We've already made reservations to go down in April so that we can be there same time as my other half's little niece and her family. Not 100% sure we'll follow through with it but it's a good likelihood.

Hey all....
I rarely ever post on these boards....I'm a total lurker (there are too many threads for me to keep up with consistently so I mostly post to the cruise meet threads for itineraries we've booked! :lmao: )
Anyhow....my hubby and I are going in Sept. 2008, too. The plan right now is to stay at AKL Villas (our first time staying at our newest "home" resort since we bought that contract past May). We'll be there Sept. 18th through 27th and then on the 27th we're getting aboard the Magic for the Double Dip Cruise---a 7 night Western cruise with 2 stops at Castaway Cay!

We will be there in themiddle on Jan!
Its myself and my girl, my mom and my sister in law and 2 nephews!
I am so excited. The last time I went with my nephews they were a couple of months and a year and a half old! This time they are 4 and 5i!

We're locals. So we'll be in the parks all year long.
That said, we'll be checking into Disney resorts twice in 2008. Once for a couple nights during Gay Days and then again in late September for our Disney Commitment Ceremony, or as I refer to it: "Our Big Fat Gay Disney Wedding.":lmao:
We're also doing a 3 night Disney Cruise the weekend after the ceremony.

I usually go down about 5 or 6 times a year ... blame it on family in the area and DVC (it makes it too easy!!). So far next year I've only got my March trip booked, staying at AKV. Typically I go down in March, May, October, December and then whenever I throw another trip in. May & December I usually take my Mom down, the other trips are either with someone or solo.
And since I leave tomorrow I shouldn't even be posting here, I need to pack!

December of 08, it's looking like we are going to be there from the 10th to the 19th! Two of our best WDW trips have been during the holiday season and I can't wait to do it again. We have gone to WDW a total of 6 times together. My partner has been about 100 times and I have been about a dozen times in my lifetime. I just can't get enough.

Thanks for the welcome....I'm very active on my two other main threads (The Eastbound TransAtlantic thread from this past summer and the Double Dip thread for next fall).....so I'm not a TRUE lurker.....it's just if I get involved in too many threads it becomes a full time job to keep up because I get too chatty!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hoping for December of 08! We won't be there this December and we weren't there last December. However, two of our best WDW trips have been during the holiday season and I can't wait to do it again.
Jason and I are going this December....our first every Holiday trip to WDW so we're super excited!  In fact it's a big year of Disney firsts for us because we're doing our first ever trip to DisneyLand in CA the first week of Nov. and then our first Holiday time trip to WDW the first week of Dec.!

We've planned for Gay Days and mid-Aug, 2008. The Aug trip will be 1 of 2 things, either my parents over their wedding anniversary (they were last in Disney in 1977, that is not a typo) or my neice and her aunt on her father's side, who is a good friend and my knitting buddy (yes, I said knitting. I am a scarf ace, say hello to my needle, friend :rotfl2: ).

Me and the other half are going down in early May, super discounted (medical conference) rates at Yacht Club. Looking forward to ExEver, V&A, and sorry die hards - Aquatica! As a hotel architecture buff, hoping to get glimpses of the CR DVC and of course, the new Four Seasons and Waldorf hotels.

I am a lurker too. I have worked for Disney twice here in CA.
My wife and I are looking to go in late march or earily April. We have gone the last two years the end of april.
This year we will be staying at a DVC as we bought it last time we were there and i was a cast member. =)
It will be the two of us and our 1 year old son and almost ( a couple of weeks shy) 3 year old daughter, maybe even the kids godmother not sure yet.

Hello everyone! I've been on the boards before, but it was quite a while ago.
My GF and I will be going on a Disney cruise to Costa Maya leaving October 28, 2008. Woo! We'll probably also be staying a few days in a Disney resort to go to the parks.
We just decided yesterday and booked the tickets so I am THRILLED. I knew I had to get back on the boards ASAP. :goodvibes

Ha, no my BF and I wanted to, but I was afraid it would shock the grand parents to much LOL :rotfl: Just kidding, the entire family is cool.
But the real reason we are not coming down till the 14th-22nd is that one of the people is a teacher and she didn't want to go down any earlier.
I so want to go that first weekend in June sometimes.

