We are visiting D-world for the first time this Dec. We have a 4 year old boy and a 2 year old girl. We are really struggling about whether or not we should eat at CRT. We are on the dining plan so it will take away a dinner on another night. Is the food pretty bad? What other restaurants have a fun atmosphere? Thanks in advance!

You know there is something to be said for eating in the castle, it is a cool experience, though the food is NOTHING to get excited about. My DH and I left the breakfast still hungry.

I would say to do it if your kids are into princesses, if they aren't it is something that I would hold off and do later.

That is just my opinion.

I would say skip it. I doubt your 4y/o boy would be impressed with meeting Cinderella, and your daughter might be too young to know the difference. The food was terrible (I was just there on 9/18).
Unless your children REALLY have to get their picture with Cinderella, I'd vote to skip it.
If you do decide to go, pay cash. It's not worth using two TS meals.

Character dining is really great at WDW.

I highly recommend:

-Breakfast at Ohana with Lilo, Stitch and Mickey.
-Chef Mickey's is a must do for MANY families.
-Crystal Palace is great if you are into Pooh and Friends.

There are a couple of different meals that you can dine with the Princesses.

If your kids like fish, the Coral Reef is good, though not a character meal.

We had lunch last week and I know lots of people hate it but I LOVED the food. My mom was with me and she loved it too. The expirence is lovely too.

I had the major domo and my mom had the pork.

We've done breakfast there 3 times and always left totally stuffed. There are a lot of different items and even if there are only one or two you like, you can request as much of it as you want. We skipped it this trip to use double credits at Hoop-de-do instead, but will probably go back to CRT next trip.

You get photos with Cinderella included, perhaps not a big deal to everyone but you pay extra for them at Chef Mickey's and other places. That's partly what you're getting for the double credits, in addition to the castle atmosphere. (Also plastic sword and wand toys for the kids.)
