Can I get the DDP if I have a AAA discount

Can I get the DDP if I have a AAA discount on my room (booked through Disney). I am going to add park tickets to my package through my Disney TA and am wondering if I have the option to add the DDP, or does the AAA discount block me.

Sort of. To book a package with the AAA discount applied to the room portion, you must book through AAA.

you cannot add a dining plan to your Disney made reservation with AAA discount
You CAN book a AAA package with AAA which includes tickets and dining plan and still get the AAA room discount.

I think that makes my mind up ... I think for us, the savings we have gotten with the AAA discount outweighs what we might have gotten on the DDP.

There is no need to choose between AAA and the DDP, because you can book thru AAA with the DDP (with the room discount too)

If you go through the AAA office, you will get the same room rate on the pkg AND you can add the DDP. I normally have to book everything myself to be in control, but I did book it through our AAA office to save $$$ and get the DDP for our trip last month.

As described you can have both if you book the package with AAA and remember you save about 30 to 40% on food by using the dining plan so that is more than any AAA room discount, but as I say you can have the AAA discount AND the dining plan. Just book the package through AAA

AAA let you add the DDP to your Disney vacation up until 7 days before your scheduled check-in date. :thumbsup2
