April 2008 - Waitlist?

We have a reservation at SSR for our April vacation and called today to see if we could get into BCV for that same time frame instead ( 1 bedroom villa). The were two nights (Wed and Thurs) that weren't available - so I asked to be put on the waitlist for the entire week (DH doesn't want to move mid-trip).

What do you think the chances are the entire week will come thru? :confused3

Anyone else want to wait with me? :rotfl:

CT (at least for us) is the week before - we'll be at SSR April 12-19 if the wait list doesn't come thru.

Before we go over to the BCV, we'll be at AKL for three nights, from the 16th to 19th! Can't wait for that. Anyway, I'd say yes, book as soon as possible. The rates are ridiculous from Boston already.

New Hampshire is on vacation that week, but even if everyone from the entire state went to WDW it still wouldn't be crowded ;) Seriously though, I often book at 7 months with no problem and it is usually a very manageable week. The weather tends to be beautiful, too!

Yeah, the same thing happened to me this morning, when I tried to book April 19-26 at BWV (two bedroom). The CM commented that it's a really busy time for some reason. So I went with OKW...which is fine, but we are taking friends (first-timers) with us and I was really hoping for an Epcot resort!!! I'm on the waiting list now...I sure HOPE it comes through!

There's a poll on the Theme Parks board for spring breaks 2008. It seems that there are a lot more people off in April considering when Easter is.

I feel fortunate that ours is the week of 3/31 and we were able to reserve a studio at BCV last week (not our home resort, and less than 7 months out). Can't wait! :goodvibes

NYC schools are out 4/19-4/26/08 for Spring Break (aka Passover) ;) So, it is a busy time at DVC.

We have reservations for that week in a BWV std. studio. Was thinking about switching to AKV (we liked it that much last trip). But airfare is still so sky high ($500+/pp non-stop from NYC), so unless it becomes more reasonable, we may have to cancel. :sad1:

I'm on the waitlist for a studio at at BWV and a 1BR at BCV for the week of April 20-26. I am not going to hold my breath.

When I called I was told only SSR and OKW had availability.

I was really hoping to get BWV for my mother. She really wants to try the resort. We will be at VWL and SSR if the waitlist doesn't come through.

We are waitlisted for a 2 bedroom at BCV for 4/19-4/26 as well. I called about a month ago and that was all I could get at the time. I then called on Wed. the 26th and was able to book a 2 bedroom at SSR for our back up. I was also told by MS that SSR and OKW were the only resorts with any availability at that time. Besides a grand villa at AKV. We like SSR so if the waitlist doesn't come thru - not a problem at all. We are just really looking forward to getting back to Disney.....

Wow, I'm really surprised that some resorts are filling up so quickly. I would have thought April would be a little slower this year since Easter is in March. Our school vacation is the week of Apr 21-25, but we're going from Apr 16-24 in order to get decent airfare. I called MS last week and had no problem getting a 2BR Savanna view at AKL. I guess I was lucky. I hope you all get what you're hoping for! pixiedust:

Whew! you guys had me worried. I just started my calling this AM for the week after the week you are are waitlisted for and the CM said pretty much everything was available to me starting April 27th. I started my day-by-day for the BW-preferred. She did look at the long range reservation and said it looked pretty good in terms of availability. She even said the BW-BV was available for the 12 nights I needed. I stayed with preferred view. While standard was available for some nights, there were a few nights that had no availability (I've had luck with the waitlist before, but didn't want to deal with it this year). I generally like to get a solid reservation before taking a chance of waitlisting. I'm going to need another studio the last 5 days of my reservation for my daughter, so needed to choose something that would work for them too. Since the babies will be 1 and 2, we need to stay within walking distance to several of the parks. We were all at OKW and BCV in August, so thought BW for April would be good.

I booked a 2 bedroom villa at AKV for April 19-26th. Our schools split vacation this spring for the first time. Four day in March for Easter and One week in April for Passover. I noticed air flight are very high do you think they will go down or no because of passover?

Part of my waitlist came thru:cool1: I just cancelled 1brm AKV savannah for 4/21 & 1 bedroom BWV preferred for 4/23 & 4/24 and a discounted cash ressie for BCV 4/25 1 bedroom. I hope someone can use it.

I've got 2B VWL April 19 - 21, 1B BWV April 22-24. I'm waitlisting for a 2B the 22-24 at either BCV or BWV. We can manage with a 1B, but I would prefer the 2B.

When I called MS the Wed and Thurs nights weren't available (for BCV one bedroom)...not sure why :confused3, and that's why we're on the waitlist - this was the week of April 12 - 19...

I originally booked a 2bd Villa at WL, but switched to the BCV with no problem a week or so ago when we were able to start booking at the 7 month window.

MS did say there were only a few 2bd's available at the BCV. But, we did get what we wanted!!

I hope everyone's waitlist requests come through!

I called today and got a studio at BCV for April 26-May 1st. I had to waitlist for the night of the 1st but they said the 2nd and 3rd were pretty wide open for when I call back tomorrow to book those two nights. Hopefully all the Spring Breakers will be home by then!

The calendar shows MK closing early Wed the week before too (April 16) - there's been some speculation on the theme park board that it might be for the Pirate and Princess Party (since the Grad nights are usually on Friday)..

I had no problem getting a 2bd at OKW from the 26th through the end of April. In fact it was going to be that or a 1bd at VWL if my parents weren't coming with us. And was told there was a lot open. Glad I am going a week later I guess.

This will be my first visit as a DVC member so I have no experience with wait lists but if it doesn't come thru by the time I need to book for next fall at the 11 month window I will go with SSR.

I would be happy at either resort, I have 50 years to try and stay at the BC.

I just called and added saturday the 12th to my reservation with no problem, plenty of availablity at BC for that day but still waitlisted for the tuesday and thursday.

I am new to DVC so I have no idea what my chances are for the waitlist to come through.

Glad to hear there is hope that the waitlist does comes through! We just booked today and EVERYTHING was full! We really wanted BCV, BWV then WLV in that order...(Originally we wanted AKLV but as of 2 weeks ago, that was ALL gone for our dates)...but nothing. So we have SSR again...which is fine...but we're on the waitlist for BCV for May 1-4...hopefully it'll come through. :confused3

We are going from April 3rd through the 7th. We already had our waitlist for the 3rd come through at BCV now we are waiting for the 7th (currently have a studio at SSR for the 7th). 3 days at BCV one at SSR so far

We are on the waitlist for a 1bd at BWV for 20-24 April. We've booked into a 1bd in SSR for those dates in case the waitlist doesn't come through, so I'll be happy to stay there.

We weren't able to book until DH had his vacation time confirmed, so only called 1 mth ago and MS said everything was full apart from SSR.

Hope it comes through.

The points did change on the website (we ended up having to borrow 5 points from our 2008 UY) when I finally was able to get back in and check (this was back when I was having lots of techinical difficulties with the DVC website).
