So, it's two days after coming home, and I should be at work. Work? Nah! I'm going to stay home and write my trip report. Woohoo! If I can't be there, at least I can relive it. :3dglasses
Ok, so, this might suck. I've never done one of these before, and my pre trippie was read by about three people, one of them being a family member! :confused3 I have some pics, and I'm reading up on how to post them, so bear with me on that!
Ok, so the cast of characters is as follows:
Me, 31...a lover of all things Disney. I am an obsessive compulsive planner who had planned things for months. Abandoning half the plans was interesting! We'll call me "K".
DH, 31. A newly converted Disney nut. We converted him on our family trip last year, and led him deeper into the darkness this trip. In this report, he'll be known as "T".
SIL, 22. DH's sister. We invited her on our trip back in July, when we realized that our DS didn't count in the room (he's 2). So we could take along someone else. She's just graduated from college, so we thought it would be a good getaway for her. The last time she went to Disney, she was 7, so she doesn't remember much of it. She's "S".
DD, 10. She's been visiting Disney with family since she was just a year old. She cried all day yesterday. She's asked that I call her "Voilet" on this trip, since she loves The Incredibles.
And, last but certainly not least, DS, 2. He loved the trip last year at a year old, and this trip was even better. He is accurately named
"Stitch".
Ok, so our flight was Friday Sept 14 at 7:20 am. That means we have to get up at 4 AM! Yowza! But nobody is going to sleep the night before anyway, so who cares! Get's us there faster, and will have me eating lunch at The World! Here we come!
So, our flight is uneventful and we arrive 20 minutes early. We walk over to Alamo and get our car. A gold Chevy Malibu hatchback. This was a great car for the 5 of us. I loved it! We rented a car last year, and we'll never use disney transportation. With Stitch, having a car to come and go as you please is great! Yes, walking alot to and from the parking lots, and lots of visits to the TTC (hence the name of the report), but not having to wait on that line for the buses in the morning and at night was great.
So, off to POP Century. No, wait! We're stopping at Sonic for lunch. We live in NJ, so there are no Sonic's here. Yet. They are supposed to open one this year about 75 miles away from our house. BUT, they continually show us Sonic commercials on tv. We have no way of obtaining a banana cream pie shake, which looks wonderfully good at 9pm while watching Big Brother 8. BUT, we can't just get in the car and drive to pick one up, can we? So we all decided that we'd stop and have lunch at Sonic. I have to say, the food was great. And the strawberry cream pie shake I opted for? MMMMMMMMMM..........:cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:
NOW we're off to Pop! We checked in, and found our room. 50's section, room 2132. Back side of the hotel, right around the corner from the bowling pin pool. Very quiet. Nice. Unpacked and headed for the pool.

We swam for a little while and then got ready and headed to our first TS dinner, Cape May Buffet at the Beach Club Resort. The food was AWESOME! I didn't take food pics...sorry. Clams, mussels, corn, potatoes, prime rib with horseradish sauce. Key Lime Pie tarts for desserts. Very, very, very good. Now, with the clouds looming, we decided to head over (ponchos in the stroller) to Epcot for Illuminations. We wandered around World Showcase for a while. Here's a few pics:

T, S, and Violet decided to go on the Maelstrom ride in Norway, so I waited with Stitch in the store. Oh boy....lightning and thunder. The next thing I knew, it was pouring! And I mean, POURING! So we all donned our ponchos. S, not having her industrial poncho, had a small crappy plastic one that her head didn't even fit through. It was a sight! T decided that he needed a viking helmet to accompany his bright blue poncho, and we were off. But NOT FAR. We headed in the direction of Mexico, only to get as far as the ship area. The lightning was BAD. REALLY BAD! So we ducked back under the covered seating area to wait it out. In the horrible storm, they still did Illuminations, and there were NUTS out there, sitting by the water with their umbrellas WITH THE METAL POINT ON TOP! CAN YOU SAY LIGHTNING ROD? :scared1: It was a crazy storm. So we watched Illuminations as best as we could see through the driving rain and our heavy ponchos that were too small for our big heads. As the rain let up near the end, we decided to make our way back to Beach Club. It was a great feeling to walk through all the countries while watching Illuminations and have no one there to battle a path.
So we made it back to the hotel in one piece. One very wet, soggy piece, but one piece nonetheless. We made use of the pizza delivery service at POP. Expensive, but good pizza, and the kids loved that the little van drove right up to the room! About $25 for a pizza and a two liter bottle of soda.
Coming up next, day two....our first of many trips to the TTC and our day at Magic Kingdom!