Well bad news, it looks like I may not be able to make the Sept trip I have planned next year. My DBF just started a new position in his company, and he is not allowed to take off from Sept till the end of the year. What a yucky thing to have to deal with.
So unless he gets a new job at a different company (which he has been looking for a while) we wont be able to go till Feb 09  :headache: But we have till early Aug to cancel the trip, so we are gonna just wait and see if he gets a new job between now and then......

How exciting! Your first DCL trip!
My hubby and I are cruising in Sept. on the Double Dip on Sept. 27th.....there is a thread (that's been stagnant for a while) called "Gay Couples on Disney Cruises" or something...maybe post there....also look at Cruise meet threads and see if there is a thread yet for your cruise. If so, even though it isn't a queer-specific thread, post a hello there and just introduce yourselves. you'll be surprised if you don't get some replies right on the boards from the more open-minded and welcoming cruisers and often other queer couples will PM you to say Hi. Is there a lounge at the Poly that has TVs? My DW and I were planning a day of bus roulette for Jan 20th (since her family arrives and we will be tied down scheduling-wise on the 21st). But, then she noticed that it was NFL Championship weekend and wants to watch football. I can probably restrict her to the AFC game.
So, we'll go back to the resort if needed. But, if there's a good lounge somewhere, we'd head for it--and I'd get to say 'hi' to you.
I tried posting this question on the Resorts board but only got information about pool bars which are usually smoking areas.
So, since you're looking for visitors, I thought I'd ask here. :)

There is a TV at the lounge near Ohana. It gets pretty crowded there with the restaurant right next door though. I also work mornings, so I'm out of here before kickoff :goodvibes

It's good to know there's a TV, sad that you'll be gone though.
Does "mornings" mean before noon? I doubt we'll make it out too early that day since we arrive late the night before, but, if we end up nearby, I'll try to say hello.

Okay... so I'm really bored today and decided that since we've almost got our dates confirmed for 2008, I'd check this thread to see who'd be down there when. And then I decided since I really have nothing better to do (well I do, but I'm not sure I'm ready to officially tackle my other projects yet) I'd make up a listing of who's going when so people can see and possibly plan any impromptu meets etc. Anyway, so I'm going thru the posts and realize most of you don't have actual dates for your trips. Long story short.. here is the list of who's going to be Disney'ing when. If I missed anyone please let me know. Also if you want me to add your actual dates you can post them or PM them to me and I'll keep this post updated as best I can.

I loooooovveee FW. I worked there for 3 years and it's still one of my favorite places.
Are you in a partial hook-up site? If so, the 1500 loop is great because it puts you right near the Meadows area. It does back up to the 1600 loop, so you will be near a pet loop. Most pets that camp are very well behaved though, and I havent ever heard anyone in 1500 complain.

I love the Fort too -- my all-time dream job would be to be the pony wrangler.
We are actually going to be staying at one of the preferred sites (so we'd get cable -- I made this ressie waaaaay back before the writer's strike and was afraid I'd miss an episode of "Lost". Pitiful -- huh? :happytv: It's still all good -- cause I like the resort station too -- WDW music! Oooooh!). I requested loop 100 or 200 so we'd be close to the beach and the fireworks (I'll be baby-sitting some number of grandchildren at least one night and it would great to be able to walk back from the fireworks instead of taking a bus.) A request is just a request so who knows what'll happen. I'm sure it will be fun -- no matter where we end up.:goodvibes
You are right about the pet-loops. I ended up in one on my last visit and it was fine! Everybody's pups were super-friendly -- getting licked-half-to-death was the only hazard that I encountered. :)
I am going to be cooking several nights -- you, Mr. Mike, and anybody else for that matter are certainly welcome to join us. I would totally love to put faces to names!

