So, I saw the men, and the results show, but had to watch the girls online, and it wasn't all that clear.
Anyone else watching tonight?

I'll be watching. I don't have a favorite yet as for their dancing but I'm a huge 90210 fan so I'm hoping that Jennie lasts awhile.

I have to say I liked the Cheeta Girl...
Jane Seymore is just amazing isn't she? I don't think she has aged at all in 20 years. It will be fun to see how she does with Latin...classical just seems made for her.
There are some really good dancers already... popcorn::

I'm right there with you, Helio is HOT  he could take me for a spin around the track anytime.
My DM and I make up a list of the elimination order we think the dancers will go it.......here's mine
Josie - first :thumbsup2
Marie - second
Jennie - third
Mark - fourth
Cameron - fifth
Wayne - sixth
Floyd - seventh
Mel - eighth
Albert - ninth
Sabrina - tenth
Helio - eleventh
Jane - WINNER
Anyone else want to chime in on their order of elimination? It might be fun to see everyone's order and who is the best guesser.

I just didn't like his attitude, sorry .......I only base my decision on how they dance, not what their "fan base" will be. This year the order was much harder since most of them can actually dance.
What's your projected outcome?

I feel asleep during the show.:sad1: :sad1: Hopefully I'll catch the recap. Did a dancer fall? Poor thing.

So I was having trouble with the cable box, and took it in to the shop yesterday. I was able to score a DVR cable box, and 3 additional boxes for the house for $10. SOOOOOO, I got the record the dancing, which my family wasn't interested in, and watch it later last night. Let me just say, this technology is just so WAY COOL!!! :happytv:
I think it's either Sabrina or Helio as the winner. Jane looked amazing, but I thought it was so true, she looked just so reserved doing the mambo.
This is going to be a difficult season, because I agree, so many are already great dancers. :dancer:

I fell asleep and missed Floyd and Jane, Wayne was way sad to watch, Marie surprised me, Helio of course ROCKS and thought Sabrina did great too. It was too bad Jennie fell, we will see what America thinks tonight.

I have to say I have no idea on the elimination order this time. Other seasons I at least had an idea of who should go in the first few weeks and each time I had down who the final 3 were. This time it's just harder!
I have to say I'll be shocked if Marie goes tonight after her performance last night. She really was good! It really should be Wayne, but he probably has too large of a fan base. It's usually those that people don't know who go early.
Of course Helio is just outstanding! So was Sabrina! Although I have to say I have a hard time with them using people who already are dancers. Sabrina may be best known for being a Cheetah Girl, but she IS a dancer...even if it isn't ballroom, it's still an unfair advantage.
Last week I only saw the men. I liked Albert & Floyd (even though the judges didn't like him) but thought both were shaky last night. Watching Mark is painful for me...literally. It makes my bad knee & back hurt just watching because he moves like I feel sometimes...stiff & holding off the pain. It's a shame. I like him otherwise. Cameron OTOH - I don't care for him as an actor, which may be coloring my viewpoint, but he's not very good & doesn't seem to be trying as hard as some of the others. I'd like to see him go sooner rather than later.
And Jane...I was prepared to really be rooting for her. But I didn't care for her dance last night at all. DS & DD watched her with me & none of us could figure out what dance she was doing. :confused3 We knew it should be the mambo, but it didn't look like it. Based on last night only, I'd be surprised if she won.
And can I just say that I was shocked by the complaint about the song someone "chose" last night? A couple seasons ago they explained how that worked...the dancers & choreographers were given the music for the following week - selected FOR them - immediately after the results show. :confused Why penalize the dancers when they had no say in what song was used? :confused3 Unless that has changed since then... And I hate some of the stuff they choose. I can't think who it was, but someone did a Quick Step (I think) to a song that simply didn't fit. I have no clue how they were able to do it!! It was just dreadful!

I've only watched through Jennie so far from last night but are they allowed to do lifts this early this year? I noticed in Helios dance that his partner did a flip thing over his back and both of her feet were off the ground. I'm trying to remember in years past that everyone kept getting in trouble for taking both feet off the ground in a "lift" before they were really allowed to.

You're right Jenny! It used to be around week 6 that they allowed lifts of any kind. I wonder why it's allowed now?:confused3

I so agree with you about the song - I think it hurt the dance.
My favorite last night was Sabrina but I did like Helio. Last week I liked Albert. Disappointed in Jane but surprised by Marie.
Wayne - absolutely nothing to say about him. How about - He's better than Master P?
And, I kinda like Mark Cuban - he seems like he's really trying hard to do well - and I think Floyd did better than the judges said.
We'll see tonight.

