks is going to be a mad rush BUT I am going to love EVERY SINGLE MINUTE!

SO it's just DH pirate: & Me princess: at CBR from Halloween Night until the monring of Nov 3rd. Guess what Nov 2nd is? MNSSHP! I know, it's after Halloween but WHATEVER I still can't wait! I ahve never been to any of these type of parties and I'm so excited!

I'm off to book a flight...more info when I book the rest!

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!:woohoo:

Hey Kat, I followed the link that you posted on the chat thread (pimping pays off;) :lmao: )

Sounds like a nice fun trip. Hopefully you don't stress yourself out too much with the last minute planning.

MNSSHP looks like a lot of fun, you are going to have a blast!

OK! I just got us a decent deal on flights! Jet blue is having $79 each way flights sale, I only got it one way (the other was $119 but the time was better) still all in all with only 3 weeks-> a good deal!

YAY! No turning back now! :woohoo:

I swear I am still in serious shock that MY DH, who always wants to go somewhere tropical, wanted to go to WDW for the 4th time in 3 years!!

I am waiting on buying tickets and trying to find some good deals...we are only going to get a 2 day no park hopper ticket. We are trying to keep things as scaled down as we can.

I have a few questions I'm hoping someone can answer for me...

1) Can I still get ME booked since it wasn't booked thru Disney even tho it's a Disney hotel?

2) Where should we go our first day?? We are going mostly for F&W so we are doing our full day there, but do we ONLY do Epcot or should be try another park(MGM maybe?) (we are going to MNSSHP too so MK is covered!)

3) Any ideas on a quick costume for me & DH to throw together??? I want something that is the same theme ya know, but easy to pack too!

This is the plan as we have been discussing for the last few days:

Wed October 31st - Arrive MCO 11am, at resort by noon (here's hopin') and check in. head to *Insert Park Here*.
(if we do decide on Epcot DH wants to eat at Biergarten if MGM maybe we will do Sci Fi). Stop back at hotel maybe before going out for the night to DTD. Get 1 club passes to head to AdvClub (hopefully running into some DISers) and hang around enjoying the festivities.
Thurs November 1st - Up and out early! To Epcot. Do FW rides until F&W opens up and "graze" around all day and enjoy the event. Maybe mid day break but returning for more F&W and Illuminations. Back to hotel.
Friday November 2nd - Breakfast @ Kona (never been). Meet up with my long lost friend, L for a quick afternoon reunion. Then at 4pm to MK and head on in...eat CHH for dinner and attend MNSSHP!
Saturday November 3rd- sleep in, relax. 1:30pm flight home.

How does that look?

Hi Kat,

OK, I always listen to my fellow Fockers, especially when they pimp their TR's;) :lmao:

Looks great so far. I personally would pick AK over MGM. MGM always winds up being a 1/2 day park for us.

Didn't realize you were from Brooklyn. My family is orginally from there via Italy....She was born on Mott Street. Never been, but now that I am working on the family tree it's a place I want to visit.......

I'm sort of getting over the shock but not really LOL It's hard to believe the man who swore we would go somewhere tropical next time on vacation wanted this trip!

I think we decided to do Epcot both days, just so we can surely catch everything F&W has to offer! Besides in 3 months we will be in all the parks for 10 days so it's all gravy to me!!!

I am actually originally from Long Island but have lived in Brooklyn (or somewhere in the "city") for almost 10 years now. My hubby , however is born and bred Brooklyn boy! It's such a great place to live, there is always SO much to do!

Get 1 club passes to head to AdvClub (hopefully running into some DISers) and hang around enjoying the festivities.[/COLOR]

Sadly, the one club pass won't work for the AC, you have to do the multi. But so worth it! (Do you have an AP? If not, and if you want, you can give me a call when you get there, and I can come down to get you the AP discount on the tickets! It's only a few $, but hey, a discount is always good!)

For your costumes, I of course vote: pirate:

I may just take you up on that offer! We def wanna do the ADV Club, we've been kicking ourselves that we haven't been before and DH is really into the idea and this is his trip after all!

I think we have decided to be a referee and a soccer player. We may not even dress up on Halloween , just for MNSSHP, I dunno. It seems the easiest and cheapest way to go. DH was actually all about the pirate idea BUT its expensive with this little time to get together a costume.

Hopefully a planning update soon..today maybe tomorrow!

Ok am slowly catching up on all my TRs. Sounds like a wonderful plan though. I would've said stop by that other park that shall not be named because they have a pretty fun Halloween Horror Nights thing, but you're arriving on Halloween and that park gets totally crazy on that day, so uh nixing that plan. I like the 2 Epcot days and you could always get PH option and hop over to MGM or vice versa. :confused3

Can't wait to read all about it!! popcorn::

We struggled with getting the hopper or not but this time it doesn't seem worth it. I figure it will take us 2 days to get thru all the F&W booths and Epcot is pretty much our fav place to hang out in WDW so , for now anyways, I'm happy with the choice.

For anyone who is reading my other TR for our Jan 08 trip, you know about my long lost friend who I will call "L", if not here's a short recap...

She and I haven't seen each other in 8 years. We went to school together briefly in Junior High and were inseparable until we lost touch 8 years ago. By some random stroke of luck I found her via myspace and classmates.com and we have been talking for probably 4 months or so now. She and her daughter "H" are planning on coming and spending a 3 days with us for the Jan trip.

Well since we are going to be in Florida and an hour or so away from her--she and her daughter are coming to see us!!!! They are actually going to come to MNSSHP on Nov 2nd with us and stay the night!

I am so excited, it's been so long and I only met H when she was 6 months old. She bought her tickets today and H is all excited to trick or treat in WDW! So instead of waiting 3 months to see her I get to see her in a little over 2 weeks! YAY!

This week is going to be nutso, I have tons of things to do! I started playing around with things to do with my LGMHs. I got together all our travel size stuff. After Wed (we are having some friends over) I'm getting out the suitcase and starting to pack so I can make sure the laundry is done before we go. The weather here is getting chilly so I'm happy to be heading for nicer weather!

Anyways thats all for now.....

15 days!!!!!!!

Well today is the day of "get off your butt and start packing"! 10 days to go. I'm an over packer and an over thinker and I wanna make sure I have time to get any last minute stuff!

In my head I have all kinds of good ideas of things to pack. LOL. Now i actually have to get the suitcase out. I found we have about a TON of travel size stuff so no need for new stuff there! I am not checking luggage this time. It;s only 3 days so our smallest carry on size rolling bag will work and the matching duffel bag and a carry on for me. If i need more than that I probably shouldn't pack it!

I am also making a bag of Disney goodies for L's daughter, H. I'll take some pics during the day of all the stuff and be back later to continue this update....

Happy Sunday all!

Well I managed to clean out the closet and get together most of the stuff that aren't clothes to pack. Getting out the suitcase was the starter and I actually got around to getting to it!

Here is the mess at the beginning...
http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/7048/img4512yl0.jpg

this is the stuff for H...I just need to get a gift bag to put them in. I couldn't resist all the cute stuff!!!
http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/6715/img4513bq1.jpg

This is the beginning of whats going into my carry on bag...this is my fav Tink bag!
http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/9645/img4515fn2.jpg

This is the end result...so far anyways.
http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/1584/img4516zh8.jpg

After the last pic was taken I just kinda shoved everything into the suitcase and left it on the floor. LOL. I did more than I thought I'd do today so it was enough for me!

I have yet to show DH the labels I put on all the travel size bottles with no stickers. (you can see them on a few of the small bottles in my trusty quart size zip-lock)He's the one who bought me the label maker (and i sooo wanted one) yet he teases me about labeling things. He always tells me that one day and he will come home and I will have labeled the cat!

I also printed out all our confirmation emails and some goodies from TGM for the MNSSHP.

Since I'm new to TGM - can someone tell me if i can get an itinerary for an early morning at FW? I got TGM for our Jan trip but I'd love to figure out how to minimize waiting on the morning for F&W since we will not be hopping. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

And in a half an hour it will be...
:cool1:  9 days! Single Digits! :cool1:

OK the costumes are done! YAY! We weren't really sure if we were going to dress up or not but it's Halloween and its Disney so what the heck!!!!

here's my attempt to take a pic of the outfits we'll be wearing....

http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/337/img4524ee1.jpg

Excuse nosy Bale for sitting his fuzzy butt all up in my pic!

I think he wants to become the official mascot of TFW! I got a regular lanyard for the whistle but thought it was more fitting to use the TFW one!

http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/7964/img4525ay7.jpg

A quick trip to Models for the shorts for KC and the whistle for me and we are in business! I wanted something easy to maneuver in that wouldn't be an issue all night and these were easy and i think pretty cute! DH used to play soccer in high school and I was the pro wrestling referee so it works out well! (the ref shirt was used many a time for matches i refereed).

I made up H's gift bag and have gathered some more crap for the suitcase. Tomorrow I will be doing the actual clothes while waiting for the FedEx guy who's bringing my new Ipod! YAY! Disney music for the trip!

Have a good night all!

=Here's a recap for anyone who hasn't read my post on the TFW thread....

"OK I have the best story EVER!!
DH just graduated from school for Computer Networking. he busted his batootie for 2 years and has since had to take a cruddy job fixing pc's in Circuit City, which he hates but we need the $$. His school promised to send him on interviews and he has only been on one so far, which went well but he never got a call back.
This morning was interview #2. I think he was kind of discouraged since the last one didn't work out...but he asked my help in getting dressed. (they told him NO suit just a polo and pants was fine) so I pick out his orange Mickey Polo and tell him if nothing else it's a cool conversation starter! Well it was!!!
The guy interviewing him asked him about it and they got into a 20 minute conversation about Disney! Turns out his new boss ( YEP-He Got The Job!!!!! ) is Fred Block- Organizer of Magic Meets!!!!! What a small world, right??? (cue annoying song here ). He is so excited! He starts a few days after we get back from out Halloween getaway! It just makes this trip that much better!!!
We will never have to worry about not getting time off for vacations!! He already mentioned to them about the Jan trip and it is NO PROBLEM!
I am so happy for him and excited I just had to share with everyone!
Thank you Disney!!!!! "

That has been the best news our house needed, esp. 6 days before we leave! So I got to the packing with a spring in my step last night!
It went well but so far the suitcase is a little packed...

http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/9042/img4534pu7.jpg

I am going to have to transfer a few more things to the bottom of the duffle and DH says if we need to, to bring another bag thats not my purse but i think i have it under control. That is unless I can't get it to close at all. :confused3 I just figure we need that extra outfit just in case...LOL.

