Well then, why is everybody talking about making resort reservations ?
Pete Werner announced last November 30, 2001 the tenative [color=red]DATES (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=130166) and many of us searched for resort price deals and made reservations for that time period. Some of us are arriving several days early or staying for several days after the convention for extra unofficial DIS mini-meets or spend time with family or...hahaha...just relax and save our energy before the convention or recover after the convention. If the DIS has great package prices some of us will cancel our present reservations and sign up for the package deal, if available. "Whew"
Last year, the 2001, {"NOT the 2002}, Pete Werner set up a thread detailing the prices for resort and event packages and event only registration.
Here is the OLD 2001 (NOT...NOT 2002) DIS-CON-I REGISTRATION (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=1399634) that might give you an idea of what to expect like costs, and F.A.Q.'s and other links that I put together.
Please be patient...it must take a lot of planning to get everything together.
So...why is everyone talking about signing up for these UNofficial DIS mini-meets when there hasn't even been announcement of the official convention and official itinerary?
Last year, we planned a lot of unofficial DIS mini-meets around the official DIS-CON-I events. When the official events were reveiled, we planned around them. We had to change the times every now and then as the official events were tweeked.
But...heah...this is the DIS...we like planning for WDW tips...right!
Linda announced a very, TENTATIVE ITINERARY (http://disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=144583) for the new 2002 DIS-CON-II.
And below is a place to come and to see who is coming "during" 2001 DIS-CON-II, whether you sign up later for the official event or whether you'll just be their unofficially and want to attend the unofficial DIS mini-meets. We had such a great time last year. And you can help plan and host an unofficial event.
Last year, Patinmn (Patrick) made a most excellent unofficial 2001 itinerary (http://www.betatesters.com/patinmn/discon/discon.htm) around the official events that we all used along with the official itinerary at the convention.
Below are several lists.
Some people wanted to know who was going to arrive early, others just wanted to see an alphabetical list to pick out some DIS name easily, and still others wanted to know who was staying at the same resort as they were, especially if a family is moving from one resort to another.
So post your DIS name, your resorts, your dates, and I'll update the list. You don't need all the information. You could just list your name and not the dates nor the resorts.
Below those lists are several possible 2002 unofficial DIS mini-meets that we might have depending on if anyone is interested.

O.K., so I'm getting a little ahead of myself. And I know people may change their minds, change their dates, change their resorts. But, I'm going to try and start three lists. One by dates, one by DIS name and one by resort. Call me crazy. And I'll also start an UNofficial mini-meet list, too. Remember that I work 12-16 hour nights on weekends, so I'll update these lists on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

UN...UN...Unofficial DIS Mini-meets
These mini-meets are just suggestions and are unofficial DIS-CON II mini-meets that are not part of the Official DIS-CON meet that you pay for. The dates, and the times cannot be picked until Mackey Mouse and WebmasterCathyCanada know what the official schedule is. Then they try and pick dates and time around the official times. For a special event like Tea at GF or MK's Keys to the Kingdom Tour, or MVMCP involve extra costs. Most are just a get together of friends and free. You don't have to eat a full meal if at a restaurant if you don't want to, just order a drink or have water, but many require priority seatings(very important) to be made, and park entry, tickets or packages to pay for. Just post on the thread that talks about that particular DIS mini-meet. If you want to, I can also post your name here, or I will try and get the information from the respective thread. Remember, I am just doing this for fun and all this is just for information all in one place.

Well then, why is everybody talking about making resort reservations ?
Pete Werner announced last November 30, 2001 the tenative [color=red]DATES (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=130166) and many of us searched for resort price deals and made reservations for that time period. Some of us are arriving several days early or staying for several days after the convention for extra unofficial DIS mini-meets or spend time with family or...hahaha...just relax and save our energy before the convention or recover after the convention. If the DIS has great package prices some of us will cancel our present reservations and sign up for the package deal, if available. "Whew"
Last year, the 2001, {"NOT the 2002}, Pete Werner set up a thread detailing the prices for resort and event packages and event only registration.

Please be patient...it must take a lot of planning to get everything together.
So...why is everyone talking about signing up for these UNofficial DIS mini-meets when there hasn't even been announcement of the official convention and official itinerary?
Last year, we planned a lot of unofficial DIS mini-meets around the official DIS-CON-I events. When the official events were reveiled, we planned around them. We had to change the times every now and then as the official events were tweeked.
But...heah...this is the DIS...we like planning for WDW tips...right!
Linda announced a very, TENTATIVE ITINERARY (http://disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=144583) for the new 2002 DIS-CON-II.
And below is a place to come and to see who is coming "during" 2001 DIS-CON-II, whether you sign up later for the official event or whether you'll just be their unofficially and want to attend the unofficial DIS mini-meets. We had such a great time last year. And you can help plan and host an unofficial event.
Last year, Patinmn (Patrick) made a most excellent unofficial 2001 itinerary (http://www.betatesters.com/patinmn/discon/discon.htm) around the official events that we all used along with the official itinerary at the convention.
Below are several lists.
Some people wanted to know who was going to arrive early, others just wanted to see an alphabetical list to pick out some DIS name easily, and still others wanted to know who was staying at the same resort as they were, especially if a family is moving from one resort to another.
So post your DIS name, your resorts, your dates, and I'll update the list. You don't need all the information. You could just list your name and not the dates nor the resorts.
Below those lists are several possible 2002 unofficial DIS mini-meets that we might have depending on if anyone is interested.

These lists are not written in stone, and the names, dates, times, events will most certainly change like they did last year around the official events.

2001 DIS-CON-I Character Breakfast
This was one of the perks of an official event. We each got a ticket to take a picture with different Disney characters. Some of us put all our tickets together for a group picture.

O.K., so I'm getting a little ahead of myself. And I know people may change their minds, change their dates, change their resorts. But, I'm going to try and start three lists. One by dates, one by DIS name and one by resort. Call me crazy. And I'll also start an UNofficial mini-meet list, too. Remember that I work 12-16 hour nights on weekends, so I'll update these lists on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

UN...UN...Unofficial DIS Mini-meets
These mini-meets are just suggestions and are unofficial DIS-CON II mini-meets that are not part of the Official DIS-CON meet that you pay for. The dates, and the times cannot be picked until Mackey Mouse and WebmasterCathyCanada know what the official schedule is. Then they try and pick dates and time around the official times. For a special event like Tea at GF or MK's Keys to the Kingdom Tour, or MVMCP involve extra costs. Most are just a get together of friends and free. You don't have to eat a full meal if at a restaurant if you don't want to, just order a drink or have water, but many require priority seatings(very important) to be made, and park entry, tickets or packages to pay for. Just post on the thread that talks about that particular DIS mini-meet. If you want to, I can also post your name here, or I will try and get the information from the respective thread. Remember, I am just doing this for fun and all this is just for information all in one place.
