I was very comfortable in the Territories Lounge in WL.
I was pretty much ignored by the bartender when I was solo at Victoria Falls ...I hope it was just a bad night, though, I usually love that place and get great service when I'm with my DH.
Francisco's Lounge in CSR is a fun place to sit and meet people, too.

Ok Barb - because I am a party girl I guess I would prefer to be at a place where I can people watch so I choose - Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk and 8Trax in PI.... Haaa I think you'll have fun where ever you land if you have the right frame of mind - You look as if you have loads of fun stuff planned out..

PM me with what this all about "Sept 9 2007 - Tink made a permanent landing on my shoulder" hope all is well with you? Michelle

Tambu lounge is at the poly. Love to sit and people watch in the afternoon. And the bartender that seems to always be there (wish I could remember his name) is great!

Yep - lived in Houston 2 years now. In the Heights and I love it. And I may be visiting the wedding boards soon. ;) ;) (hope DBF doesn't see the hint here)

Wow, this is a great thread! I agree with everyone about the Tune-In Lounge, DH & I went there for the first time our last visit and had a blast. Thank goodness for Disney transportation!;) And glad to hear Victoria Falls in there since that will be our home in 12 days from today! We will also have to check out the Dawa Bar & Tambu Lounge!

Thanks for the great info!!:thumbsup2

I agree, Raglan Road, ESPN, Rose & Crown, the Tune-In Lounge and the Dawa Bar (see my avatar) are some of our favorites. We've also gone to the Rainforest Cafe (both), Wolfgang Puck's, HOB, and (surprisingly) Fulton's Crab House - their bar is really nice. I think you can sit outside on the boat, too, and people watch. Always fun.

I could go on and on...

Just discovered another bar to sit at, with a full menu, no less. It's the bar at the new Yak & Yeti in AK. Not much going on there, it's true, but it's comfortable (best bar chairs in the world!), and you can get a bite to eat without reservations if it's not crowded. Cool decor, too.

Oh, and forgot to mention another all-time favorite of mine...House of Blues at DTD. Fun atmosphere, almost always a place to sit and eat (try the VooDoo Shrimp...to die for!), great servers at the bar inside. Outside, you can sit at the little tables and listen to music while having a cocktail.

Don't get too comfy in those bar chairs! Last time I ate at the bar at Yak and Yeti (12/4) Sara informed me that the chairs were going to be replaced the next day. She was really disappointed because she agreed that they were the most comfortable bar chairs they were getting rid of! BTW, eating at the bar is fun at Yak and Yeti, but when I was there, the atmosphere is so nice that I found I kept trying to crane my neck around to see everything.

We also enjoyed hanging out at House of Blues. We stopped there before the Cirque du Soleil show LaNouba, not a good idea then though because I had to use the bathroom twice during the performance! I apologized profusely to the people I was disrupting as I was leaving our row.

Another vote for Raglan Road too, DH & I really liked the atmosphere there, and no Pleasure Island charge!

And I will also have to put in a vote for Victoria Falls at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, it's located above the Boma restaurant so you can sit and people watch or sit at the bar and chat with the excellent bar staff!:thumbsup2

Then I got lucky, because the chairs were there on the 11th...maybe they decided to keep them, after all. Or maybe the new ones were delayed...

You got it sister!! What a fun time we had! :thumbsup2 Next fall I am dragging you kicking and screaming to the Gurgling Suitcase. ;)

I do have to say my favorite bar on property is the Suitcase. Second fave is the Dawa bar, but with the new Tusker house setup, it has lost some of it's magic with people standing around waiting on a table. Also love Jellyrolls, House of Blues, OuterRim, Tambu, Mitnzer's or however you spell it, Victoria Falls, Raglan Road, the margarita shack at the Marketplace, Turf Club, and oh, how could I forget the pool bar at GF. I just love that view. :)

We also love the ESPN club for Pats and Red sox game. We will be there next week to watch Boston College play

Another New Englander............was with you until you got to that Boston College part :rotfl: - I'm a UConn grad & fan:cheer2: - but diehard Pats and Sox fan.

Anyway - we love ESPN...a majority of the time we in WDW during March Madness, and we arrange our touring around game times! They NEVER rush you if you are there to see a game, which is great. We also like sitting upstairs in 8TRAX in PI having a drink and watching the dancing. It just cracks me up to see the younger crowd dancing to this music - I'm giving my age away but that was the HS/College music I listened to - and a good deal of the "kids" weren't even born then! We also enjoy the Margaritta place in Mexico at Epcot, and we also find it's nice to sit out at the pool bar at our resort (we usually stay at POFQ). Being in the sun and warmth in March sipping a frozen drink, remembering how cold and icy/snowy it might be in CT just makes the experience so much more enjoyable! Last year we even got an early morning call at our resort from my family (well, really my BIL) in CT, telling us that he had just stepped in a puddle of slush up to his ankle in a parking lot, and how he just really "hated" us then because we were in Florida! DH and I high fived each other - our timing was just perfect!

