Mark&sue's Relaxing (boring) August 2007 trip - Day 8

Day 2 of cruise - Friday 24th August

We had a great nights sleep and could hardly feel the ship moving. We could not wait to look out on the balcony to see if we have reached the Bahamas yet.

It is really hot out here but lovely and just feel so special to be able to sit in such a wonderful place. We find the journey into Nassau a breathtaking experience and take some more photos.

What a great view from our bedroom window.

We have some breakfast in Parrot Cay and it is great to bump into Joh again. We take it easy before going on shore to Nassau. Our mission here is to get another Hard Rock Cafe Glass. It does not take long to find and we sit and have a drink as we are too full from breakfast to have anything to eat.

I have a lovely hurricane cocktail in my new glass while Mark has a beer and Kirsty has a diet coke.

Here is my new glass back at home with its brothers and sisters in our kitchen!

It is the dodgy fake looking glass at the end next to the Planet Hollywood glasses. It does rather stand out as being different but I like it as it reminds me of our great cruise

We have another drink and Joh comes in and shows us her wonderful diamonds that Gary has bought her in local diamond stores. She is a lucky girl.

Before we leave I buy myself a t shirt and my friend Vicky a Hard Rock pin and shot glass which she collects.

We go up on the decks and take in our surroundings it is really magical and I can't stop smiling (well I am squinting in this one)

We don't want to eat too much as we have dinner at the adults only restaurant, Palos tonight, so we just have an ice cream

We go to the DVC meeting before we get ready for the show which is great fun and see Joh again who wins a lovely beach towel. I think we are the only family who do not win anything!

We have a DVC magnet on our door and other goodies so can't complain as these DVC points have really been worth it.

Tonight's show is the Golden Mickey's which is just fantastic and has me crying again. All the disney clasic songs and characters. Just wonderful.

I get Kirsty a burger from the snack bar and she goes off to the teen club while we go to Palos.

When my pasta comes out it just has three ravioli cushions and I thought "is that it" however it is delicious. The atmosphere and service is great and I get a bit tipsy on the bubbly.

After our meal we go up to see the pirate party with the fireworks. We meet up with Kirsty and her friends.

It is a great night :cloud9:

We have drinks on the verandah before going to bed and I am so happy to be on this cruise. It just seems to get better each day.

It sounds like you had a fab day, and I love it how the ship turns around to back into Nassau

Palo is fantastic, isn't it ? and it feels like you're somewhere very special

it sounds like you had a wonderful time Sue, how disappointing that you didnt win anything at the DVC meeting, we got a lovely towel last year, the reps doing the presentation made sure that everyone got something they must be getting tight ! Love your collection of glasses
