Sorry for the newbie question, but

When looking to make reservations at the outer limit (whether it be 7 or 11 months) does it have to be that amount of time from the beginning of the reservation or the end?

For example, if I wanted to make a reservation at my home resort for Nov. 1 - 10 2008, could I make that today (Oct. 1) or do I need to wait until the 10th to book the whole trip in one fell swwoop?

You need to call 7 or 11 months from the end of your stay.

Actually, you are counting months incorrectly. The first day a trip to a home resort November 1 - 10, 2008 can be booked in its entirety would be December 10, 2007. You counted back 13 months. :)
