We'll be on there as well! I have heard in the past that there was some kind of festivities but I think it all depends on where the ship is on the 4th. Since the 4th is on Thur (Day at Sea) I'm not sure what if anything is planned. I'm anxious to hear what other Independance Day cruisers have experienced.:D

Hi,
We were on the magic last year on the 4th of July. No fireworks. They had balloons to fall in the main lobby with champagne and finger foods. Nothing spectacular. What was great was the day we were in St. Thomas, St. John was celebrating the 4th with a parade. It was awesome. Great costumes and music. We did our own excursions to trunk bay and had plenty of time to see the parade on the way back. I believe the parade started around noon and it was still going on after 5:00 pm. The only bad thing was the taxie could only go so far, then we had to walk the rest of the way to the ferry, it was probably 1/2 ml we walked.
We felt like we were in the parade! Great food too! have a great time.

fireworks on a boat????....
i would imagine anyone who lit up anything on a ship would be spending more than a little time confined to quarters....on land...as in a jail....
that has to be one of the most dangerous things i've ever heard anyone suggest....

Hi,
My fiancee and I will also be on that cruise for our honeymoon.....very excited...we were also wondering if there was any special events planned....I have done the eastern carribbean before, but as mentioned, that is a sea day. I think we might get some kind of event, due to all the renewed patriotism....

Im going to beon the July 4th Wonder so I have asked the same thing. I guess once in the past(2 yrs ago maybe?) both ships met up in the ocean on the 4th and had a fireworks display there. Also, they used to always have fireworks at the deck party on the Nassau night, but because of debris landing on other ships in port, they stopped. Too bad they dont do that anymore. Id love to see some fireworks at sea, especially on the 4th.

I'll be on the Magic on the 4th too! Yay, exciting to find other people from our cruise. :D I hope they do something fun - last year on the 4th I was in England, so at least I know that it has to be more festive for me this year than it was last year. ;)

We'll be on the Magic for that sailing as well. I was hoping that there would be fireworks for the 4th too. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

The "fireworks" they used to have in Nassau was more like a "firework." It was kind of neat, but you're not really missing much. We sail almost every Fourth of July, and even though they don't have a fireworks display, they have red, white, and blue decorations and it feels quite festive. We'll be on the Wonder for the holiday, and if I need a patriotism fix, I'll be sure to stop by the American buffet on Nassau afternoon. That has lots of red, white, and blue decortations, and various songs with "America" in the title are playing to add to the ambiance (the food is awesome, too, although I think the taco bar is stretching the America theme :smooth: ).

We're RETURNING on the Wonder on the 4th and had considered heading back to Orlando to watch the fireworks at one of the parks. However, we've heard some pretty scary stories about crowds so our plans now are to hang in Cocoa Beach and watch the display off of Ron-Jon's.
Any thoughts?

Even though we don't see a display on our 4th of July Wonder cruises, we are usually treated to a gorgeous ariel view of fireworks on the way home. A lot of communities seem to have fireworks displays on that Sunday, and a couple times we've been on an after-dark flight, so it's a real treat to watch them.

I was on the Magic two years ago for the fourth of July and they had fireworks at the Deck Party in Nassau. They were quite nice. Also, on the Maiden Voyage of the Magic back in '98 they had fireworks on Nassau for us as we pulled into Port. The governor or Mayor of Nassu was onboard and it was a welcome back fireworks show (it was during the day so it lost some of its Magic).