I finished my window deocrations. I'm not going overboard but I did wanna do a little something...this is what my craftily challenged self came up with...

http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/5818/img4532lq2.jpg

I also finished working on my new camera bag tho! A little rigging and some stitching but here it is...

http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/4290/img4536pi5.jpg

DH is going to carry the backpack and I'm carrying the video camera and that means I get to girly it all up! I did find while packing that I have entirely too many Tink shirts and not enough of other Disney characters! I'll have to recify that as soon as possible!

Here's the finalized itinerary for the trip...

Wed Oct 31~
Arrive 11am. Check in, decorate window, head to Epcot! Try Character Connection for Disney Visa photo (if line is long SKIP it). Eat, drink & be merry @ F&W. Head back to room by latest 6pm. Change into costumes and head to PI. Get some grub @ WPE. Shopping. Hit Adventurer's Club! See WDW Poly Princess!! Maybe check out Comedy Club or other clubs (we paid for a multi club ticket so why not). Head back my midnight at the latest.

Thurs Nov 1~
Arrive at rope drop for Epcot. Do FW rides until WS opens. Resume Eating, Drinking & Merriment @ F&W. Maybe take an afternoon break, heading back to Epoct for the evening as well. IF not stuffed from F&W eat @ Tangerine Cafe. Stay for Illuminations @ 9pm. If we aren't dead tired head again to DTD.

Fri Nov 2~
Up @ 8am (sleeping late disney time!lol) to make it to 10am Kona Breakfast.
L & H arrive at Noon!! Soend afternoon r4elaxing at hotel, catching up and prob crying after 8 long years of not seeing each other! Head to MK for MNSSHP by 3pm. Have some early dinner at CHH. Get on as much as we can before the party and then have a grand old time at the party! We will be staying until the end!

Sat Nov 3~
L & H leave. Hopefully catch some breakfast together. Hop onto ME by 11am. Fly home. :(

Luckily I'm keeping busy this weekend so the days will hopefully fly by!
Tomorrow we are having a "date night" and going out to a new Ruby Tuesdays in the city and seeing Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D.
Saturday we are having our January traveling companions over for some Disney movie watching (Lion King and its sequels are on the agenda) and Pants (DH's BFF) is staying over.
Sunday we are going to a going away party for a friend DH used to work with.
So that just leaves me with Mon and Tues to get thru, which I'm sure will be filled with cleaning and last minute shopping!

OK I'm off to see about repacking the suitcase! Happy Thursday All!!:yay:

Have a fabulous time -- and then you still have your Jan trip to look forward to -- wonderful!

BTW, I lived in Brooklyn for a little while years ago --One Third Place -- corner of Third and Henry. I also lived out in Bayside for a very short time.

Have fun! Can't wait to read your TR when you return!

P.S. That's so cool about your DH's new job! :thumbsup2

I am the designated picture taker and I love it! It's a challenge now to get new pics as opposed to the albums full of Disney pics!

It's getting so close! And, you're SO busy before - according to FDM you must only have, what, 2 days? :)

Well since it's after midnight then today doesn;t count right? so 3 days and if you don't count the day before we leave...well the 2 it is! Thanks FDM! :rotfl2:

Congrats to your DH about the new job. I guess that Mickey polo you picked out paid off, huh? :thumbsup2

Thanks! he says he got the job on skill I say he got the job because Disney rules, maybe it;'s just a little from column A and a little from column B!?:rolleyes1

3 days to go!!!!

I am soooooo excited! Pretty much everything is done! I'm all packed and I even got the suitcase to close! On the way home we will be using our park backpack as an additional carry on since I know we will be buying refillable mugs, at least.
I printed my mousekeeping envelopes. Now I just need to locate some singles to put in them.

I'm just really hoping that my maple leaf tickets and my magical express stuff comes Monday. I'd really like to have the mail held from Tuesday on since they have a habit of screwing it up, I'd like the extra day to make sure they do the hold. Not to mention I ordered the 3rd edition Hidden Mickey's Book too.

Still to do:
1)Call car services to get a cheap deal and to set up a ride home with no drama. (on our way home from Vegas the car driver tried to charge us $75 and we were fighting him at 8am, not fun and NOT happening again)
2)Charge and update ipods
3)Pack all chargers
4)clean up the house (I hate coming home to a mess)
5)empty and clean cat box (I don't want any "gifts" not in the box when we get home)
6)paint nails/toes

Thats about it. We are getting up at about 5am on Halloween and out the door by 6am. OY. I'm NOT a morning person, but for Disney I am! Tonight we are going to a going away party in NYC and the next few days will be spent freaking out with excitement! :)

I'm almost there.... another 30 hours and we will be on our way to the airport. LOL. Can ya tell I'm excited???? I spent all day shopping for last minute things and dealing with the post office. They can't seem to do anything right! They lost a package last week that I now have to make a claim for (which takes 30 days BTW) and today I got one of those notices for a package when I was home! Makes NO SENSE! It was our PI tickets in one of the packages tho...so thank goodness I got it when I went to the office to pick up the packages. The only bad thing is the clerk never gave me back my ID and by the time I realized she was off for the day. I kind of need it for Wed morning!!!!! I have to call in the morning and find out what she did with it and pray they find it because my mail is being held from tomorrow until Monday!!!!! If not it looks like I'm lugging every piece of ID i have- SS Card, Birth Cert, Marriage Cert, Credit Cards, Insurance Cards. OH the drama. Always something! We cleaned up today and took care of most everything since DH's BFF wants to spend some time over tomorrow before we go. Other than that I'm praying for an uneventful day of retrieving my ID, spending time with friends and relaxing before we have tog et up at the crack of dawn wed but we will be at DISNEY SOON!!!!!

Ok hold on tight everyone…my trip on a whim is about to begin! I still have a hard time realizing we went on such short notice! I also can’t believe that it was DH’s idea!! This is the trip that hooked him in officially…you’ll see how and why later on but just know he’s SO in!!!!

So the tale begins on Halloween morning….very early. I had the alarm set for 4:45 and we had a car coming to get us at 5:45 so I thought that was plenty of time. I was really tired when we laid down around midnight. I actually crashed out (what a switch compared to the usual up all night)…that is until 4am hit. I just woke up and that was it! We were going to Disney so I was up and there was no stopping me! I laid there till about 4:30 and gave up and took a shower. I let DH sleep esp. since it takes him like 4 minutes to get ready! I fed my furry baby and made sure he had tons of extra water and food and we were off to the lobby to wait for the car to take us to the airport! It was still dark out! Usually I see that time of day going to bed not getting up!

Our flight wasn’t until 8am and we got there about 6:30 and got me some much needed Dunkin Donuts coffee. I had to have a real cup before we entered the non coffee domain! The flight was on time and we were even boarded early and on the runway at 8am! As soon as we got on the plane I settled in for some Disney podcasts and relaxed. DH watched some Naruto on his Archos. What a nerd. LOL. We landed a bit after 11am and since we didn’t have any checked luggage (yes folks I actually fit all our crap into carry on luggage!!) we headed straight to the ME desk! Of course we went to the wrong terminal first for no real reason and trekked it back to the other side of the airport and quickly checked in and were on the line for the Caribbean Beach Resort. It was about 5 minutes and we on a bus headed for the resort, which was the first stop!

I stayed at CBR many, many moons ago, over 10 years ago, and I don’t remember any of it at all. So for all intents and purposes this was our first stay here. The check in line was a breeze! I asked for something in Jamaica Building 45 or 46 but all she had was 42, which we took because it was better than the room in Barbados she originally had for me that was faaaaar from Old Port Royal and I need to be close to the drinks! I wanna get my $’s worth from those mugs!

For those of you not familiar with it here’s the resort map….

http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/1944/disneyworldcaribbeanbeaji6.jpg

So we waited for the internal resort shuttle (yea this resort turned out to be HUGE!) and made our way to Jamaica. Then we made our way to getting lost going to the room. It was mighty windy and twisty and hard to navigate! Of course Bldg 42 is the only one not in the row of buildings and therefore the most confusing to get to (IMO). Eventually we made it to room 4262.

http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/2200/img1380au9.jpg

We were greeted by this guy….Stitch quickly made friends….
http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/4130/img1377qt1.jpg

It was our first EVER towel animal and I left him there to make someone else excited like I was when I got into the room!

Here’s the room…

http://img461.imageshack.us/img461/7374/img1374ye2.jpg
http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/5265/img1376oe9.jpg

I thought the room was perfectly nice. It did seem a little cramped but it served it’s purpose well and was clean and odor free. The only thing missing was a luggage rack, maybe it’s just me! Anyways I unpacked our junk and got a little settled and decided to decorate the window!!!

http://img461.imageshack.us/img461/9064/img1381pa1.jpg

DH’s favorite thing about the resort….
http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/7461/img1384mi7.jpg

Then we headed out to check out the resort a bit and buy us some YOAMD’s mugs at Old Port Royal. We had a little bit of a hike to the bridge to get over there but it was a straightforward pathway at least. It was a nice walk tho. The resort is pretty. The bridge exit on the other side just kinda dumps you out by the pool which I thought was odd. The pool looked neat. We got our mugs and headed out to the bus stop on our way to Epcot for our first ever F&W festival! We were soooo excited and hungry!

Next up….Food & More Food!!!!!

Off to Epcot!!! I can’t remember spaceship earth without the wand so it was pretty cool to see that at first. And BTW can the bus stops be further away from the entrance??? Jeez! :confused3 Anyways the view was awesome, the F&W decorations were adorable and the weather seemed to be holding up.

The obligatory Epcot shot.
http://img461.imageshack.us/img461/1967/img1387yq1.jpg

We couldn’t find a photo pass guy so we headed on. We decided to go to the Disney Visa picture area since we were fairly freshened up and not melty in the heat yet. Turns out it was Mickey & Pluto! Pluto danced me around, we had so much fun! Mickey was scared of DH’s Jack Skellington shirt! The pics were priceless!

http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/2738/31470955fw4.jpg

http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/1107/12wy9.jpg

We had a blast, the interaction was so worth the few minutes wait! We headed to Club Cool next, for a quick free drink. DH insisted on me filming him drinking all the drinks, even tho he knew which ones were not good. Whatever floats his boat, ya know!? I stuck to the watermelon drink, China I think, that the one I can actually drink and not gag. The end result of DH’s video is this…

http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/719/img1390id8.jpg

Beverly=BAD. Nuff Said. I’m sure in January he will make all our friend’s drink it! What a nice guy, huh?

On to the good stuff… the food that is! Remember this whole trip was because DH wanted to go to F&W and we covered as much as we could in these few days. We decided to start on the Canada side. The first thing we ran into was Dominican Republic.

