I did have to ask to have a manager change my room. I asked for top floor, of course once again I was given the ground floor..I only asked for top floor to avoid ground floor...I thought if they fell short a floor or two we would still be OK. So much for that strategy. With no males in the party and children that is my one "no go"...Stocking the studio was not done properly but was corrected..After those few glitches it as wonderful! Of BCV, VWL and BWV the boardwalk is my new favorite...It was the only place where the CM's actually said "welcome home"..they were helpful and friendly and I loved passing by the juggler etc when we were going in or out..The children got balloons even some toys from bell services. The boat to MGM or walk to Epcot can't be beat either... The room was clean and in good condition. Check- in told me they are about to be refurbished shortly. Enjoy!
They sent a survey and received an excellent report card!

We just returned and it was wonderful!! Like the previous poster we got the exact opposite room of what we requested. We always specifically request a NON-HA room (I have small children, and don't like that my 3 year old can reach the stove top, etc.). Well, our room wasnt ready in the late morning (no biggie)...but when we got in at 7 and realized it was HA, we immediately called front desk. I dont know if all HA rooms have no walk-in closet or breakfast bar, but this one did not (it was #2068). I have 3 kids ages 8, 6 & 3....the closet is a plus for luggage/laundry storage and the breakfast bar is a must!! The room itself was smaller than the average 1br. Well, when we called down they said they could move us in the AM, but we needed to come to the front desk now to fill out "paper-work" to ensure availability. Well, when we went down I explained at desk and they switched us immediately to 3119!!! Room was in excellent condition! Our stay was delightful!!

Just do a search. You'll find tons of happy campers, including this BWV trip report (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1539457) from me. :)

We were there in August for 12 nights in a standard view 1 bedroom. It was our first trip home and we loved it. Didn't really notice any wear issues. Were there some maintenance issues. Sure but they were minor and always handled quickly with a call maintenance. Our room was in a great location. We were on the fourth floor with easy access to the stairs. It was a short walk down to the quiet pool and if we exited out the front side of the resort we were 500 feet from the bus stops. We only used the elevators for those days we were going to Epcot or MGM. I hope that we get a similar room for our next trip.

We just got home Friday. Had a 2 bdrm, 4th floor Boardwalk View for me, DH, DD and her husband. Rooms were immaculate, view was great (as usual), all equipment and supplies were present and accounted for. Our Owners Locker was waiting for us with all our vacation "stuff" and the Food & Wine Fest was a blast!.

Only thing that kept it from being a perfect vacation was that it was too short! DH says my vision ofthe perfect vacation is one that lasts "just a couple of days longer".:lmao:

We had a really great stay at BWV in June - the beautiful view was enough to make up for any minor negatives. :thumbsup2

We were at BWV last month, and will be returning again next week!:cool1:

The experience was great, and my brother-in-law and sister-in-law were seriously impressed with their boardwalk view studio.

My guess is that positive experiences outnumber negative experiences by 10 to 1. Please remember to take negative trip reports with a grain of salt, and not to let outstanding trip reports raise your expectations to impossible-to-meet standards.

It's been exactly a year since we stayed at BWV, but we loved it. Certain things will happen no matter where you go, but everything for us was a positive. Great resort and great location.

We had a 1BR Boardwalk View in September. The cable in the MBR wasn't working and the light was out in the shower stall. I called and they came IMMEDIATELY!! I was pleasantly surprised. The resort is great, the CMs are great, and my friends were really impressed.

I am so glad to hear about these positive trip reports. I have a 2 drm.Boardwalk View ressie for April 2008. This will be my first trip in a Villa. The Inn side was great. So I hope all goes well. I have heard about the noise, late check-ins, moldy tubs, lack of house keeping. So I am trying to stay positive about my upcoming trip, and hope that any or all of those mentioned problems can be dealt with. Maybe I won't get any of them at all!:thumbsup2

We were in a boardwalk view 2-bedroom 9/23-9/29. The BWVs were as wonderful as they have been every trip. The castmembers were great, room was clean, view was spectacular, entertainment was fun, we found available pool chairs and tables every time we went swimming, and you can't beat the proximity to EPCOT and Disney Studios. I haven't a negative thing to report about our recent trip to the Boardwalk Villas; we can't wait to return.:thumbsup2

Side Note: We ate at Spoodles for the first time and loved it. Great restaurant - loved the apps.

We stayed at BWV after our cruise last month.

