This may have been mentioned before, and I just missed it, but when we were at the Fort last week, we noticed the shoe tree is empty!! :confused3

I guess maybe somebody cleans it up once in awhile.

I bet they do clean it up periodically. Here it is from March 2007, it's a lot more naked than it was October 2005. I'll be there next week and maybe someone will add a pair of slightly worn New Balance, men's size 8 ;)

We were there last Saturday & took the boat to the MK & didn't look for the tree. Actually, I'd forgotten all about it! Thanks for the reminder, Rhonda.

Did I mention that I saw a family of otters in Bay Lake on 9/22??

(I otter be shot for bringing this up again!! :rotfl2: )

They do "clean out" the tree from time to time, otherwise eventually I doubt you would even be able to see the tree...lol.

I've never noticed it totally empty, so that's kind of weird. However, I do know that it does get cleaned up from time to time, every time I take a picture it seems shoes are in different places.

Nary a shoe this past Labor Day. I thought maybe I just wasn't looking hard enough!

I asked one of the boat captains today and he said a new VP or something saw it and didn't approve. He said that like anything else if you give it a little time it will come back.He did say that a new pair was up last week but, it appears to have been taken down. Funny, I thought to look at that but forgot to look at the Lawnmower stump:rotfl2: .Anyway, seems like the tree is against policy for now but, it may change.

Just to keep it all in perspective, let's remember that boat captains are like bus drivers in more ways than one ;)

This is really disturbing. I always count on my trips to FW for a new pair of sneakers (size 9 1/2 if anyone is thinking about throwing a pair on the tree). I can usually talk one of the boat captains into swinging by the tree close enough for me to grab a low hanging pair. If not, I have to do a late night commando raid for them. That water is cold in October.