Mizner's at GF is wonderful. You can usually hear the music from the lobby. And they have a great selection of martinis, as well as other cocktails, wines, and beers.

Victoria Falls at AKL is another favorite. The atmosphere is what puts this one over the top.

Scat Cat's Club at POFQ was a truly unique experience. I was actually pointed out for singing along (had a few drinks and didn't realize I was doing it :rolleyes1 ) Great for a little nibble too.

Thanks!

Not really sure about this but I would think you could without an ADR. Although, anytime I've dined there (5 times in all) the lounge seats were always full. Might have to wait or get there before 6 pm or after 9pm. Might want to check Disney Dining Reservations for info (407) 939-DINE or the dining section of www.allearsnet.com. You could always sit up at the kitchen too.

We (me, DH, my sisters and mom) are partial to the Crew's Cup. (We love the Y&BC, so it's convenient.) Had a nice time New Year's Eve '06 at the AKL bar before our dinner at Jiko. I can't remember the name---it's upstairs from the restaurant... Oh, the Rose & Crown! Good atmosphere. My older sis and I introduced our dad to Black & Tans there the last time we went with him before he died. So it's a sentimental favorite. We also love to get champagne or kir royales at the outdoor stand in France and drink them while we watch the fireworks.

And many more...

I am Chinadoll's sis...I will second all of the above, and add that it's also fun to take the Black and Tan's across to the gardens behind the shops in the UK and sit a spell, particularly if the British Invasion is performing.

We have also had a nice drink once in the Bellvue Lounge at the Boardwalk....

We've also had some fun at Jellyrolls, but that's a bit more involved than simply sitting and enjoying a drink!

I don't know if you got your answer yet, but I will answer anyway. You do not need a reservation to go up to Cali grill for a drink and appetizer. Infact you can just let the check-in desk know that you want to go up to the bar for a drink because there is no ressies needed for the bar. When my DH and I went in June (first time there) we did have reservations to the restaurant, but afterwards decided to have a drink at the bar. We became real friendly with the bartender and she told us to come back that Friday night because that was when the action was really happening (we went on a Wednesday when there was not much going on). She was the one that told us not to worry about ressies.

With that being said, our favorite bar to relax and have a drink is at Cali Grill. Nothing beats a glass of wine in hand while looking out at the amazing view of the Magic Kingdom and Seven Seas Lagoon (that is also our favorite place to watch Wishes). Our secod choice is the Tambu Lounge in the Poly. Just love the atmosphere of the tropics and then having a live hula dance with a live singer and Ukelalie (spelling???) is just pure magic.

Cat Walk was our favorite bar too! We spent a long time their Dec 31, 1999! Since it wasn't on the map, it wasn't crowded. Probably the only place in MGM that day!

Since then our favorites are Jellyrolls, and the outdoor bar by the pool at Coronado Springs. Which sounds really good right now since the wind chill outside is negative 30!:beach:

I know its more an evening/night time drinking hole but i'd just like to say that i dont think you can beat JELLYROLLS! Yes it is expensive if you want 'your' songs played but it is truely awesome! Loads of good natured fun!

Having said that i cant think of a 'BAD' bar in WDW. Love them all!:cool1:

The piano player's name is Bob Jackson and we love going to POR lounge just to hear him. He has his own website that we check often to see his schedule so that we can plan our visits. He is usually there from Wednesday to Saturday nights.

What type of music does he play - old piano faves like Sweet Caroline to sing along to? Or just backgraound music?

My title could be for drinks or bars...
Being an experienced WDW bar patron...
The Gurgling Suitcase - OKW a little bar that makes you feel very welcome
Tune in Lounge - it's great to watch the families come through as well as just relax from the Studios race
Mizners - Grand Flo - One of my favs - good for a couple or a group of friends and the staff is great - Hi Christine!!!
Rose and Crown - give me a PINT!!! Go in the International Gateway entrance and you are right there.
The Outer Rim - the view is great
Raglan Road - live music and dancing
Maniquins - feeling a little freaky - check out the revolving dance floor...

Maybe I have a problem....:drinking1

Territory Lounge at Wilderness Lodge is the prettiest bar on property, in my opinion.

I'm also very fond of:

Victoria Falls at Animal Kingodm Lodge

Gurgling Suitcas at Old Key West

Flying Fish

California Grill

Pool bar at Wilderness Lodge

He definitely does not play background music! His show is VERY interactive and involves the audience on every song. They are usually "sing alongs", with an occasional one that shows off his piano skills to end each break . I don't think that I have ever seen a performer get into his show more. During his brief breaks he walks through the front room speaking with folks to fi nd out where they are from and then incorporates the names and places into the show. If you prefer to watch and listen then you can sit in the back. He is definitely "high energy" as you may be able to tell from his photos on his website. Highly recommended! :thumbsup2
