October Scrapping Challenge - clear the decks!

OK ladies (and gents?), we've got a busy few months coming up photographically with holidays of various sorts, so lets clear our backlogs before the end of the month!

You know the rules, whole pages with journalling count whatever their size, mini-albums etc count - judge how many "page's worth" you think they are, but even tiny ones can be as much work as a 12x12 layout:thumbsup2

I've been in a serious slump after having done three rounds of circle journals, I didn't want to scrap anything. Did lots of library card birthday books, cards and a couple exploding boxes, but no scrapping. Then, Labor Day week, we spent at the World. I got over to Mousememories for a stack of yummy paper, wrote a trip report and by October 1, was ready to scrap, with a goal of finishing before I go back to Florida for the Tower of Terror Party on October 24th.

After reading everybody's progress, tonight, I thought I'd better count up. . . TaDA 26 PAGES! And a 'thank you ' altered paint can full of chocolates for the lady at the doctors office :love: who got my husband's surgery date moved up so that I COULD go to Florida with a quiet heart.

Still not done, but SeaWorld is done, Resort is done, Pirate Party is done, Animal Kingdom is started, but I'm out of that color paper. . .

These are the first two layouts from our trip to Salem/Boston. :) And I did something I NEVER do . . . I handwrote the journaling!!! :eek: I normally hate my handwriting and find it to be quite sloppy, but I wanted to give this album a more personal touch. It sort of turned out nice. We'll see how the rest goes.

And I got to use my two new Cricut carts. YEAH!!! :)

I counted my pages last night and I have 21 for the month.:banana: My goal is to get last Christmas and April's Dis trip scrapped this month. I am about half way through the WDW trip and I haven't even looked at Christmas. It is going to be a million pages! :scared:

1 page for me tonight. I was planning out pages for my crop this weekend and it was easier just to do that one than leave it.

I want to finish this trip's book so badly. The mountain of "stuff" that I've accumulated for this project - paper, brochures and memorablia, journalling notes, swap items, embellishments - is so enormous that it's become impossible to work in my scrap area because I'm constantly moving things around. I need to finish so all that "stuff" can go back into its proper places!

Having said that - this has by far been the most organized album I've ever done. If I don't finish in October I will definitely finish in November and considering we went this April, I'm pretty darn proud of myself! 2001's trip wasn't finished until 2004 and 2004's trip wasn't finished until 2006. 6 months is phenomenal for me!

I leave for Florida on Wednesday morning, So I didn't meet my goal of finishing last trip's album before leaving on the next trip , either. It's 80% done, and the trip report is all written which means the journalling is complete, so I'm happy.

Ok, after cropping on Saturday I have a total of 28 pages for the month! I am working on an album for my Mom. We gave her a surprise 60th bday party so I am doing the album now. I had all her friends sign the book. The party turned out great. She was crying to her bunco friends on the Friday before that we (my sis and I) had forgotten about her bday and weren't going to throw her a party blah, blah, blah. Well the look on her face when they all yelled surprise on Tuesday was well worth it! My sis and I suceeded in throwing a great party!! Just had to share!

I was able to complete more this month than I have scrapped in the past 7 months - so I thank you all! Hope everyone has a great night tonight with their kids and family members. Can't wait till next months challenge!!

I'm so jealous that you got to go to so many National Parks. I'm counting down the days until we can go on Route 66 but we are waiting until DD is older.

Thanks, y'all! It helps to have that week off in October for Fall Break!!

I'm hoping to finish up the September trip book(s) this month before I do SIL's wedding album for her Christmas present.