The 100 and 200 loops are great, although since they are part of the origional campsites (the resort opened with 200 or so sites iirc), they don't have a very big coquina pad. They are also very popular!! 600, as well as 500 (pet overflow) and 700 (pet loop) are also very close to the settlement, and make great backups if 100 and 200 are full.
And I'll eat anything cooked on a grill. When dining at a campground however, s'mores are the required desert.

Going to be escorted by our 10yr old niece for the first couple of days so we do what SHE wants all the way! :thumbsup2 The last couple of days, we're going to be spending time with Joe's kid sister, her husband and their tiny little newborn son. We likely won't do much if anything with parks when they're around. It's just so we can meet the newest addition and have some much needed family time.

By any chance is anyone going the last week of May (right after memorial day?). I just booked a trip for that time :woohoo:. I wanted to try Gay Days but this was much more doable schedule-wise. Anywho, if anyone is going to be around maybe a trip to Mannequins on the Thursday of that week? Did I get that right?
Bummer! We'll be down the 17th - 22nd, so we'll just miss crossing paths. We haven't been since 2006, so we're very antsy to get back! Have fun!

My next trip to Walt Disney World is in September. I was supposed to go to Disneyland this past February, and I was supposed to go to Walt Disney World next month. However, I had to cancel both trips because of illness in my family. So that's why my September WDW trip is fairly long - 10 nights, counting the three nights at Disney's Vero Beach resort. That'll probably be my only vacation this year, so I wanted to make it count.
So it's Vero Beach Sept. 3 - 6, Animal Kingdom Villas Sept. 6 - 9, and Wilderness Lodge Villas Sept. 9 - 13.

Yes I am....although I must confess I didn't find someone who "shared" my love of Disney....I found someone completely naive to Disney and converted him! :lmao:
We're in a Disney dry spell right now that is killing us!! We haven't been back since December and don't have any plans to go again until September ourselves!! We'll be at AKL Villas (one our two DVC "homes") Sept. 19-Sept. 27th and then on the 27th we board the Magic and are going on the 7-day Western Double Dip cruise with several of our friends from last year's TransAtlantic cruise.
Hi All!
We're now confirmed for Saratoga Springs - 26 Oct - 1 Nov.
This is our first time staying as DVC members and will be at our home resort. We got a 2 BR as we will be taking our best friends (CSPs) and their 1+yr old son (our nephew).:grouphug:
Already making the list of restaurants, etc to reserve in a few weeks. Also planning on doing a 'not so scary' at MK the week that we're there. pirate:

OK I have been a slacker about reading a thread that I started and was even made into a sticky. I know the shame....:rolleyes1  I have not even read the entire thread, but here is my wonderful idea. If there is not already a list of people, dates, and place they are staying on here, I will go through the list and update it on the first post. Does that sound like something everyone would like to see? If not then I will just go back to my slacker ways :confused3 If someone has already done that I will find that when I read through the thread tonight.

My mom and I really enjoyed Gay Days last year. This year we are going for the 4th of July (mom lives out of the U.S. so it would be a non-event if she didn't visit). We will be at Disney's All Star Movies Resort between July 4th and 11th. I know it will be crowded, but we have a family reunion directly following our week at Disney - so this time was best.
I've got my ADR's and am hoping that Thursday will still be a little gay at Pleasure Island.

Correct nothing offical, but they did file paperwork/permits to sell DVC memberships at the CR in a building called Kingdom Tower. So that leads to us all being hopeful. Like Conc said, I'm sure they will not start selling till AKV is close to sold. That or the construction is done and they have to start seeing a return on investment. But I hope its not to soon, I see it being 2 years till I can pull DVC membership off. :lmao:

Hmmm...interesting. We specifically asked the question whether or not that was going to be DVC property and he said he no knowledge of a plan for it to be DVC. I am sure they can't say anything if they actually know until it is "official." With kids in our future it would be so nice to be that close to MK.