Our first dish was: Mofongo (Mashed Yuca, pork cracklings and shrimp).
We decided to rate everything on a scale of 1-5 (5 being highest) so on that note….Mofongo got a -4-!
http://img461.imageshack.us/img461/223/img1392ek2.jpg
DH has had it before at a friend’s house and said it was pretty good. I LOVED it and could have eaten my own plate of it!
We heard some good Spanish type music and saw some DR dancers having a great old time and snapped this…
http://img461.imageshack.us/img461/5409/img1393xv8.jpg

Next up was Peru. We shared: Causa de Cangrejo (Yellow potato with crab salad) -31/2- & Arroz con Pato (Duck with Cilantro Rice) -5-
http://img461.imageshack.us/img461/9018/img1394xt7.jpg

DH could not have loved anything more than that duck! The funniest thing at the Peru booth was DH ordering in Spanish and then the server saying “one duck, on crab”. :confused3 Kind of ruined the fun! Not the taste tho!! The crab salad was so refreshing on the hot day!

Then I spotted the Greece wine booth! I’m Greek and I know very little about it but trying out some Greek wine seemed the thing to do! I asked a few questions about what I might like and ended up with a sweet white wine. It started with an S and I never did get back to get the name but it was soooo yummy! I love me some wine! I give it a -5-
http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/3638/img1396iw3.jpg

We passed by Canada because it was just too hot for soup, as much as I LOVE the soup. We decided to return tomorrow later in the day for the soup. We saw one of our fav Disney bands- Off Kilter playing for a bit! I LOVE THEM and I really need to get some of their music!

We then headed to New Zealand for: Lamb Slider -5-
http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/8091/img1397nv8.jpg
It was kinda small but it was seriously yummy. Even the bread was tasty.

I have to add in here that as I consider myself a fairly adventurous eater I still don’t generally go for more than your basic protein, such as duck or lamb, both of which I tried and LOVED! I was pretty much ready to eat anything and we did!

Onward….:woohoo:

On our way to France we saw a PP guy so we figured why not!

http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/3084/15ai6.jpg

Then we headed to DHs new favorite place ever...France…or the food booth in France anyways. We tried: Escargot Persillade en Brioche-5- & Quiche au Fromage de Chevre -4-
http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/6360/img1398ip7.jpg

DH was feeling saucy when he tried the escargot and somehow it became his favorite thing in WDW in like 3 seconds! :thumbsup2 I had one he had the other 2. I actually really liked it! Again, a crazy thing for me to eat and I liked it, go figure! Dh couldn’t get over how much he loved these and he pronounced he would be back for more again before we left (and he did get another plate the next day). He also professed that he thought he’d eat cardboard if it was doused in enough garlic and oil! :upsidedow I’m not sure what that says about the escargot. LOL. I thought the quiche was yummy. I LOVE goat cheese. Needless to say DH is a lot more excited about our ADR for Chefs de France in January!

And now we visit France’s other treasure…The Grand Marnier Slushie!:drinking1 This is my new crack! I could have had a thousand of them! SO GOOD!
http://img461.imageshack.us/img461/4585/img1399gd9.jpg
Just beware that it melts fast! It started to spill and I had to inhale a bit of it to get it to a normal level in the cup. I swear I could drink those things for weeks!!!!

Up next: You guessed it more food…and Halloween Night fun!

Wooooo Focker Points!!!! I'll be up to my Lime Green ears by the end of this trip!!!!:woohoo:
I thought the wait was kind of a pain because we are used to resorts with only one bus stop. It wasn't as bad as waiting for buses here in NYC and thats what I'm used to! LOL!
The pool was ok but i thought the slide was better at CSR, maybe the rehab wil make it spiffier.

I should really have played the bad back card when checking in, but alas we live and learn. I think Jamaica bldg 45 or even 46 was fine and Aruba 51 would have been fine as far as walking goes but from where we were it was too far. I think the resort is just too big and we'd prob not stay again if given options for other mods. I liked it, don't get me wrong , just TOO big for me!
I swear DH would have slept on the hammocks if I let him!

OK so we were mid way or so through our first round of F&W…. I swear I salivate thinking of all the goodies. Anyways.

We wandered through Morocco a little bit, knowing we’d be back for some dinner at the Tangerine Café later, one of my very fav CS in all of WDW! We were also looking for the pressed penny that we missed last time. When we were walking the stores looking for the penny machine we got harassed by this guy:

http://img250.imageshack.us/img250/6553/img1400yj2.jpg

We hit Japan next. When we got to the booth DH decided to head up for the food while I sat down on nearby bench.
Now let’s recap my back situation…I have a herniated disk and sciatica. Not fun. I am in pain pretty much every day of my life but nothing will stop me from my Disney vacations! I just need more rests than I used to and eventually in the longer vacations I need a wheelchair. We deal with it and I really wouldn’t let it stop the fun. So sitting it was!

When I was on the bench I saw this:
http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/328/img1401fd5.jpg

It was a cool little show. The drums are very soothing. DH is big into Japanese stuff so a wander around the store was in order. Not before we got some good grub:
Crispy Sukiyaki Beef Roll -4- & Bonki Sake -5-
http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/922/img1404ri0.jpg

We knew we wanted to try some Sake but had no idea where to start so DH asked the girl at the booth about it and she said we’d like the Bonki and at $8 bucks a glass we sure hoped so! Well lemme tell you- I’m hooked! It was soooo good! We were very tempted to buy the bottle from in the store and it was $40! It was that good! I wanted a Cali Roll but DH picked this time. I love me some sushi!

We passed by the Hops & Barley Booth and DH decided that since we hadn’t yet reached Ireland for his beloved Guinness he would try something here. He got a Cream Stout. He gave it a -3-, not exactly his thing but he drank it anyway, the trooper that he is. :rolleyes1

One of the booths we were most excited about was coming up…Poland!
We had: Cabbage Roll with Spiced Beef -3- & Kielbasa and Potato Pierogies-5-
http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/3508/img1405is5.jpg

The cabbage was tasty but not as good as some we’ve had before. We go to this awesome little diner place in lower Manhattan and they have some seriously good cabbage! The kielbasa was great!!! The Pierogie was pretty good too. We both looked very forward to this food and it didn’t disappoint. We intended to get back and try the donut but we never did. Maybe next time….here’s hopin’ there is a next time!

By now my legs and back were not too happy. So we decided to hop on the boat from Germany to FW and head to the resort to relax a little and get all Halloween-ed up and head to DTD for some candy and a DIS meet! On the way out we were walking past the fountains and the wind was blowing and we knew we’d get spritzed a little by the water and figured it would be refreshing but this is what happened:
http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/5489/img1406yo0.jpg
DH got as wet as I did but he had on darker clothes and you couldn’t tell!!! We kept going on about the water ride at Epcot we never knew about! Luckily we were on the way out or I’d have been a might cranky!

DH next played the roll of the awesome hubby ;) and got off the bus at Old Port Royal to refill the mugs while I got off in Jamaica. Of course I got lost trying to walk to the room. :confused3 It was just too darn confusing! I just kept praying I’d see my window decorations around each corner!! Eventually I found it and started to organize our stuff. I am one of those overly neat people at home and I tend to try and be that way on vacation too. I like to get our clothes out for the next day the night before and since we’d be out late tonight I did it then, just to make it easier. I knew we’d be making it to the Epcot rope drop so all the morning help I could get was needed. I even got the coffee maker ready with my yummy Dunkin Donuts coffee for the morning! No Nescacrap for me! KC ended up plopping on the bed when he returned with the mugs and I felt bad for him so I let him crash out for ½ hour.

We got up, got costumed and headed over to OPR (Old Port Royal) to check out the trick or treating they said was going on. There was a DJ playing games with the kids and it was a good time. No candy to be had, apparently we missed that part! We did see Donald Duck there dressed as a scuba diver! It was really cute. We just decided to head to DTD but not before bothering the DVC CM to take a pic of us together. It’s a good thing we did because we blanked on pics for most of the night; I think this is mostly due to DH having the camera bag. When I have it I take a ton of pics, him not so much.

http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/6002/img1411dw8.jpg

Aren’t we cute!? LOL. I wish DH’s red stripped knee socks were in the pic but it’s a pic so I’m glad we at least have this one! :thumbsup2

Next up….Adventure & Meeting!

Can't wait for your AC update. You were meeting up with Crystal right?

We decided to get of at The Marketplace side of DTD and see about some trick or treating! We stopped in the first spot, got our goody bag and started loading up on the candy! We made a few stops and then the lines got so long we just gave up and wandered through taking it all in. I understand that DTD is full of locals too but do all these young girls need to go out in the hoochie version of Disney costumes??? I swear if I was any of those kids mother they would never have left the house like that! Sorry to jump on the soapbox but it really annoys me that young girls use holidays like this as an excuse to dress like hoochies!!! It really bugs me! *End of rant*

We wanted to try Cookes of Dublin for some dinner before we did anymore drinking. We got in and decided to share a platter and the guy told us it was a 15 minute wait! We changed our mind and headed to WPE. We hadn’t eaten there since our honeymoon.
We had the Meatloaf (Pork and veal with garlic mashed potatoes).
http://img250.imageshack.us/img250/5303/img1414si4.jpg

It was YUMMY! The sauce had some kind of wine reduction or something, neither of us can remember what it was but it was tasty. It hit the spot along with our Cherry Coke. I am a Cherry Coke addict! :scared:

Then we were off for our very first trip into the Adventurers Club! :woohoo: We always wanted to go but for some reason we never made it. Knowing WDW_Poly_Princess (aka Crystal) was going to be there concreted it for us!

As we were getting our tickets checked I get my bracelet and then DH gets stamped on the hand. It took me a few seconds to register but I realized the girl didn’t look at the actual date on DHs license and thought him to be “UNDER 21” as it says on the license!!! (Note to self get to DMV ASAP!) I started saying “NO NO NO NO NO” so he showed her the date and it proved that he is in fact 22 and can drink. PHEW! I didn’t wanna drink alone! :cutie: They wiped off the stamp and got him a bracelet! Crisis Averted! We took a stock of the place and within 2 minutes I recognized Katie from Crystal’s TR’s! Then I saw Crystal too! So down the stairs we headed! I am generally kinda shy unless I know you so going up to her was a little scary for me. Disney brings out the good in me I guess because I walked up to her and said “Jeez you are much taller than online!”. That girl is TALL, ok maybe I’m close to midget status but to me she towered over me! So we introduced ourselves and also met Brocktoon! We chatted a little bit and then DH got us our first Kungaloosh! Boy was that one yummy drink! Watch out for them tho because they can def get you since it tastes so sweet and the liquor is well masked.

