Can you take sunscreen in your carry-on on the airplane?
We are using Magic Express and plan to hit the pool once we get there but I've heard your luggage won't come right away. I have our bathing suits in the carry-on but wasn't sure what to do about sunscreen for little ones.
Thanks.

As long as it is 3 oz. or smaller and in your ziploc bag, it is fine in carry-on.

Look for travel size containers. Thats what we did just two weeks ago.

Yup, make sure it is 3 oz. or less. We had 3 big bottles in our carry ons because I didn't realize I wasn't allowed to have them and no one said anything on the way to Orlando. But on the way home they took them away. When I told her I didn't know and had them in my carry on going to Orlando she just said "I guess I did a better job" in a very snotty voice. Oh well, live and learn.

Travel size is the way to go, or look for the solid stick type ones. You just need enough for the first day...if your luggage gets lost I'm sure Disney has some for sale at the hotels!

Yes - liquids and gels of any kind must be in quantities 3.4oz or less and only as much as can fit into a quart size ziplock bag.
More details here at the TSA website -

I recommend checking it often prior to flight as things change these days:)

My SIL just learned this the hard way. She "lost" a $12 sunscreen because she didn't follow the 3oz baggie rule. She actually laughed at me because I had a tiny cheapo travel size. But guess who's sunscreen made it to Florida.:rotfl2:

There are some nice combos available with a full sized bottle and a small one. I refill the little one with the big one and carry it in my purse all the time.

Did you share with her?? LOL.
No carry on worries, and DH is just going to carry 6 of them in a baggie in his cargo shorts for afternoon reapplication each day (we will apply regular stuff in the room in AM) One wipe is SUPPOSED to be enough for your whole body...we shall see.
Just google "sunscreen wipes", I think.

I wouldn't transfer sunblock from it's original container into an unmarked container, we had alot of trouble with this and had to go through further security it took a 1/2 hour:eek: I'm not sur if this is the norm but I would rather be safe then sorry! I would buy the wipes or alot of sunscreens come with a 3 oz. travel size.(I know Hawaiin tropic is one brand):goodvibes

You know you are supposed to be able to use the clear containers but quite often I have seen folks have the clear containers taken. The problem isn't so much what is in them but that they are not clearly marked so the agent knows if its 3.4oz or less. Its much its better if they are marked even if the original contents are replaced. The TSA agents like to see quickly the # of oz and making their job easier makes your travel easier.
So - I always put my brand of shampoo into a travel size container of another brand and do the same with my sunscreen. As long as they fit into the 3-1-1 bag and are marked with the oz you will be fine :)