I'm worried that Mark will be out tonight, although I'm hoping for Wayne instead! I don't think Mark will win, he's not near the dancer that the others are, but just from knowing how he 'works' he's giving the show everything he can...
On the music - did anyone besides me think that they liked the Jammin' Jungle Parade's version of Mas Que Nada much, much, much better than the version used last night?
I think it's probably going to come down to Helio and Sabrina - hopefully Helio!
(Someone asked - it was Jennie that fell last night, I believe. Her partner stepped on her skirt while she was sliding and they both went down.)

I love this show. I'm hoping that Wayne goes tonight. I really thought he was a better dancer. Sabrina really nailed the quick step last night, thought she would do more hip hop. I'm rooting for Marie as she is a year older than me and it's nice to see someone who isn't pencil thin dance. Donny is still a cutie!:cutie: I like Jane but she is too reserved, although her outfit wasn't! Helio was hot!

There is no way Albert should have went before Wayne!!! I think he is just awful to have to watch!!! Even though Mark is cocky sometimes I find my self rooting for him because of his work ethic I think. Besides the faces he makes while dancing are somewhat entertaining as well. I think Jennie is in trouble because of who her partner is...I don't think he is very good:confused3 And I do like Helio way better than I first thought I would

I watched last night...I thought that Cheryl was already saying good-bye to the fans and Wayne...This is probably his last night, unless the fan base is huge. He just doesn't "spark"
I LOVED Sabrina and Mel B and Jane...WOW, I think it's going to be a woman this year. They were so great! But Jane is just so "lady-like" compaired to the huge energy of the other 2, I'm thinking that she isn't going to go the distance just because of that.
OK, who else got teary when she was talking about her mom? Such poise to be able to dance like that 1 week later...
It did sound like Cheryl was saying goodbye. Wayne just doesn't have the beat.
The woman and Helio are fabulous. Did you see Marie's in the air split?!! OUCH. I don't think she was joking when she said she needed an epidural.

I liked Helio too, he is soooo charming :teeth: but I'm wondering if he will be able to keep up. The guys all have injuries...new hip, "weak" feet...

Wayne is just painful to watch. Helio is so goofy with that smile that he's cute and he's a good dancer. And I agree - Sabrina and Mel B - wow. I even liked Jenny last night, with some reservations. I have mixed feelings about Jane - I admire her for continuing after her mother died - but didn't totally love her tango.

While I agree Wayne should have been the one to go (last week even ;) ) I was still somewhat surprised. I figured he had a huge fan base from his Vegas shows, you know? I mean, in the past people stayed on LONG past when they should and the only explanation was the audience vote...like P Diddy.
So who will be next? I think it should be Mark, again it's so hard to say how people will vote - and he wasn't in the bottom 2 this week. :confused3

10-17-2007, 08:35 AM
I was surprised about Mel B too. Floyd didn't have any grace, so it was time for him. Next week is Latin week...that's going to be fun to watch.
It's a shame that Gloria Estifan had to cancel, but I think they did a good thing with the singers filling in...but what did you all think about those "clown" dancers? I loved seeing Drew and Cheryl, and Wayne was doing what he does best, and that isn't dancing :lmao: But I have to say his voice just isn't as strong as it was... was sad to see (hear)...well, you know what I mean...

I didn't get to see Mondays dances since my cable box reset itself and tivo ended up recording nothing. LOL I did half watch last night and its on the tivo for later viewing. I enjoyed the "I Dream of Genie" dance, but it was time for him to go.

I liked Mark Cuban's energy and enthusiasm but I agree - it was time to go! Sabrina's my favorite and Helio just wasn't on this time, plus I thought he looked silly in that shirt :goodvibes
Does anyone else think Edyta could still wear sexy costumes and yet look a little bit classier than she does? My dh says I pick on her every week.
piratesmate
10-24-2007, 08:50 AM
LOL I complain about Edyta's clothing (or lack thereof) every week too! DH doesn't watch, but DD does & she says the same thing.
I agree that Helio wasn't "on" this week, I still can't believe how everyone is gushing over Cameron! (I have to admit I don't get his attraction on AMC either. ;)) I thought his shirt looked really silly...he has muscular arms, but the open thing just wasn't working for some reason, I don't know why. I kept wanting him to button it & had to laugh when Len said the same thing! LOL
Did anyone see Mark Cuban's interview on GMA this morning? They asked him to pick a winner. He said he thought Cameron of the men and Jane of the women. :confused3 I was so unimpressed with Jane's dance on Monday. It didn't seem like much of a rhumba to me...just a series of positions set to music.
I think Sabrina is the best. If someone else wins, I'd rather it be Jenny than Mel. For some reason Mel's personality is just too harsh for me...not that that has anything to do with her dancing though. :lmao:

I'm happy with last nights results. I enjoyed the Genie dance but it was his time to go. Jane just does nothing for me however I'd love to have her body at that age. I agree - Marie's fainting looked scary, she looked like she fell hard! She was so funny though when she said something about the points dropping faster or her body falling faster. Even though I don't think she'll win (though I hope so) - Marie is my favorite. By then again I've been an Osmond fan since I was a little kid (so it seems like I've been a fan for forever!)

I thought the reactions of the judges were interesting. They all stood up. Bruno looked like he was going to run down on the floor - or hit someone. Carrie Ann cried!
And it definitely should have been either Jane or Marie going home tonight. How sad. I'm not sure DD & I will even bother to watch. We've been hooked on this since the first season & always tape it if we can't watch for some reason - and that's saying something. There are very few shows for which we do that.

I admit I was shocked when they announced Sabrina would be leaving (especially over Cameron). But if they are taking into account fans calling in plus the judges scores, then I guess Cameron has more fans than Sabrina.
To be honest with you...I never even heard of Sabrina before DWTS. I had heard of the Cheetah Girls but never heard who they actually were, but then again I don't have any kids so...
mrp4352
10-31-2007, 08:05 AM
Bruno's right - if people aren't voting, then weird things are going to happen. Weird things like one of the best dancers being sent home halfway through. There was an interview with Mark Cuban early on (here in the Dallas area), and he said that for the first half or so, the votes actually count as 3/4s of the total, not the half judges/half votes I had always believed. That was one of the reasons he started focusing on routines that people would enjoy watching.
I felt so sorry for Sabrina, she looked so young and scared when they announced she was in the bottom two.

This has been one of my favorite shows since the beginning, but I'm probably not going to watch anymore. I think the judges votes should count for 3/4 of the total at least. It's obviously just a popularity contest. There are a lot of really angry people around here about last night's results. It would be worth writing to ABC. Hmm...

I was shocked too! But you know Soap fans are a loyal bunch. Remember in the first season when John O'Hurley lost to the girl on the Soap? Can't remember her name, but he was way better. I don't care for Cameron. I would think that the judges score would count for at least 50% of the score.

Anyway, DD & I started to vote using IE. It started crashing, making me crazy! So I switched back to Firefox, which is what I usually use. Imagine my surprise when instead of 1 vote remaining for the email I was using, I suddenly had all 6 votes available to me!! So I went back through my other 5 emails that I'd already used to vote & I could vote AGAIN with each of them!

I saw that - it was sweet! I followed a link on the site somewhere & there was a blurb that said Mel B wanted a recount because Sabrina shouldn't have gone home...even if the recount meant that she, Mel B, would leave instead. I thought that was pretty classy.
I really think they need to fix the voting situation. I've thought for some time that it was necessary...like when P Diddy stayed on week after week, plodding across the floor in his sneakers. I think they should provide a grid & allow you to select each person only once - but only give you 1 or 2 fewer votes than there are dancers. That way you could actually say who is best & who is worst in your opinion...but of course I don't rule the world. :lmao: :lmao:

I actually got to watch last night. I'm not sure who is going home but I'm ready for Jane or Marie to go. Neither one of them does it for me dancewise.

The judges really liked Marie this week...and I just didn't get it. Jane didn't do anything for me (but I wish I looked just 1/2 as good as she does!). Jenny lookes like she is really improving. I really like Mel B. I thought it was going to be her and Sabrina in the finale. Helio looked good, and I love Julianne...
After last week, and Sabrina leaving, I just feel it's a popularity contest, and not a true dancing competition. So, I like watching for the entertainment, I love watching the dancing, but it has lost so much appeal for me now...

didn't watch it last night...
actually I don't think we even discussed watching it..but we had ball practice so it probably was the farthest thing from our minds...

DD said last night that since it obviously isn't about the best dancer, we should vote to have someone like Marie win...so it's NOT about the dance. She said there's no way a nationwide boycott on voting would work, so this was the next best...make it mean nothing. LOL How did my 16yo become so jaded?!?!?
I'd love to see Jane go tonight. She just doesn't do anything for me, which is weird because I've always liked her as an actress. :confused3 I think Jenny has really improved, but I think she's just so tentative - even now.