Soon after we got inducted into the club and learned the official song (it’s still stuck in DHs head) and the official hand signal! It was too fun! Then we went into one of the rooms for the Balderdash Competition! We grabbed some seats against the wall and somehow we lost Katie! So she cheated the system and jumped under the rope and shared the stool with Crystal. At some point DH was leaning with his arm behind me and he went to caress my shoulder and he missed and got Crystal!!!! I just turned and looked and him and said “That wasn’t my shoulder” and burst out laughing. He proceeded to make “the eyes” at Crystal and they are now betrothed I think, if polygamy was legal. LOL. It was truly hilarious!

We snapped a quick pic after the show….
http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/8017/img1416zv7.jpg
See how short I am!!!!!

We found a nice little corner upstairs with a bunch of chairs and relaxed and chatted away. We had such a fun time talking to them! We got to sign the official Disneyween book! We learned of Katie’s slow texting ways and of Crystal’s inability to hold onto her drink.
http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/9210/img1417dn1.jpg

I have pic of her cleaning it up too but didn’t know if it was too Cinderella to post. We called the pic “Kung-a-NO!” Somehow it managed to not get on her bag or the notebook. At first we all sat there trying to figure out what to do and Crystal ran down to the bar declaring to the bartender “I need napkins I have a liquor emergency!” We all snapped pics of the poor drink on the floor! Laughs were had by all. It was slowly getting later and later and it was close to 11pm and I was starting to feel the effects of being up at 4am the day before and not napping so we decided to call it a night without having made it to the Hoopla. We decided to meet up for Illuminations the next night and then we;d come back to the Adv Club! We really had a great time hanging out and meeting Crystal and Katie!

Just a note on DHs behalf he wanted to stay since he had a nap and he wasn’t too happy about leaving but Disney makes everyone better and he sucked it up and took me home. Not before upgrading out PI tickets so we could hit to Adv Club again tomorrow and see what we missed out on this night! For $10 more we got 5 more nights worth of fun (even tho we only had 1 more night left of the trip to go) but I got the tix at a discount so it really turned out to be the regular price for a one night multi club ticket, for 2 nights worth of fun! Thank you FDM! This upgrade will come back to haunt me later tho....

We were just getting to our bus stop and realized it was our bus leaving! :sad1: DH started shaking his fists all mad we missed it and the bus driver stopped!!! It was awesome! He said “All you have to do is wave!” We got lost going to the room of course, although DH swears he knew the way the whole time. When I got into bed I was slightly dizzy. In hindsight I think it was a combo of alcohol and lack of sleep but I felt funky but managed to pass out pretty fast.

I would also like to make a note about the beds at CBR. They are LOUD! It’s the only Disney room I have seen with an under the bed space and it made the mattresses really loud every time you moved. It was kind of annoying. Not to mention DH & I are used to a queen bed and got 2 doubles because of the room discount we got. Sleeping on the very ends of the bed was interesting. And being the midget I am getting onto those beds was a task in itself! I kept saying we needed those little doggie steps for me to get into bed!

And thus ends day one! Whew it was a LOOOONG day!

Anyways next up…a whole lot more first and more yummy food!

I am still mourning the loss of my yummy Kungaloosh! I miss it so!

I had forgotten about Katie getting locked out of the show! (And sorry for stealing your husband! It seems to be a bad habit I've developed!)

Hey, Kat, finally caught up!

The food all looks great - I don't know that I would have ordered some of the items, but they look good. :) I know what you mean about adventurous eating. I will try my normal foods prepared in any way, but I wouldn't always branch out to different meats or whatnot. ;)

Your Halloween costumes look great, and it sounds like a wonderful day. :goodvibes

You're so lucky! I wanted a pic of the Genie :thumbsup2

Sorry.

I don't think I'd enjoy a stay there (although it's very beautiful).

At a very early 630am the wake up call happened! DH was next to the phone so he picked up and hung right up and went back to sleep. I got up and got dressed and threw my affectionately dubbed “Disney Hair” in a bandanna and braids. You know what I mean by the bad hair right? I swear Florida kills my hair, it feels instantly dry and yucky no matter what shampoo I use. I like my nice dirty NY water thank you very much! :thumbsup2 Since I was up so early we decided to trek over to OPR and get a breakfast platter to share since we wouldn’t be grazing around the WS until after 11am.

We all know what it looks like but here ya go anyways…
http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/1589/img1421bg5.jpg

It was just the thing that morning, along with my brewed in the room Dunkin Donuts coffee. We were on our way by about 8am, I think, and we were first at one of the turnstiles! :yay:

http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/2562/img1422pl2.jpg

We stopped for some photo pass shots, of course! At least Epcot was looking bright and cheery, but for how long???

http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/9154/25lb7.jpg
http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/9945/22lk1.jpg

We experienced our very first rope drop at Epcot! :goodvibes Believe it or not we always managed to get to the parks early but not that early I guess. I have since learned my lesson and rope drops are a MUST do no matter what. There is time for sleep in the afternoons or after the vacations, or when we’re dead!:sad2: We decided to against to TGM grain…GASP! :scared1: I know I know flame me all you want LOL. I got TGM more for when we have a group of people with us and if it’s just DH & me I don’t care as much about waiting. Also realize the last time we were in WDW it was Xmas time and crowded and the last time we were in a Disney park it was DL in the summer! So this felt like a breeze to us!

We walked onto Test Track!
http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/4458/21vj3.jpg

This was a first for us as well! Last trip I was too nervous about my back and how I would be affected so we gave away our FPs to someone else. This time I was gonna ride one way or another! We loved it! It was soooo fun! I wanna do it at night next time! We def were happy to have tried it out! So why does it break down so much, anyone know? :confused3

Next we went to Mission Space. Apparently this side of the park was not an area we frequented in the past because we had never been on this either! I know I know! :guilty: We did the dumbed down version because DH isn’t into spinning and I could live without the motion sickness I heard it gave many people. We had our own ride vehicle and made stupid jokes and yelled at Gary Sinise the whole time! It was a blast! (Pun intended!). We plowed our way over to the Land Pavilion and walked right onto Soarin! I LOVE this ride soooo much. I listen to the soundtrack all the time and I love it! I am not too fond of heights but this ride for some reason doesn’t bother me. I was so scared the first time now I’m the one running to get on! We got the front row too so I was really happy about that. I had flip flops on that day and I decided to tuck them into the pocket and go bare foot- it was cool! DH & I decided that they need to add a little bit to the ride tho, like splash a bit of water when we are over the water and stuff like that, wind effects, it would enhance it that much more. I still love it tho, we were just sayin’! :rolleyes1

Next up was another first- Living with the Land! I wonder what the heck we did in Epcot in the mornings before! It was a neat ride and a nice relaxing sitting down time, which makes my aching back happy! Here are a few pics…
http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/5483/img1427xf9.jpg
http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/8201/img1429cf1.jpg

DH said the lemon looked like it was staked with the stick. The ride made me wanna try some food at Sunshine Seasons but F&W was calling so we passed. We did take a short break at a table over there and get a too expensive soda for me.

Off to Nemo we went! I love Finding Nemo and the ride is pretty cute and we just had to ride. It was also only about 10:30am at that point and we had time before we started the days “grazing”. When we got there the CM said it was broken down but would be back up “soon”. Well since there was a nearby bench we decided to chill for a few minutes and see just how soon “soon” was. It was about 5 minutes and then people were heading in and we followed! We walked right on and when I got to the ride the CM said to me “I can take that soda for you miss”. It was odd. I figured I couldn’t take it on with me BUT he made it sound like I’d get it back or something, just left me confused. We happily loaded into our clam shell and had a happy time on Nemo. And guess what???? We found him! He was missing you know!?

We hung around the Seas for a few and got to see a Diver coming into the holding tank. She did tricks for the kids and it was pretty cool.
http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/497/img1431hv7.jpg

We were going to check out Crush (we have only done this in DL) but it was getting a bit late and we wanted to check out Image Works before heading off for F&W. We were walking over to the Nemo statue for a PP pic and I saw a cute birthday sign on someone’s ECV. It said “Celebrating my 21st Birthday for the 18th time”. I was about to just say Happy Birthday to her and I realized what she was wearing…. A TFW Lanyard!!!! I poke the heck out of DH and wait patiently until she stopped talking to a nearby CM and I told her she had a really nice lanyard on and showed her mine sewed to my bag! It was a Focker and I was so excited! DH laughed at me and her friend laughed at us too but we became fast friends! We joked about how we knew more about Disney than the CM’s and the nearby one thought it was funny, little did he know it’s so true! :snooty: We had a great chat and it started to rain a little so we gave up on the PP op and said our goodbyes and we headed to Image Works to wait out the rain.

But not before a photo op with my camera first!!!
http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/8794/img1432qq1.jpg

HI mickeysaver!!!!! :wave2: :wave2: Great to meet you!

We played around in Image Works and emailed ourselves some of the photos but for some reason they never came! I don’t know why!? They were cool and funny too. Oh well. I believe the phrase is “Next Time!”

The rain lasted all of 10 minutes and we were headed to the WS for some new and exciting foods and drinks…. What we had you will have to wait till next time for….

Next – F&W Day 2 and Illuminations with a fellow DISer.

Kat - I read you anniversary TR, so I'm looking foward to reading this one! Can I borrow you husband so that he can teach DBF a lesson or two. One thing I remembered about you annivesary TR that I tried to use during my May trip was that DQ food didn't stay open that late. Unfortunately, the night we went, I left my phone at the room and lost everyone, so I didn't get to eat until it closed. We got stuck at the McD's after all of that!

Ok so I am all caught up on your report. I am so jealous you guys got all that done at epcot before 11am. Traveling with the kiddos makes things take a little longer so we did not get to any park at rope drop, Close 2 of the days but not quite. I missed soarin' the line and fast pass times were not good when we were in that area. We didn't go to the disney visa meet n greet either- so there was only 2 characters there. I thought they had at least 3 or 4. I am glad we didn't wait in line for that- we saw mickey and pluto twice- we had 5 character meals during our trip!!! I am anxious to hear what your favorite food was- we did not partake in the F&W experience- maybe next time ;) - We gotta have a reason to go back right? ;) ;)

I'm opening Word now to work on my report I have been LA-ZEE these past few days! I swear I'm going.....

KatGarcia

Okay Dokay! I will stop with the laziness and get to the reporting! After all I have another TR in progress after this one is done! Look at me I can have two TRs at the same time!! WOOO! It’s kinda like chewing gum and walking…sorry I’m feeling silly this evening. It’s been a long boring few days for me…ok I’ll get to the good stuff! :cool2:

We made our way to the WS and what did we see?? A Christmas tree???? Yes! A tree! Flippin’ weird! We had made a passing comment to each other when we first came into Epcot the day before about no Christmas decorations being there (last time we were in WDW was Xmas 06/) Why does everyone everywhere insist on hurrying the holidays!!?? We haven’t even had turkey day yet! Yeesh. :confused3

So past the tree we went…towards Mexico! Ole!

