I know someone said that this service was being offered in August but was it due to the upgrades from the value resorts or is it a permanent thing now?

I am not certain of in room pizza specific to SSR. My experience with WDW pizza in general is, um......I really didn't like it. Now, Texas is not known for pizza by any means, but I know what I like and WDW pizza just doesn't measure up.
However, I am a big fan of Giordano's pizza (Lake Buena Vista location). Really good stuff. Everything we got from there was great (appetizers/salads etc). We like the thin crust pizza best.
They delivered to our room when we stayed at AKL earlier this month. I would suggest emailing them and seeing if they will do the same for SSR.
Here is their website

We ordered WDW pizza at SSR in June. I would recommend ordering Papa John's instead :)

We liked the pizza at POFQ food court in December so wondered if the Sassagoula Pizza delivery now extended to SSR. If not we may head over to DTD on our arrival night, just considering all options if we arrive late and or tired after the flight!

Is it OK to just order Papa John's or Dominos when at SSR or OKW?
We have trips coming up to both resorts and will most likely stay in for dinner one night. We dont care for the WDW pizza either.

Yup, nothing wrong with Papa Johns, Dominos, Pizza Hut (ok, actually have to draw the line there).
Thing is, I have all those national chains back home.....sometimes it is nice to get a vacation from them also.
They are a bit cheaper than WDW pizza (or Giordanos) to boot.

I feel certain that Papa John's will taste completely different when eaten at SSR as opposed to in our living room at home. ;) At least that is what I am telling the kids!! :goodvibes

We like the DTD Hess Gas Station Pizza.
It's better than Disney's too and we usually stop by and pick it up. You can call ahead to order, but they dont deliver.
When everything else is closed, it's been a lifesaver.

We ordered it while staying at SSR in September. We used two TS and received a pizza, breadsticks, dessert, and a 2 liter of a Coke product (and all plates/napkins/cups/silverware). It wasn't a bad pizza, it tasted good but it is very limited as to choice of pizza toppings available. We would order again in a heartbeat and use 2 TS. That fed three people and we had leftovers. On the TV loop station for SSR the pizza delivery promo was regularly running, it seemed to me like it was a normal occurance, not something special, although I do not know with any certainty either way! :confused3

It was for 2 TS total. We had 2 adults and a hungry teen and still had leftovers! :thumbsup2
