I saw a thread heading entitled : Gay Marriage so I went ahead and peeked. Someone was doing a paper for school on gay marriage and was wondering what everyone's opinion was. I only read half the responses, but it made me happy because every single one said it was ok by them! I think todays youth is more accepting than they were in my day...........I'm awfully glad for it!:dance3: :dance3:

Being anti-gay marriage is largely an emotional response to long-held beliefs. Young people don't bring decades of prejudice to the discussion.
There really isn't much in the way of logical rational arguments against gay-marriage - the arguments are largely emotional so someone who looks at it from a fresh perspective isn't going to see much of a problem with it.

there were probably five people who had a problem with it, yet none of them were comfortable posting why on the thread. In my mind, it shows that they know that something is wrong with their idea, and they know that they will be looked down on for holding such a belief.

Sorry, I agree with Rence, the arguements are mostly emotional... Religion, since you brought it up is emotionally and spiritually driven...there is no logic about it.

I don't know about religion not being logical. I think that most of the problems come from people that think that God sat down with a court reporter one day and she typed out every word he said to make up the Bible. People just forget they have to be logical and filter out all the garbage thats been added to it and mistranslated in over the years that the Bible has been in fallible, judgemental, prejudiced human hands.

There had been a previous post that is not there now...from someone who changes his screen name everytime he posts on this board.
I agree that the Bible is mistranslated and misinterpreted and that people tend to use it to support their beliefs forgetting that people who present it are fallible.
When I said religion isn't logical...I meant that we (I) believe in a higher power even though there is no tangible proof...I always think of the line from Miracle on 34th street..."Faith is believing in things when common sense tells you not to".