We had: Spicy Beef Empanada -3- &Grilled Beef with Chimichurri Sauce -3-
http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/284/img1436ht5.jpg

I remember the empanada being OK. We are big Mexican and Latin food eaters so it has to be amazing to impress us but it was just ok. The beef I didn’t even remember until I saw the pic and looked up what it was so that tells ya how that went over! I remember thinking it would be spicier but the sauce wasn’t. We plopped on a wet bench and ate it. Surprising how many benches open up with they are wet! I have no shame, we sat, I don’t care if I look like I peed myself, as long as I get to sit! LOL! :rolleyes1

Next stop was a happier stop a few feet away… Mexico!

We had Quesadilla con Chorizo -3 ½- & Congo Juice -5-
http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/298/img1439mf4.jpg

The quesadilla was tasty but the rumors of it having little to no chorizo were true! The juice however I could have drank gallons of! DH was nice enough to drink a bit then pass it to me. So we decided to escape the stifling hot sun and head into the Mexico pavilion and check out another 1st for us: The 3 Caballeros, or the river ride as I always called it. We wandered in and I saw a little ledge to relax on and cool down. DH went to throw away the plate from the quesadilla and who did he come back with….

Crystal!!

Too funny! Of all the places in all of WDW she was in Mexico at the same time as us! She said to DH “I knew I would find my hubby” and we all laughed and chatted. We decided to ride the river ride together and mainly chatted through it and danced to Crystal’s favorite guy on the ride! He was really cute and the dance was adorable! I will forever think of her when we ride it and see that little dancing Mexican! :yay: Crystal came with us on our next round of grazing…in Spain.

DH had to have Papas con Chorizo -4-
http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/2267/img1440so0.jpg

It was yummy but too spicy for my taste. He ate pretty much the whole thing.

Then we spied a booth we were jazzed about getting to… Ireland. We made jokes about “One of each please” but in reality got: Boxty with Bacon Chips and Kerrygold Garlic and Fresh Herb Butter -5- /Irish Cheese Plate and Brown Bread with Apple Chutney and Kerrygold Irish Butter -4- and a Guinness for DH (his fav of all beers)
http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/1987/img1441ee8.jpg

I should also point out DH waited for this beer for about 24 hours because I wouldn’t let him spend the $ on one in the UK yesterday when I knew there was a decent sized one at this booth for half the price! :upsidedow

We all found a bench to sit on and chatted some more. We decided to meet up for Illuminations later that night. Crystal went off to do some shopping and we headed to our next grazing spot.

China- Pot Stickers -3 ½-
Apparently we forgot a pic of these and I didn’t notice till now. Oh well. They were very good, crispy on the outside and yummy on the inside. DH is a big dumpling man and he liked these alot.

We walked past Norway and saw that Malestrom was down so that was ok. We almost got on all the rides in Epcot that day, better luck next time!

While we were standing in Norway I heard a mother say to her son "Oh honey Malest-trom is closed!" I nearly wet myself and we have been calling it Malestrom ever since!

So we went to India to try some of their goodies.
We had: Curried Butternut Squash Soup with Paratha Bread -3 ½- & Coconut India Rice Pudding -5-
Apparently I was so tired that I didn’t take a pic of these either! My bad! DH thought the soup to be too spicy and too hoto out for soup so I had most of it and I really enjoyed it. I had hoped it would be something similar to the soup at Boma and it kinda was but with more kick. The rice pudding I could have had 5 of all by myself! It was soooo good!

The original plan for the day was to make it all the way to Morocco and have food at the Tangerine Café but my back was saying otherwise… So we decided that would be dinner instead and stopped in Norway to get a school bread to go (I MUST have a school bread). I sat at one of the outside tables to wait for DH and when he came out he had 2 plates and they were to stay! :confused3 I twisted my own arm and ate the school bread then and there while DH had a sweet pretzel (his new version of crack). I never took the camera out for this either but you should all know what school bread looks like and DH had a pretzel and it was pretzel shaped- nuff said!

We walked our way back to the FW area and split up because DH had to have another plate of Arroz Con Pato from Peru. :stir: I went to Mouse Gears and wandered around. Did you know they don’t really have a shot glass with just Disney World written on it? Lots of characters and lots of other themes but nothing plain. Oh well the shot glass collection will live. I met DH at the pin traders where I bought a F&W pin with some Visa rewards. I don’t really collect pins but I usually get them to put in out shot glasses on display so it was a must. It had stitch on it too, so everyone wins!

Here is my favorite shot of the whole trip…courtesy of DH.:teeth:
http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/6752/img1444ra6.jpg

We trekked it back to the buses in far away land and made our way back for a little rest and swimming before coming back for some more food and some more fun.

I so lied in the “Up Next” part last time- sorry… but its midnight now and I’m tired and so the next part of the day will have to wait….:(

Next – F&W Day 2 and Illuminations with a fellow DISer.

I'm finally caught up! Sorry I lagged behind. Most of your foodie pics are making my mouth drool. Some look yucky to me, but heck you had to eat it! ;) It's always fun to see food tho!

Most excellent with all your DIS meets, planned and not so planned. :thumbsup2

I'm hoping DH liked it enough to make another appearance there next year! It sure was a yum filled weekend!

Okay where the heck were we?? Day 2. Boy is this thing taking way too long… Keep Moving Forward….:wizard:

We headed back to CBR and got lost on the way, as per every time we tried to find that darn room! :o We headed over to the Jamaica quiet pool since it was a HOT afternoon. There were very few people in the pool so it was thus – quiet! It was soooo nice to swim in the heat! We waded around for a while and the clouds started getting very dark and closer to us than before. Most of the people cleared out so we too jumped ship and went back to the room. We crashed out for a little 45 minute Disney Power nap. I think DH slept longer than me since he was still in bed after I got out of the shower, but it takes him 5 lousy minutes to get dressed and me, lets just say NOT 5 minutes! We were headed out around 5pm or so back to good ole’ Epcot! :teeth:

We headed straight to the Mexico side of the WS and quickly made our first stop of the night at none other than Mexico! When we were there during the day and DH was ordering the CM told him how good the Chilaquiles were so we decided to try them out!
http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/4857/img1451rd9.jpg

We gave them a hearty -5- on our 1-5 scale of Yumminess!

Next is South Africa and Bobotie with Mango Chutney -5-
http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/4310/img1452th2.jpg

I love the version of this from Boma and I loved this one too! So yummy!

We needed a beverage at this point and what better to have then ….
http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/151/img1455ls6.jpg
Fiesta Margarita!!!!
I love that they give you the option of all the flavors in one! I couldn’t decide on a flavor so it was the perfect choice and oh so tasty! :drinking1

We meandered over to the Turkey Booth and got some Manti with Yogurt Sauce -4-
http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/8945/img1457dc2.jpg

Then we made our way to Germany, a much anticipated booth for us. We LOVE the Germany pavilion soooo much! I found a bench and plopped on down while DH went to get us some goodies. I was sitting on the bench in front of this window and I had to take a pic.

http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/264/img1459mi0.jpg

It reminds me of my grandfather, who is Austrian, and had these types of things in the house when I was growing up. I just thought it was a beautiful display.

Another beautiful display was this:
http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/7174/img1460dr0.jpg
Spaetzle with Creamy Mushroom Ragout -5- (DH gave it a -4-)
I thought it was totally great and I could have eaten the whole plate by myself! This was one of the only things we disagreed on the whole trip. :ssst:
Here’s our PP Stop:
http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/2774/34ee9.jpg

We couldn’t help but go back to the Japan Booth.

We had: California Sushi Roll -5- & Takara Plum Wine -5-
http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/1484/img1461eq2.jpg

I couldn’t get over how awesome this roll was! It was so fresh and yummy. DH let me have 2 of the 3 because I was so enthralled with it. The wine was terrific too! At first I thought it was going to leave a weird aftertaste but upon my second sip I realized it was sweet and delicious! I would have loved a much bigger cup than we got! :drinking1

We found a little bench near the water and sat down. All the lights were still off so it was dark and spooky around the WS. We were going to try some Shrimp-on-the-barbie from Australia but when DH saw they had Grilled Lamb Chop with Caramelized Onions -4- he had to get it!

http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/9103/img1463ea0.jpg

Now this little lamb chop has a story… The plate from the sushi roll had some wassabi and ginger left on it so when DH and I tried to put one plate on top of the other while also holding the rest of the Plum Wine we sort of lost control of the lamb chop and it toppled to the ground. :scared: DH let out a very loud foul, expletive, stopped, looked around to see if any children or otherwise offended people were in earshot (thankfully not) and stared at me. We both looked at each other looked to the lamb chop and kinda gave the funny eyes to each other as DH picked it up and put it back on the plate. YES we ate it. :scared1: We rationalized this by saying “It’s Disney, its cleaner” and “it’s too dark to see anything funky on it”. And lemme tell ya that lamb chop was darn good too! So yea we’re gross but it was also hysterical after the fact. DH really let out the LOUD bad word and afterwards it was really funny when he realized he did it. No it didn't have any 'odd' flavors.

So after disposing of the evidence we headed to Morocco to get some actual dinner, from the table, not the floor. One of my very favorite places to eat is The Tangerine Café so that’s where we went. I craved this food for months! We got the Lamb Shawarma Platter which comes with side of hummus, tabbouleh and Tangierine CousCous salad with fresh Moroccan bread. Sound good? Wanna see the picture of this scrumptious meal?

http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/8877/img1464se7.jpg

Yeah we dropped the ball on that one! We were hungry! But we did take some PP pics at the beautiful fountain next to the Tangerine Café.

http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/835/36da9.jpg

While we were sitting at the table I text messaged Crystal to see about meeting up for IROE. All I sent her was: “let’s meet up in Germany!”. I didn’t hear back for a while and we decided to walk towards France so DH can could another escargot fix so I text-ed her again with “Changed our minds-let’s meet in France by the fountain”. Still no response. I was confused. :confused3 I knew she wouldn’t ditch us (ok I hoped) so I got out the lovely Disneyween card she had written her number on and I had ONE number wrong! But apparently someone in that area code has that wrong number and they received some really weird texts for someone who wasn’t Crystal!!!! :lmao: Once I got the number right she text-ed right back and we were set to meet up in a little while in France.

So we made our second visit to the France booth. I held myself back from the Slush booth to try some yummy French wine.