We were lucky and able to check in very early (9:30am), the room was clean and in good condition (studio). We had a great stay there.

Got back on Oct 2nd after a stay in a 2-bedroom with a boardwalk view and loved it! :thumbsup2 We had never stayed there before. I never got around to requesting a certain floor before the trip but ended up with the 3rd floor and was very happy with that. Great view of Illuminations! My DD, DM, and DB came with us too and everyone raved about the room and the resort!

And remember, little things always come up whether it's with the hotel, restaurant, parks, etc... But those shouldn't ruin the trip and lead to negative reviews. I could have let a few things on this trip ruin the Disney magic for me, like a little girl getting sick in front of me at the dinner buffet at CP, or the very large cockroach roaming the Laugh Floor waiting area :crazy2: , but I didn't let it! I was just so happy to be in Disney and to have experienced the BWV!

Though we own at BWV, we've only been there 3 times. However, we have been to BCV and just find for ourselves that BWV is really great, and I think for adults in particular that BWV is an active and cool place to stay. You can't beat the walk to the park. Adults are more comfortable with BWV.

I am sure you will find many people saying BWV is great for the family, and I can't object..... I can just tell you that it is the greatest for adults (at WDW).

I was at the Boardwalk in July and August. In July we had a 2 bedroom standard view. I think we got into our villa around 3pm. Which for us is the earliest we've gotten into a 2br. Usually it's between 4 and 5. It was in great shape and on the 1st floor. We don't make requests and it always works out okay. We were really close to the doors that are behind Leaping Horse Libations.

In August, dd16 and I had a boardwalk view studio. We were in our room by 11:30am. It was wonderful. The room and the view. I don't know if we've just been lucky. But whenever, I've arrived with one of the dd's for a studio, it's been ready. btw, I am offically spoiled now. I loved that bw view.

We stayed in a 1 bdrm preferred view (looked out at tower of terror and the quiet pool) in August. It was on the fourth floor. Not too far down the loooooonnnnnnng hallway. Everything was great. It was our first stay there.

This is great to hear, our family is all adults now! With the youngest at 18, I thought this would be more to their liking. Didn't get to see everything on the Boardwalk last year, as it was a commando trip, trying to see all the parks, etc. This time, I plan to relax a little more! Famous last words!:wizard:

We stayed in a 1 bedroom preferred view in August and loved it. We were about as far down the hall as you could get but that was no problem for us. We used the stairway to come and go mostly. A quick walk around the corner and we were on the Boardwalk near Atlantic Dance. Could see the fireworks from Epcot from there and it was a smoking area for DH. The room was in good condition and the view of the Swan and Dolphin at night was great. We'd stay there again. Loved having the Boardwalk so near, the boats to Epcot and MGM were convenient. We walked to Epcot and back a couple of times as well as to the Studios. Even in the August heat the walk wasn't bad.

We're having a positive BWV trip right now! Now this trip doesn't fully qualify because it did get off to a bad start -- we didn't get the room until 8pm due to housekeeping overlooking it (a long story and I will follow up with a letter) but fortunately the wait paid off. The room is clean, we have a great view of the boardwalk and the fireworks. This is the view from the bedroom window:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/data/500/81115ViewFromBedroom.jpg

And this is the same view as seen from the jacuzzi (and it's even better after dark.) Nothing like a nice relaxing soak in the jacuzzi with a view of SE!

Great pics!! So glad to hear your having a great trip. I must say, I'm getting nervous about the late checkin. I still need to buy airfare for 6 people, two which are coming from LA, CA. They will pretty much be getting in late, but for the rest of us, the flight is only 2 hrs. Should I plan on a later flight so as not to have to wait all day? But then that may affect my checkin request getting in too late. An then there's the question of when to get the groceries delivered? Still trying to figure all this out....the late check in is causing some problems.

LisaS - I'm not sure i'd sound so calm; 8:00 p.m. check in is unacceptable IMO. Hopefully, you will receive a phone call after you send your letter indicating acknowledgement of the issue.

When we had such a bad experience @ BCV; i was happy when I got a phone call after I fired off my letter of complaint. Validation I suppose; just wanted someone in authority to address the issue and make sure it didn't happen again to another guest:wizard: .

While it's important that management be advised of any problems while onsite; i believe a letter to the Disney executive offices is insurance of sorts for continued DVC top-notch service.

