hello every one i would like your help please we are stopping overnight at the travel lodge on sunday the 30th at manchester airport. and was wondering where to go for our tea?. we would love somewhere we can watch the planes take off or land as we have to very excited kids aged 12 and 10 any suggestions would be greatfully accepted.

we have heard about a pub at the end off the runway but dont know anything else about it.

directions would be great and since its september indoors would be a advantage.

Hi Lee

Just returned on Fri. Not long for you now.

We stayed at Travelodge and did just what you plan to do.

If you leave out of reception and turn right and right again and cross over the road in front of hotel you should see a sign (aviation viewing platform or something like that) Anyway follow the path round to the left and then there is like a public footpath just set off but parallel to the road. Continue down this (its quite a trek!) and you will come to a pub (chef and brewer) which do nice food and have patio heaters to sit outside if its nice.

If you continue down this path you will notice it runs down the back of airport and just keep going. Eventually you will get to the viewing area which includes a concorde on display. Think it was a £1 entry but great for viewing planes and kids loved it. Its outdoors though.

A great way to start your hols, enjoy

There you go Lee.

We were too late to go in concorde, it was shut, but worth the £1 just to get into viewing area.