We stopped for some PP with the beautiful fountain:
http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/9677/40hv5.jpg

We got: Escargot Persillade en Brioche -5- & Coupe de Sorbets: Champagne, Framboise, & Chocolat Blanc -5- & Georges Duboeuf Hobnob Chardonnay -5-
http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/905/img1465uo3.jpg

We almost didn’t get our order too! The CM at the register said she was having trouble with room keys working to charge to the room and if it didn’t work there wasn’t anything she could do! DH looked like he’d cry! He wanted his snails!:) Luckily we had stuck the credit card in DHs wallet in case we needed it at the soda machine at the bus stops late at night and it worked since it was a direct credit card not a room key! So all was right with the world! DH had his snails and I my wine and sorbet and off to find a bench we went.

We found one next to the fountain and happily sat down and ate and waited for Crystal. DH had 2 of the 3 snails and I had one. I really can’t believe I ate them at all, let alone twice but I really liked them. The wine was lovely and the sorbet was fabulous! We were almost all the way through the sorbet when we saw our new friend Crystal! We decided to find a spot for Illuminations but not before utilizing the PP to commemorate our meet!
http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/5743/43qt7.jpg

We ended up on the bridge to France with a really great spot. No pics because DH took video. It had been since last New Years Eve since we saw any version of this show and I remembered how much I love it! It reminded me of the emotional time I had on NYE (remembering my mom who passed) and how it was really great to be in Disney and how Disney truly is my happy place. I cried, as always, and it was really nice to have Crystal with us there because she is someone who really understands how Disney makes me feel and how emotional I can get about it all.

We had originally planned to head back to the Adventurer’s Club with Crystal but since my back was pretty unhappy with all the walking as it was and we had a very long night of MNSSHP the next day we opted out. Sorry DH, I know you would have loved to go back! Sorry Crystal, we woe you one! We did go with Crystal out the international gateway exit instead of trying to make it all the way to the front of the park. We hopped on the friendship boat and got off at Boardwalk and made our way to the buses there.

Here’s DH Having a Magical Day…err Night really.
http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/2532/img1466la6.jpg

We ended up taking the bus to DTD with Crystal since the transfer is the easiest one for us and walking a lot was not in my plans. We had a great geeky Harry Potter conversation most of the way there! Yay for geeks! It’s not just us! :goodvibes

We said our goodbyes to our awesome new friend Crystal and hopped off at the Marketplace side of DTD. The bus stop they let us off in front of turned out to be bus stop 6 which was the one back to CBR! We waited all of 5 minutes and a bus came! We wasted some $ at the soda machine because by the time we got home the refillable mug stations were closed and I need a drink at night. I packed up most of our stuff since tomorrow would be our last day and it was a BIG day!

Up next…Kona Café, A long overdue Reunion and MNSSHP!

Now that first Mexican dish looked good! The rest, nah. Oh, except the lamb which I love. But that's the great thing about the F&W is that you can find something somewhere you like. I would like to try the escargot someday.

I like the text messaging to the wrong person. I've received wrong texts before but your's must have seemed even funnier, telling that person to meet you in Germany, then in France! What a jet setter you are!

And gross, gross, gross that you ate that lamb chop. Although I do love me some lamb chops!

Our last full day! We …well that is to say I was up at 7:30am. Our ADR for Kona was not until 10am but my friend who lives in Tampa was meeting us at the hotel anytime after 11am so I figured if we got to Kona early then maybe we’d get seated early. We were out the door by 8:30 and seated at a table by 9:20am! My plan worked! :thumbsup2

Now for the quick side story about the friend we are meeting up with. We’ll call her L & her daughter H (she’s 8). Last time we saw each other was when H was 6 months old! We lost touch and reconnected via myspace and classmates.com about 3 months ago. She and H are already booked with us for our Jan/Feb trip but when I told her we’d be coming for this impromptu weekend we knew we’d have to work something out! She is the oldest friend I have; we go back to the 7th grade. We were inseparable as kids and kept touch over the years off and on. We always joke that we are like a real life version of Beaches! Anyways, so you see how long this is a long time coming.:yay:

I was however really excited about Kona! I have always wanted to eat here and we never seem to get past Ohana. We made no other ADRs since we did F&W so this was our one chance to check out Kona. We were seated and our server was Ann. I totally forgot to ask for Beverly when we went in- oh well!

Here is the view from the balcony by Kona of the beautiful Poly Hotel!
http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/4822/img1471ac9.jpg

I love this hotel soooo much and my Disney dream is to stay here one day! But on with the food…. (which is just as beautiful)
http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/6865/img1473bt5.jpg

I got the famous (and delicious) Tonga Toast and a pressed pot of coffee (yay for real coffee:coffee: ::yes:: ) and DH got The Big Kahuna Breakfast and the Loliqui (however you spell it) juice.

OMG was the food outstanding!!!! :worship: The tonga toast lived up to its reputation for sure! I stuffed myself silly and almost finished it. It was seriously to die for!! DH finished his whole plate too. Those macadamia nut pancakes were awesome! I drank nearly the whole coffee pot alone because DH isn’t a coffee drinker. I even got a to go cup and took the rest with me! I was glad that I could do that because wasting the yummy real coffee just seemed wrong! So we hopped onto the monorail and walked over to the bus back to CBR. We were entering the gates of CBR on the bus at around 11:15 or so. We planned to go back to the room and maybe nap before L & H showed up.

But then I got a phone call- it was L. She asked where we were, I told her on the bus and she asked if I could see a Black car behind our bus and I said Yes and it turns out she was in it!!:o She drove around to the Jamaica section and parked the car and waited for us at the bus stop. I wanted to wait till we got to the bus stop there instead of getting out and seeing her in the car and not being able to hug her! Lemme tell ya- it was the longest ride around that darn resort ever!

They were both waiting for us at the bus stop! It was also full of people who I’m sure found it very odd that a woman got off the bus and grabbed this other woman and started crying! We walked down the path a little to let other people on the bus and proceeded to cry and hug and I got a hug from H too, who was all teary with us. Too cute! We walked back to the room together and got lost of course! DH swears he knew his way but his was seemed to work but was kinda the long way. Sorry honey! :rolleyes1

We all decided to go for a swim. Before we could do that we had to head to the custom house and get a parking pass for L since we were all going to MNSSHP later and taking resort transportation. We had actually called the night before and somehow the CM had no idea what I was supposed to do, which I found odd. I ended up asking Crystal’s advice since she has local friends come to see her. All we needed was the parking pass- duh CM I spoke to on the phone! So a quick stop over there and to the pool we went. I stayed out of the water so I didn’t have to shower before the party and so I could take some pics.

We went to the main pool and it was pretty empty. I took a ton of pics of the pool and of H & DH going down the slides and swimming around. The slide was pretty lame they told me. The overall pool was just ok. We stayed at CSR last and the Dig Site pool is awesome so this paled in comparison. I'm glad they are doing a refurbishment on this pool come this winter, it needed it.

We had a grand old time! Around 2ish we headed back to the room to get ready for the party. We planned to go in at exactly 4pm since we hadn’t even been to the MK this trip and that’s where we usually go first! Not to mention the price of the ticket is so worth it if you do the extra 3 hours!!

When we first got back to the room H stole DH’s shades and I got one of my fav pics of the trip!

http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/9665/img1484eb1.jpg

It was really so great to see L, it was just like old times, we fell right back into our friendship effortlessly. It was so much fun and I really fell in love with H pretty quick. She is a really great, outgoing, well behaved, smart kid!

Enough of the gushing. LOL. H had a very special outfit to wear to the party that she was really excited about! I think she was so adorable!

http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/6011/img1485fi8.jpg

Our little Alice! So all of us hopped on a bus and finally I got to see what I always call “my castle”, it makes me feel so happy just to see it!! We went to guest services to pick up L’s tickets for the party and we got them both 1st trip buttons. L wore hers but you couldn’t see it (wimp lol) and H complained but wore it off and on. I tried to tell her it might have good benefits but I didn’t want her to expect anything so we let her wear it only part of the time.

Believe it or not we were too early! :scared1: I really am an over planner! At least we weren’t late right!? So since H asked about riding the monorail and we had told her we didn’t need to we decided to take a spin to kill some time. DH went up to the front and we waited on a line for the front car so H’s first ride would be extra cool. We kept in a secret till the family in front of us got in and then the gig was up! H was excited! We ended up getting a really nice conductor and we got to ride the whole loop in the front! DH did the whole Spanish shtick every time we stopped, which always cracks me up! H was kinda scared but we had fun. The conductor told us he was out of the pilot licenses but I saw the wings stickers and he didn't offer. Oh well, what H didn't know won't hurt her, right?

Off for food we went! CHH had no lines and the whole of MK that we saw was pretty empty. I was a happy camper! We got a Starboard Deck Sandwich (ham with tomatoes, broccoli slaw and cheese) and an Anchors Aweigh Sandwich (white tuna with lettuce and tomato) and split them.

http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/3938/img1500sa5.jpg

The pic is the 2 sandwiches already split. I almost forgot to take the pic because I was so hungry! L & H had chicken nuggets or chicken salad or something not as exciting as our sandwiches. LOL.

So since we were right next to the HM and I was itching to see the refurbs we hopped right on! It was a walk on at 5pm! The updates were awesome! DH kept saying how much he really loved this ride and how he didn’t remember liking it so much. H didn’t believe us that it wasn’t really scary but as soon as we got off she said she liked it and it wasn’t scary. Although she was concerned about the whole “taking a ghost with you” thing, which we quickly explained as fun only. We made our way over to the Tiki Room. My plans were to get on as much as we could that would be closed during the party. I LOVE the Tiki Room, but I don’t love under new management so much. I would be ok with it if they just went back to the original song at the end but oh well. I am very thankful I got to see the original one in DL since this wasn’t an attraction we had ever been on before in WDW. H loved it tho!

Next we hopped on the Jungle Cruise. I LOVE the Jungle Cruise and I laugh at all the jokes no matter how hokey they are! We ended up getting a skipper named Evan and he was hilarious and we had the best time!

The pic is fuzzy but he deserved a pic! We even went to him after the ride and told him how he was the best skipper we ever had. It really was the best time we ever had on that ride! We then made our way over to fantasyland and fought over weather to go on small world or not. The fight being between me and everyone else. I love this ride. I have loved it since I was a kid and I must ride it every time. My new best bud, H, told me she’d ride with me so it was settled! L & DH actually came too but didn’t sit with us. H & I had a great time figuring out which countries we were seeing. I had a great time with H! L & DH made jokes the whole time but luckily I didn’t have to hear it!