Heading back down to Disney from September 6 to September 13. We're staying at the Polynesian this time (read my review of the Grand Floridian from 2007).
We've been planning our next vacation since last year, but today, we decided to go to our travel agent. We were pretty heart set on Asia up until a few weeks ago when we started getting information from some of my contacts about visa issues and just overall political/social unrest. So we go into the see our agent and in about 10 minutes time, we booked our room at the Polynesian our Deluxe dining and park tickets.
We then went out for lunch at Panera, surfed the web a little, made some dining choices and made all of our dining reservations (love the deluxe plan with three table service credits a day). Then we came home, booked our flights and a Mercedes E class for the week.
It's going to be a really nice vacation again this year! We were lucky to get some really nice dining reservations at places we really wanted to eat at, with only one place being a problem (Cinderella's Castle - which is pretty much a given).
So, look for the bleach blonde boy and me walking around the parks in a few months.

Well, the 2100 loop in the "high" numbers puts you near a path to the Meadows area for an easy walk to the main pool and the Campfire sing-a-long.
2500 loop puts you right near the cabin area pool, and 2600 puts you right across the street from that pool.
There is a bus stop at the entrance of every cabin loop, so it's always good to request near the end of a loop (unless you're renting a golf cart, those are a blast and make transport super-easy).

Your doing a great job with the list! :thumbsup2
As of right now, we are staying at CSR instead of the Poly for our September trip. Can you please update that for us?
I was really hoping to POR when we decided to dial it down a notch, but they were sold out of King Rooms with a AAA discount. I remain hopeful that a code will save me.

ReHi everyone, long time no chat
Anywho, the better half and I will be going back for the Food and Wine....and wine....and wine...and maybe a beer or two festival this September for 6 nights, staying at CBR on the bounceback discount. Possibly going to the MNSSHP thing too, but that is still up in the air. We are going decicedly LESS commando style this time, and no that is not a comment on undergarments LOL. We only have 2 ADRS, can you believe it? We may starve, who knows. Eating at Brown Derby for the Fantasmic Package and Ragland Road, other than that who knows.....Anywho, hope ya'll are well!

I'm planning a trip for Sept. or early November.
It's my first time actually having to do the planning. There's so much stuff to go over in terms of costs and offers and tickets. :faint:

just read the posts around here until we decided to finally
participate. Just wondering who else is going in

Maybe we'll see you around!
We'll be at AKL, SSR, Poly (much to ConcK's delight, although we're slumming it in a garden view room so don't know if we'll bump into him or not), and AKV. That's what happens when you buy into DVC less than 3 months before your trip - you end up piecing things together in a very disjointed sort of way! Oh, well. It will be interesting if nothing else! :rotfl2:

We are going to be at WL (hoping to switch to Poly) if not too much $$ from Jan. 15 - 19th to surprise my mom for her 60th! My parents spend the entire month on January at FW! Not sure how much fun it will be, but it something we "have" to do - lol!

An entire month, that is amazing! I would do a luxry RV for a month, but sure as heck no tent! I love FW by the way, its a fun place. Or at least it was when I was a kid. :rotfl:

Pretty much the whole #100 loop is "Snow Birds" in the winter, but Disney does not give them the break they used to. Lots of great people over there! I'm sure ConcK has stories!

If I won the lottery, and bought one of those expensive RV's for say $750,000 I could spend a month there then. :worship: No really I could, now my BF is a totally different story. :rolleyes1

Oh do I!!
One of my favorite couples are the Zimmermans (formerly of the 600 loop, when it went preferred they moved to 1100 'cause they have satellite). Mrs. Z bakes the most AMAZING rum cakes ever!! She used to bring them to the front desk for pretty much any holiday or special occasion. It's been over 2 years since I had any of her rum cake now and I still dream about it :cloud9:
