Day 6, January 18, 2001 (Thursday)

Early Entry into Magic Kingdom – we arrived in the park just before 7:30am. Main Street was almost completely empty. We strolled along taking lots of pictures of the castle and enjoying the sights of an empty park. We spent a lot of time in Fantasy Land riding Dumbo, Carousel, Winnie the Pooh, It’s A Small World, the TeaCups (several of these we rode many times, in some cases without even getting off the ride. After a while we ventured over to Tomorrow Land and rode the cars (Emily loves these) then hit Buzz, Astro Orbitor, Space Mountain and the TTA. As it neared 9am, we took the path from near Space Mountain that leads you around to Toon Town, this was great. We hit the Barnstormer (3 times) and then toured Mickey and Minnie’s houses. We then took the train around to Frontier Land. We had just enough time to hit BTMRR and Splash Mountain. Emily had trouble again with the measurement here, but we simply stated that she had ridden on e-night and they passed her through. After this is was just time for our 10:45am seating at Crystal Palace.

As always we love this breakfast. The food is always wonderful and the character interaction great. This time Piglet was present, but stayed put at the center of the restaurant. They began putting out lunch at 11:15 and our server told us to help ourselves, we were too full, but a nice gesture. They continued to have fresh breakfast right up until 11:30am. From 11:15am, there was virtually no one else in the restaurant and the characters really played it up with Emily. We have video with Tigger playing “chase” with Emily and even got a family picture of us with ALL FOUR characters.

We left MK and took the monorail over to Epcot where we spent the rest of the day. We rode Test Track first thing – a good ride, we had to baby swap with Emily, she had fallen asleep in the stroller. We then took the boat over from Showcase Plaza to Germany and spent some time at World Showcase. The character bus arrived and we got autographs from Esmeralda, Timon, Terk, Mushu, the Genie, and Donald Duck.

We left Epcot and rested up for our late night Hoop Dee Doo.

We enjoyed Hoop, but felt it was overall priced a little high. The show is funny and food average. We are glad we went, but it will not be something that we do each trip. I think we might like to try the BBQ or Luau next time.

Zip-A-Dee-Do-Dah…Tip for Today: Use the path from Tomorrow Land around to Toon Town, then take the Train over to Frontier Land. You can see a lot more of the park, with much less walking.