We waited on a short line for Peter Pan, which is one of my favs! Again I rode with H and DH rode with L. Great times! So it was about 6:30 or so and I had thought there was a Wishes showing at 6:45 so we made our way to the side of the castle to see. We were even on the side with Tink’s Flight. I have never seen her fly here, just in DL since we had only seem wishes from the poly before. I guess I was wrong because it hit 7pm and the party was about to begin and no fireworks. Oh well. I got over it real quick!

Night was coming and the lights all changed and the party mood came to us all!

Up Next- MNSSHP!

That sounds like such a great day! How nice that you got to meet up with an old friend and find a new one in H. :goodvibes

We had a good skipper on JC this time, too!

Kat,

What an awseome day and it is really just starting. Isn't it fun when you are able to reconnect with friends that you have lost touch with?

I have Kona on my possible list for August. I am hoping that I can get a late enough flight out on our last day to be able to do breakfast there. I keep hearing about Tonga Toast and I WANNA TRY IT!

Ok we left off right as the lights went down in the MK and the creepy voice from the Haunted Mansion announced to those without tickets that they had to get to heck out (or something like that:confused3 ) and we decided to head to towards the Alice Trick or Treat Path since H was just a little excited to meet Alice! MY plan was to hit the trail then hit as many rides in TL that we could and make our way elsewhere. For some reason I had never been to TL by way of the path next to Cosmic Rays on the castle side (did that make sense?) but it was closest to where we were so we went that way. As soon as we went 20 feet H starts screaming and runs into Cosmic Rays because she saw this:

http://img105.imageshack.us/img105/1911/img1506qg4.jpg

H’s fav character (as well as L’s) is Stitch and her fav singer is Elvis (remember she’s 8 going on 20). She flipped out! :scared1:

Here’s L & H dancing. I swear that little girl’s feet didn’t touch the ground for the whole 30 minute performance! :yay:
http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/6680/img1507ui1.jpg

I took a little video and snapped these pics but I was so happy that H was happy I was practically in tears! DH was all teary too. That kid was on cloud two hundred and I was so thrilled she was having a good time! Stitch did have a few friends’ stop by as well…
http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/3300/img1508dp9.jpg

I thought Donald was SO cute! :donald:

DH & I left H to dance and jump and be merry and find us a seat. It was already a long day so a rest was nice. We found a table and relaxed till the end of the show. I learned a valuable lesson that will come in handy once out Jan trip comes along…Don’t go too commando with the planning when you have an 8 year old with you! I’m used to all adults or just me and DH and during the time of Stitch’s party I would have liked to have been on rides so we didn’t miss out on the parade later and Hallowishes but the look on H’s face made me forget the whole thing because nothing in the world could have gotten me to tare her away! So lesson learned but H was really gung ho about everything else we did so yay her! She also ended up loving each and every thing we did. :)

So when Stitch finally left the building we went in search of Alice. I led everyone to the beginning of the trail (even DH had no idea the back way to TL existed). We hopped on our first Trick or Treat line and got some cool tattoos and candy. Then we waited on the line to see Alice…H was freaking out and some lady was trying to cut in front of us but L, DH & me were having none of that so we slowly made our way a little past her and all was well, she was efficiently boxed out of cutting us. Alice & The Mad Hatter were so great with H! They were talking about how lovely her dress was and how Alice needed sequins on hers now and Who could do that for her and etc. So great. H was awestruck and so adorable!!
http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/4079/img1516ps1.jpg
http://img105.imageshack.us/img105/6311/img1517oa4.jpg

We were stopping most of the people dressed as the cards too for pics with H. After we saw Alice we were going to bypass the next candy line because it was too long. We then spotted this card and posed for a pic:

http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/2926/img1518nb2.jpg

She then says to H “Oh I know you, wait come with me” and this happens…

http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/7498/img1519tz4.jpg

She bolts with H! :teleport: Luckily KC was near her and realized and followed while L & I forced our way through the dense crowd yelling “she has my kid we need to get through, she’s 8!”. It was pretty funny but we followed fairly close behind and KC was right with her so we knew she was ok. Turns out the Card took her to the front of the line and had them DUMP her bag full of candy! It was awesome!!!! We were all in awe of how cool it was, H was beaming from ear to ear and I just exclaim

“THIS is why I Love Disney!”:lovestruc

With a tear in my eye! It was one of those really great moments that makes your day. I have never seen a happier kid and we were all so happy for her! So we continued on the trail and found this guy:

http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/138/img1521il2.jpg

I’m mad it’s a bit fuzzy but it’s better than nothing right!? We stopped at one more candy station and saw these neat things:

http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/8091/img1524km4.jpg

We were then officially in TL! We were right next to Space Mountain so in we went! L kept freaking out about this ride and about stories she heard of people being beheaded on it. :faint: I was laughing at her because I myself had been on this ride a dozen times and obviously I was fine. Not to mention that she and I are about 5 feet tall each and H is like 45 inches tall so HELLO we will be fine. She bugged out the whole time. We let H pick the side and she went with the right. L sat in front (I like only Disney coasters and don’t do the front unless I have to) with H in the middle and me in back. DH got behind me in the other car. The whole ride H is screaming in fun (at first I wasn’t sure cause she’s definitely a screamer, but she assured me she loved it) and L is screaming for her to keep her hands in the car! I laughed the whole time at the 2 of them! :lmao: We obviously all came out with our heads and DH & I had our first confusion between DL & WDW moment (we had a few this trip). See in DL SM has a photo stop during the ride, we thought this one did too, or really we just figured it did, and went all over ready to redneck the photo that wasn’t there! Oh well. DUH on us! It would have been priceless to see L’s freaked out face tho!

Next we walked onto Buzz! We LOVE this ride. DH loves shooter games and this is one of his WDW favs. He always beats me but its fun anyway. Our goal was to find that hidden shot that’s worth tons of points. DH found it because he beat me by a LOT. I didn’t write the scores down but I did better than usual. Maybe there’s hope for me yet!
Here are our red necked pics… (DH needs to practice his red necking skills).

http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/6526/img1525lq0.jpg
Where’s H? LOL!
http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/6100/img1526gs2.jpg

We had another DL moment here too because over there you can email the pic to yourself and we were all ready to do that and realized again we had the wrong park! I thought the emailing was a great idea but oh well. We almost missed the red neck pics because of our confusion. :confused3

The only other thing I really wanted to do in TL was The Laugh Floor because we had never seen it before (it was almost opened when we were here last) but the line seemed kinda long and considering we walked onto everything so far we went for Stitch’s Great Escape which had a 5 minute wait till the next show. This attraction is OK. We love Stitch but I can take or leave this attraction. H wanted to so in we went. We were in the 1st pre show section in like 2 minutes and there were maybe 20 people in the attraction with us. I help my nose when the chili dog part came (holy yuck). I think H & L enjoyed it. As I said DH & I can take it or leave it.

It was getting to be the time for Hallowishes and I was about ready to plop on down and watch. I took some TGM advice and we were on our way to the CP. We went via FL because we were hoping the line for the pics with Cinderella’s Coach was shorter but it never was, and we checked a few times. It wasn’t in the cards for us tonight, there was too much other cool stuff to do! So off we went and actually found a bench to sit on in front of the CP. Hallelujah for benches!! :worship:

DH went out in front of CP and video taped Hallowishes. It was AWESOME! I swear only in Disney do I like fireworks! Everyone enjoyed them, esp. when they lit up the sky like the daytime! So cool. The songs were great too!

Somehow in the afternoon we managed to forget where POTC was (remember the last place we were was DL so we needed a bit of reorienting) but quickly we remembered and headed back over to FL.

**Side note- some time early in the afternoon, when it was still light out, we had Dole Whips and I totally forgot. I always have to have a dole whip! YUMMY!**

On the way to POTC we saw another character attraction thingy set up inside on of the buildings so we decided to check it out! It was Tarzan and Balou the Bear! L’s hubby loves him so we had H take a few pics. She was hesitant at first but this was the outcome:

http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/3930/52kh7.jpg
http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/6156/55zk4.jpg

We got some good candy in there too! :stir: And off we went to DH’s fav ride: POTC! It was really cool that there was a PP guy there so we took some pics, of course!

LOVE DH in this pic!
http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/4198/59ni0.jpg

We were worried we’d not like this version of the ride after having been on the DL one with all the nifty drops and stuff but this one was just as awesome as I remembered and DH was a happy camper! H loves Capt Jack so she was in her glory! L had no idea it was updated with the Capt Jack stuff either so they really had a good time. :goodvibes

We went the back way up towards Splash so we’d be at the beginning of the parade route. We pushed our way across the road and grabbed a spot right in front of where the boats of SM go around towards the end of the ride. It was good enough to me! DH immediately set out for a Turkey Leg while we staked our claim on the spot. We only had maybe 15 minutes till the parade and DH was back just in time. I turned around to him to take a pic of the turkey leg and this is what I got! Love this pic!

http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/197/img1543uy6.jpg

I got the best pics I could because we were behind a row of people and had people on both sides taking video and pics. So the next post will be the Boo To You Parade Pics!

By now it was 11pm and we were in no way ready to end the festivities! H was still ready to go too so off to MY FAV – BTMRR! H didn’t believe me that it didn’t go upside down but once I assured her it was my fav she was in! (She didn’t believe us about SM either that it didn’t go upside down:rolleyes: ). We walked right on! It was really great at night, as I knew it would be! We had a blast! I rode with H and was so concerned about her tiny-ness sliding around I had an arm around her the whole time so tight my MNSSHP bracelet dug into her arm! We giggled about it later but we had fun squishing each other the whole time. :crowded: I really love this ride!!!

We were coming to the end of the list of must do’s but there was definitely one on DH’s list that he’d never forgive me if we didn’t do- Philharmagic! I too love this and a nice relaxing sit in the theater was just what we needed! We waited maybe 10 minutes for the show and there was maybe a quarter of the theater filled. We sat right in the middle. I always cry during this, call me a sap, but I do. At least it’s dark. My fav part is always the Aladdin part because you really feel like you are on the carpet. DH grabbed my hand at that part and it didn’t help the tears and the thoughts that we’d soon be leaving WDW again. None the less we all LOVED the show and getting to see H grabbing for the 3-D stuff was priceless.

