Planning my first trip to DW. Totally overwhelmed with all the info. I am visiting the park Tues and Wed (Dec 4th&5th) and spending one night. I'm thinking Poly. Went to Disney website, quote is $700 for 4. Is there a way to get the room cheaper. I do not belong to any discount clubs.

AAA definitely has good rates. Call WDW and request the AAA rate.

Ditto, I have heard it is worth the $50.00 to join AAA even for the values!

Good question. Probably too late for Gen. public codes which anyone can use. Try AA though. Call Disney and ask them what it would cost for your dates at the AA rate. If it saves you more than $50 (membership to AAA) it is worth it to sign up and become a AAA member.

Are you doing room only for 1 night or are you doing a package? Because if you're doing a package you can make changes to it, they automatically add park hopping and water parks to your tickets, so check that out. $700 for one night only at the Poly seems and awful lot. BTW, I am coming up with 340 for one night at the Poly, you must be doing a package, right? Also are there 4 adults or are there children under 10, under 3??

hmm.. first trip to Disney? "visiting the park"? there are 4 parks to see, and 2 water parks. Are you saying that you are planning to just go to the Magic Kingdom--which is closest to the Polynesian? I don't mean to burst your bubble, but "first trip" caught my attention. I know you haven't asked us, but I thought I'd plunge in. Depending on the time of your arrival on the first day, you may only be getting a day-and-a-half of one park. In that case, it might not be worth the money you are spending just for an overnighter and checking out by 11 a.m. Can you give us more information? maybe we can help you out.
