Its taken about 3/4 of the way up the path to the volcano slide - there is a little 'window' in the rocks overlooking the GF and dock.

Also, we are headed back to the Poly Feb 1st - 8th staying in Hawaii concierge :cool1: So if anyone has any requests for pictures let me know and I'll do my best to get them and post them when we get back :thumbsup2 Quality not quaranteed ;)

Thanks for all the compliments...When we stay at the PR we stay in the Hawaii building (club) - Lagoon View. Normally 1st floor, so we can just walk right out and the girls can play around on the beach too. Fireworks normally require a tripod unless you are close enough to get enough light to hand hold the shot...for this you need to be in the MK close to the castle, otherwise plan on a using a tripod...placed where other guest cannot obstruct your line of sight to the castle and sky.

When the renovations began at the Polynesian, the furniture was delayed and all rooms could not be converted in total. Pieces were placed as received, hence the flat screen with the older style furniture. :thumbsup2

Hi, does anyone have any renovated pictures of the rooms in Tahiti, especially the bathroom setup? We are going to Poly in May and I requested Tahiti specifically because it has 2 sinks, but I'm wondering if the toliet portion is separate from the sink area? I'd appreciated any pictures anyone has.

we were garden view and if you bent down you could see the castle through the palm trees and some of wishes at night..when we arrived I had requested tokelau and they had a room ready in another building with no balcony and I said I really wanted a balcony so I had to wait about 2 hours for the room I wanted.. Well worth it although my DW was like just take the room, but once she found out how nice the location of tokelau is she was glad we waited..

the bathroom was large and clean. there's storage on each side under the sink, and I brought a hanging organizer which worked well. the mirror is good sized and there's a larger mirror on the back of the door. the H2O amenities are great. the only thing I think they could add would be more hooks than one - one on the back of the bathroom door at least would help.

Check the resort schedule they give out on arrival. They usually have lessons every day in the afternoon.

I have been dreaming about the Poly since my first trip to WDW in 1981. I think we might actually splurge next May to fulfill one of my dreams. I have the best DH. :love:

Hi all! I'm 6 months late, but better late than never!
Me and my DH went down last Columbus Day weekend for my 40th birthday celebration. We stayed here at the Poly and I don't recall offhand what our room number was, but we stayed in the Tahiti building.
My DH arrived the day before I did to "set things up" LOL:goodvibes but he did wind up doing a great job!
When I walked in the curtains were closed. When I opened them, I really cried - I Could Not believe the awesome view! We paid for a Garden View room but received an awesome Theme Park View room upgrade. I think I know how I got it, and I've yet to thank that person for thinking of me. But we're returning to our home away from home this September and "You" will be on my list of people to see - thank you!!

Anyway, here are some awesome photos for all to enjoy!

One lovely touch I thought was so thoughtful was the lighting in the bathroom. When you turn on the light, it is dim, but after a few minutes, it slowly brightens and after about five minutes the bathroom is fully lit. This was wonderful when having to use the toilet in the middle of the night - the light didn't wake me up!

Ahh, breakfast at Kona Cafe... We didn't have the kids this trip, so we declined the character breakfast at Ohana. Never fear, Tonga Toast is here!

Later in the afternoon, we took a fantastic voyage on a Water Mouse...
TIP O' THE DAY:
If you want the boat to actually move in the water, One Adult per boat!
Me and my husband together were too heavy for the boat. All the other boats were zipping around the lake. We were going so slow it was like we were dragging an anchor! There is a little sign IN the boat that discloses the weight limit - why didn't someone tell us the weight limit BEFORE we rented the boat - we would have gotten two!

I've got more, but it's late. Enjoy!

Ahhh...this is a great thread! Changed our split stay (Poly CL & WL) to 10 days of Poly in September for our anniversary! I'm very excited!! LOVE looking at these photos! DH is going to be sooooo surprised! He thinks we're staying at POFQ (which we do love), but I thought for our special anniversary (9th on 09/09/09) we deserved something even more magical! It's his dream resort & when we got the 40% code, I jumped on the chance to stay there! Yay!!

I believe this is the Fiji longhouse - I didn't think Fiji had balconies on the 2nd floor but this longhouse is directly behind the marina so my map shows Fiji. Tonga is at the top of the marina (not shown).

Our room last June was on the third floor of Fiji right between the palm trees. DDs & their DBFs were in the room to the right.

Looking at all these pictures are making me both happy AND sad since we won't be going back until 2011. This is the closest place to heaven here on earth. AND the closest I'll ever get to Hawaii!!

Just to answer your question--the pic appears to be from Sunset Point. . .the longhouse in the view is Hawaii and Tokelau at the left. . .Tahiti is in the far left corner and barely visible. The beach is the primary beach in front of Hawaii. At least I hope I'm seeing it properly. . . :thumbsup2

This was Rarotonga, first floor on the end closest to the GCH, quiet pool side, room 1806. Would have preferred 3rd floor for an even prettier view, but 1st floor was lovely and VERY convenient.

A child vomitted in the pool--too much swallowed water I guess. ;)

The pool was closed due to weather related issues, i.e., lightning in the area. It's a pretty common occurrence in the wet season and the resorts get the pools opened as soon as the weather has cleared.

Looks like the "back" (side toward the TTC) of the Tokelau building. Our room in Tokelau faced the quiet pool but I think I used that DSA a couple of times. Very quiet and peaceful sitting. We loved that building...close to GCH, TTC and the Bus Stop. A pretty good walk to get to the boat dock but the grounds are so beautiful I didn't care!

However, if a really good promo is offered, pixiedust: I'm going to upgrade us to the Poly. I've been reading up about this resort and I've read somewhere that the garden view rooms don't have balconies on the second floor. Is this true? According to the photos, it looks like they do. I'm so confused.

I've been reading up about this resort and I've read somewhere that the garden view rooms don't have balconies on the second floor. Is this true? According to the photos, it looks like they do. I'm so confused.

Love these photos.............really want to stay here but the cost is keeping us away. Currently booked in Jan. to stay @ POFQ and excited about that.

However, if a really good promo is offered, pixiedust: I'm going to upgrade us to the Poly. Certain buildings don't have balconies on the second floor. These longhouse do NOT have balconies on the second floor--(Aotearoa, Fiji, Hawaii, Niue, Rarotonga, Samoa and Tuvalu). The rest do have balconies on the second floor.

Yes they still have sliding glass that do open. The railing is right up against the door.

does anyone have a shot of the sign at the airport for Disney's Magical Express to the Polynesian? I never thought to take it myself, but would like one for the screensaver I'm making in anticipation for our next trip "home" next year.

I will be staying in the Samoa building 3rd floor I believe...I have never been but the TA recommended this longhouse..I am sure I can't go wrong either way though?
