I was just doing a little research for our "sneaky" trip (as we're calling it). It's just two of us from 1/30-2/3, just 4 nights. I priced 4 day tickets plus hopper option, 4 nights at Pop and it came to a total of $884. Then I thought I'd look and see how the package is different, expecting it to be a little cheaper. I put in the same info, 4 nights, I changed the ticket option to 4 days plus hopper (they originally had 5 day hoppers) and that came to $920.

I hadn't checked this before because we've had APs in the past so I'm confused. It looks to me like booking them seperately would make more sense. What does everyone else think about this? Is there a reason for it being this way?

Weird- your's seems more of a difference than when I did mine to compare. The difference in room only and tickets versus a package for us was less than $5- so we went ahead and did a package thinking we stood a better chance of getting a discount code. Did you take off the vacation insurance on the package- I think they automatically include it if you don't take it off.:confused3

Nope. Just checked. Insurance is an additional $119 on top of the $920 quote.

What about room category- is the higher the same room category- ie not preferred or something different from the room only? If not, I don't know. That is weird b/c it is more of a difference.

Did you remember to add sales tax to the ticket prices? I think the Disney website quotes them without tax. When you price out a package, it includes all the taxes.