I recently spent a few nights at the BWV - mid September. I got exactly what I requested in a room - I had a preferred view and asked to be close to the elevator. I was over Wyland Galleries, on the fifth floor with a great view. Room was spotless - couldn't find dirt if I tried (and I tried ;) )

Was everything 100% perfect? No - this is real life - nothing is perfect :confused3. Are the imperfections even worth mentioning? Nope - because the place was gorgeous, the room and view exceptional - the service top notch. We throughly enjoyed our time there, spent alot of time at the pool, one night at Jellyrolls, dined at Big River Grille one afternoon.

It is my favorite resort, which is why we purchased there, and I can't wait to get back. Actually I've never had a bad enough situation or experience to make me negative about the place.

Keep :)

We just had a fabulous time at BWV! It was our first trip "home". We did stay in a two story grand villa and it was awesome! It was even ready when we got there. My ONLY complaint is that the dryer really didn't work well--a small thing--except we used it a couple times a day with 3 families. I love the view from the balconies and the proximity to Epcot and MGM can't be beat! The only other place I'd buy is if they do a resort on the monorail.

We stayed for a week in July and thought it was incredible. Room ready when we got there. Upper floor request room, pool view and we got it. Not a long walk anywhere. Pool was great. Of course the location was great. The only negative was no food court. I would stay there again hands down! It is up there with my favorites. :thumbsup2

We stayed in Sept, and had such a great time that we considered an add on there. Our room was pretty far down the hallway, but I couldn't understand why people would think it was too far of a walk. We didn't mind the air conditioned walk at all. Dh and I would "race" the girls in their strollers around the little sitting area and they loved it.
The only thing that bugged me, and this is small, are that the windows in the hallway are absolutely filthy. Every time we overlooked Luna park pool, we had to look through a dirt covered windows. Minor detail, but one that could easily be fixed.

We had our 1st BWV trip in April with the in-laws in a 2 bdrm and a studio. We were thrilled! It wasn't perfect, but close enough! Several things like the valet went very well, and we had a few minor problems as you can see below, but it was all very minor, and not bad for 9 people.:grouphug:

The Good:

The boardwalk view was spectacular.
(1st good view we've ever had at WDW!):yay:
The room was in excellent shape.
The valet service provided some of the best customer service I have ever seen anywhere.
We had room service because I was sick  and it was outstanding.
Check-in was quick for Disney and went very smoothly. They provided my niece and nephews 1st time visitor pins and DSIS and DBIL anniversary pins.
Bus and Boat service to the parks were outstanding.
Bell services did a wonderful job, and we brought in a ton of stuff.
The grounds and the pool were in great shape
.

The slightly annoying:

It was almost 5pm getting in the room.
Slow drain in 1 bathroom sink. (Fixed)
Sisters non-adjoining studio was not close by at all as requested. We were told in advance that it might not be close because of smoking, but they didn't get the smoking request either. [Smoking request is now a mute point.]
The concierge desk didn't put our tickets on our room keys when we went through the process. (Had trouble getting in Epcot.)
The concierge desk put charging privileges on my 8yo niece's princess: card and not my DBIL's card. (No big deal, he had to keep up with her card anyway -- and he just presented that card instead.):rolleyes1

BTW, there must not be a bad boardwalk view because we didn't have one. 2nd floor over Big River Grille.:cloud9:

We usually stay at BWV at least 2-3 times/year and aside from minor issues, we've been quite happy with our villas. Yes, sometimes it's been obvious that not all areas were vacuumed as well as they should have been (our granddaughter found money under one of the sofas; she thought Mickey had left it for her :rotfl: ), but all problems were addressed while we were there. :thumbsup2
In reading some of these posts, I do realize that we have been very lucky...........in all our years of visiting BWV, we've never had to wait past 4pm for our villa, and most of the time, it's ready well before then. :goodvibes

Our trip was in January - but it was great as always. WAAAYYYY down the hallway - but we request that. We always get BW view and there is a better view of Epcot from there. We race down the hall too (never late at night or early in the morning!). Room was clean and lovely. Check in was fine - room ready by about 3pm. For our next January trip, our flight doesn't get in until 10pm, so I am hoping our room is ready when we get to the hotel! :)

We spent 5 nights in a 1 BDR in June for our first trip "home" and loved it.
We were in our room by 10:30. It was right next to the stairway which was very convenient for the 1 smoker in our group. Small problems such as light bulbs being burnt out were promptly taken care of. Can't wait for 58 days to pass to go back again. Our first December trip!! 5 nights followed by 3 night Wonder cruise.