I didn't watch last night. I might have but when I said last week that I wasn't watching anymore because of Sabrina, DH said I couldn't do it so of course I had to prove him wrong. Strange though, I really didn't miss watching it. After all, I can catch up on here!

Marie most likely won't be on tonight - I just read that her father - 90-year-old George passed away this morning.
I liked how they announced right away that Marie was safe. They did the same when Jane's mother passed too.
Not surprised that Jane was told to pack her dancing shoes, she should have gone after that jive previously, but wow, I wish I looked that good in her outfit last night. Good for you Jane!

anyone want to guess who's going next week? I'm thinking Jennie or Helio, just based on viewer's votes.

She's so much fun, I hate to lose her from the showmanship point of view. But her skills haven't progressed like the others...
LOVED Cameron and Edita's walz last night! And Helio's number in the bright yellow zoot suit was fantastic.

I have to say when Helio kissed Julianne, and then dropped her, it was too funny....
It's such a popularity contest, and it's just fan votes, so it all depends on who's fans voted more. After Sabrina was axed, and she is by far better than Jenny or Marie combined, I just stopped thinking that talent mattered this year...
But I still watch

I did watch again this week - my boycott last week was to prove something to DH. Anyway, I've never really liked Cameron (and I don't like Edyta much though the waltz was nice) so I wasn't unhappy he went home. I really like Helio and the kiss/drop was funny. Personally I've been ready for Marie to go since week 1 - for some reason she irritates me.

was alittle surprise Cameron went, maybe he should of taken off his shirt :lmao:
Way to go Helio, loved both of his dances. I want the final two will be Helio and Mel, but with the crazy voting of the fans, it could end up being Marie and Jennie

Not sad to see Cameron go. I was so ready for Marie but I think she got the sympathy votes. I just like Jennie Garth but I admit her dancing isn't up to Mels. I guess I'd like the final to be Mel and Helio. I think Mel is the better dancer but Helio is fun to watch.
I'd like to see Mel and Max win it. She is an awesome dancer. On the other hand, I am not disappointed that Cameron and Edyta were told to pack their dancing shoes. I just don't care for her at all? And what was Cameron's trousers Monday night?! :confused3 :scared1: televisionwithoutpity even commented on it. At first I thought I had seen things.:rolleyes1

I'm thinking it's going to be Marie tonight. But it's a popularity contest, so who knows :confused3
I have to say the dancing last night was amazing. Jenny finally looked comfortable, LOVED Helio, but as always, I think Mel was the best.

Mel was definitely best. Jenny was really good too! I still like Marie but she'll probably go tonight (either her or Jenny).
I loved Helio & Julianne's first dance, but to be honest the 2nd dance didn't do a thing for me, guess I was expecting more. :confused3 :rotfl:
Guess we'll see what happens tonight!

It was a good show. Didn't like Jenny's 1st dance or Marie's 2nd and didn't love Mel's paso doble - I think it was the music that distracted me on Jenny & Mel. Marie's quick step really surprised me - she was good! And Jenny's cha-cha - wow. But Mel & Helio were the best! Mel's splits on the waltz - how does she do that?
I'm not making any predictions about who will go home - I think Marie should with Jenny as a close 2nd.

I actually got to watch last night. I'm going through a sleepy phase but I woke up a little after 8 and caught up. LOL I wasn't overly thrilled with the dances. I liked the freestlyes from the last couple of years better but overall I think they all did a good job. Based on dancing I think Mel should win but Helio is fun to watch. There is something about Marie that just looks weird when she is dancing. I hope to see tonights but we are going to try and go shopping so I may have to catch up later.

I was really disappointed in the show. I thought the dancing wasn't as good as other nights and the freestyle dances, except for Helio imho, sucked! Marie's doll dance was creepy and Max looked so awkward, again imho!
The other dances - ok but not spectacular.

I won't miss it! My favorite guy is Helio and for the women I like Jane Seymor, she is so classy!

I was happy to see Helio win. I thought technically Mel B was better but Helio had charisma and charm, along with looking darn good on the dance floor. Plus, he never danced before, unlike Mel, which amazes me. My biggest sigh of relief was when Marie was the first one eliminated because if she'd won -

:woohoo: Helio! I am so happy he won! DD woke up this morning and the first thing out of her mouth was "did our Helio win?" she was  all over the room.
