Has anyone taken this excursion?
We were wondering if you were allowed spend your time on the beach at Trunk Bay or if you were just offshore and had to swim/snorkel from the boat?
Only one of our family really wants to snorkel, the rest of us just want to enjoy the beach.
We took the St John Trunk Bay beach and snorkel tour last year and seemed to have very little time to enjoy the beach.
Thanks for any information!

Yes, if you prefer, you may enjoy the beach instead.

This is definitely worth the trip. We went last year and it was the highlight of our trip. I played on the beach w/our 3 year old and my DH and DS (11) went snorkeling. The beach is beautiful and peaceful. We have been to many other beautiful beaches in Maui and in the Carribean, but this is our favorite. Don't miss it!

this was by far one of the BEST parts of our trip. the snorkeling is absolutely FANTATSIC! it is soo amazing. what a lot of people did is snorkel part of the time and sit on the beach part of the time. the beach is also very beautiful. you defenitely need to highly consider taking this excursion. it was worth the money!

If this is the trip aboard the Leylon, this is an excellent excursion. My husband and I love to snorkel but my daughter is only 4. It allowed both of us to do what we wanted. I wanted the beach for my daughter and myself. My husband got to snorkel. Great boat ride over to Trunk Bay.

If you want more time, you can do the excursion on your own. You take a taxi to the water taxi, and then the water taxi over to Trunk Bay. My hubby, I, daughter and friends did this last year, and we got an extra 1-2 hours in. The Disney Cruise excursion crowd left at least an hour before we did. You do have to watch your time, and plan for delays. It's up to your comfort level. If you want to play it safe, do the Disney excursion. But as long as you watch your time, you'll be fine, and get more out of doing it on your own! Cost is probably about the same either way!