Since we were in FL and Snow White was nearby, and knowing it is going to be being refurb-ed during our next trip, we hopped on! Love this ride. I’m glad it had an ending. I say that because the one in DL seemed to end oddly, kinda like it had no end. At least this one actually has the Happily Ever After part. :confused3

Our little Alice needed to hit the tea cups so we decided that was our last ride of the night. Neither DH nor I do spinning rides like that so we decided to take pics of L & H on the ride. At first I sat on a bench nearby and there was a woman and 2 kids in a stroller sitting next to me. She heard me say to L that I don’t do spinning rides and proceeded to tell me that she was just on it and she felt really sick. All I’m thinking is that this woman better not throw up near me!:crazy2: Luckily DH was waving me over soon after that and I fled the scene! We watched L & H spin and got some decent pics.

http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/2328/img1578zu1.jpg

We made our way to Main Street so L could make a stop at The Emporium for something to bring home for her sister. We took some last minute PP shots….

http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/8020/59nv6.jpg

http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/2161/64nt0.jpg

On the way out we tried to stop for one last pic in front of the train station because it was pretty and all lit up but the lines were looong so we took these instead.
http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/2761/img1591ko4.jpg

“We have to leave???”
http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/9686/img1590wb4.jpg

As soon as we passed the exit gates we see this giant box and CM’s dumping candy into it! We go to check it out and they ask Hannah for her pumpkin that she had her candy in and they took it, put it into the box and covered it in candy and handed it back to her filled to the brim! They did this to all of us and we ended up coming back to the room with 5 full loot bags of candy! It was nuts how much they were giving! :mickeybar

We headed to the buses. Of course it’s the furthest bus stop (#16). Oh well it was our last venture on a Disney bus for this trip anyways. We lugged our massive amounts of candy. We didn’t wait too long and when we got on there were plenty of seats in the back of the bus so we plopped on down. Before they turned off the lights I realized that on the stroller in front of me was a LGMH!!! :thumbsup2 I nudge DH and say to them “You DIS???” and they did! We got to chatting; her SN was on her LGMH (disneymommieof2). It was her and her hubby and their 2 adorable kids. They were all dressed up and looked great! They told us that some of the costumes were handmade! They were really nice costumes. H passed out sometime during our conversations as did their little buzz lightyear. I had a great time chatting with them all, they were great people. Turned out they were staying in the Jamaica section as well and offered to help us not get lost on the way to the room. LOL.

Once we got off the bus we decided to stop at the soda machine so we parted ways with the disneymommieof2 family and yes we did get lost without them!!!! LOL! We all got back to the room and got into bed and chit chatted about our awesome night and didn’t end up getting to sleep until around 2am.

Thus ends one of our longest days in Disney. Up next our last day in the world.

KatGarcia
11-23-2007, 11:28 PM
We had set the wake up call for 6:30am because H has Saturday school she goes to and they wanted to make it there before 9am. DH barely moved. I rolled out of bed, they dressed groggily and luckily we were all too tired to really notice the fact that we had to say goodbye. We knew we’d see each other again in just a few months but it was still hard for them to leave. I got the best hug from H! They were out the door by 7am and I kicked DH over to the other bed so our last few hours of sleep could be happy and not squished in the double bed. Boy did it make a difference! We slept like logs until 8:45 am. We ended up giving L & H one of our bags of candy since we had no idea where to pack all these pounds of candy. We had only one extra bag (I’m always prepared) but one bag of the candy and our new mugs fit in it. So we donated candy to L’s hubby who was looking forward to the loot when they got home! We still had a carp load of candy that we took home with us! :mickeybar

We took down our window decorations, packed up and headed out to the internal shuttle bus. For some reason the paper work in the room about it says you can’t take luggage on it? I thought that was very odd. How else do you get to the custom house to catch your ME bus? We had no problems with bringing our bags on and were over there before 10am. The line was kinda slow but when we got up there it took no time at all.

I also tried to get a refund on our PI tickets that we upgraded to be 5 day tickets. The CM told me prob not even tho I had a receipt and we never used them after the first night. He even went and got a manager who didn’t approve the refund either. I figured it wasn’t worth it to worry for 10 bucks because I got the tickets from mapleleaftickets for the AP rate as it was so the extra money was like paying regular price. I got over it fast.

I dropped all our stuff on a bench outside and DH went to find a bathroom. As soon as he walked away a ME bus came. We had plenty of time so I didn’t bother calling DH to hurry him. After he returned maybe 10 minutes later another one came.

Here’s half asleep me, with our faithful traveling partner, Stitch.
http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/1930/img1593cp8.jpg

Once we got up to the driver to put the bags under the bus we realized they didn’t give us back our boarding passes! So DH ran to the outside window and they issued him the passes no problem- crisis averted! We were on the bus and bid our goodbyes to Disney and the CBR.

We got to the airport by 11am. The flight wasn’t until 1:30 so we decided to have some lunch. We tried Chick-Fill-A, which we never had before. It was pretty good. It’s always weird to have that first non Disney meal, right?! I convinced DH to check out the Crocs store so I could see if I could actually find out the size I am in the different styles. I tried on a few different ones and when I got to the Alice ones I really liked them but I don’t really need another pair of black shoes and those were the only ones in my size. I did an amazingly unheard of thing- I turned down DH’s offer to buy them for me! I KNOW! :scared1: Crazy right!?!? Oh well. I figure at least I knew my size.

We made our way to the gate and plopped on down. We had some Seattle’s Best coffee and listened to our ipods. We were about to board the plane and they announced that the tropical storm we just missed in coming to Florida was making it windy in NY and we would be delayed at least and hour and half! I passed out for quite a while on 2 seats, with Stitch in my lap. Once I woke up they boarded us and we were on our way by 3pm, which wasn’t too bad. I really wish we had stayed till the evening, and I will never leave early in the day again, because I really felt weird being home so early in the evening on a day I was in Disney in the morning. We were back in NY by 6pm, made it home fairly quickly, ordered some Chinese food, ate and crashed out until the next day!

I took some pics of the candy when we got home. It’s all our goodies (my rice crispie treat, our F&W pin & all the candy). Can you believe we had twice as much before we gave it away to L & H!?

Final Thoughts:
It was one of the best trips we ever had and it was the shortest. We had unplanned and planned DIS meets, which was just great. Meeting others who love it as much as we do was awesome. I thank each of you for being so awesome and taking time out of your trips to chat with us, it meant a lot.

This was the trip that we really realized that Disney is our other home. Even DH just felt at home this time. We knew our way around and it made it easier to have a great time. It was a blast showing other people around too. DH has always liked our trips and tends to talk a lot about coming back when we are actually there, but when we get home he’s kinda take or leave it. Now he’s looking very forward to our Jan/Feb trip. He’s actually really excited. I love Disney more every time and knowing he loves it more too, just makes me well up inside with happiness.

Seeing L again was definitely a highlight. I still can’t believe I found her, online of all places. I can’t believe she lived so close to where we have vacationed 3 times in the last 3 years. But now we will never loose touch again. And I made a fabulous new friend in H. She is truly a spectacular kid and I look forward to spending 3 days with her and L in Jan and introducing them to our friends. She truly is that only friend I can really say is my “best friend”, you just don’t find friendship like that every day and I am so happy to have found her again and been able to share our stories with you all.

So thanks to everyone who read this, I appreciate every single one of you. I love to live vicariously through you all, and your wonderful trips, so having any of you come and do the same with me is very special to me. So thank you all.

Now head on over to my already started Pre Trip Report about our upcoming Jan/Feb trip.

It really made it magical for me! I kept saying I was glad to have an 8 year old with me so I could act 8 too!

Thanks for sharing your trip with us Kat. It really does sound like you had a fabulous time meeting new friends and reconnecting with old ones. I will definitely be reading your next Tr, can't wait!

Thanks so much for reading with me and thanks in advance for coming by the other report!

What, are you some sort of overachiever, posting multiple updates in a day? :rotfl2:

The party looks like fun, and the pictures were all great. How nice that you got to spend time with an old friend... :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing it all!

I have been trying to finish for days and i just got on a roll and kept going! LOL.

Great TR Kat. I can't believe you are starting your PTR already. I would defnitely need a break. I am not even sure I will do a TR for the August TR. I'll probably just post my thought's on Jo's:rolleyes1

I t was actually already started before and then we threw this trip together in a few weeks so I neglected the other for the last month. I def like TR-ing!

Kat-
I just spent the last hour reading your TR and I can't believe you're done!!! :sad1: WOW! You guys had a GREAT trip! I'm sitting here with a big smile on my face - this is why we go to WDW. :cloud9: I loved reading about your DISmeets! I just knew you'd have fun with Crystal. I can't believe you actually saw another Focker! :magnify: I bet she was happy to see you, too! And the part about being reunited with your old friend, well... that's just wonderful. I'm so happy for you. :goodvibes

I'll check in over on your next TR... :surfweb:
Take care,
Michelle

P.S. I just noticed that your avatar is the same picture that I have in my signature... you've got great taste. :thumbsup2

So I am really late, but I just found your trippie and sat and read the whole thing.

I really enjoyed it and I love how last minute it was.

How wonderful that youre-connected with a childhood friend who lives so close to the mouse and the wonderful friendship you made with H.

OMG Kat - what an AWESOME time you all had at MNSSHP! I can't get over how much you fit in :thumbsup2 H looks like she had a wonderful time :goodvibes

This was the trip that we really realized that Disney is our other home. Even DH just felt at home this time. We knew our way around and it made it easier to have a great time.
You hit the nail on the head here. People ask me often if WDW gets boring after spending so much time there, but I find it so much more fun now that I know where I'm going and things aren't so foreign to me!

Thanks for bringing us along - I'll see you on the next one! :thumbsup2

There really are a ton of people out there! Last year at Xmas we saw NO ONE!
Now we are invading WDW proper! :)

I was determined to do as much as possible since we had no hoppers for this trip and this was the only chance we had at MK. I think I could never ever be bored of disney- there is alway something new and the old stuff gets better and better! Just yesterday I had a great moment with DH- he went to take out the Disney Visa to pay for something with and I told him we could use the regular debit card and he said "POINTS!, we need to get disney points!" I almost cried! LOL. He's in!

Awww, it's over!

I'm so jealous of all your cool MNSSHP photos! I couldn't get my group to stop for ANY!

Be sure to look me up for your Jan/Feb trip! (Or you can invite the person whose number is close to mine, instead!) I see more Kungalooshing in the near future! And I promise mine will not end up on the floor this time!!

Finally got a chance to read through the report .... and an excellent TR it is!

It was great briefly meeting the two of you at the Adv Club, and knowing that you got to experience the craziness of Halloween at the AC.

This was our second year in a row doing Halloween week at WDW. I have to say the crowds were a little heavier, and the weather was unpredictable, but it was still a great week. And the Adv Club on 10/31 made it another unforgettable trip.

Wow! You're fast!

We only had maybe 15 minutes till the parade and DH was back just in time. I turned around to him to take a pic of the turkey leg and this is what I got! Love this pic!
