I'd like to say thanks to Ian for all his hard work in making this available, esp to us Mac people who didn't have a good alternative previously.

Mouse Manager is currently downloading as I write.
Looks like I'll be deleting alot of my current worksheets, files and lists that I use to currently plan and track my DVC vacations once I install Mouse Manager and get it running.
To top it all off it was F R E E !!
Thanks again.

I just checked on both Windows and Mac, using IE, Firefox (Windows and Mac) and Safari (Windows and Mac) and the files download.
You might have a security setting that is blocking you from accessing a .exe file? Or, your ISP might be blocking it? Or, the server could have been busy when you tried to download. You could also clear your cache and try again.
I do know that there have been many successful downloads, because I am getting user registrations. So, I'm not sure what the issue might be, but encourage you to try again.

There seems to be some strangeness reported with Firefox. Apparently you although it is grayed out, you have to click on the button "Save" and then everything is ok.

I have been using the beta version and I am just amazed at how all inclusive Mouse Manager is. It does a great job tracking points and reservations, planning day to day, and budgeting. It is an amazing program.
Thanks Ian for this great tool!

I just downloaded this and it's a great program! The only problem I'm having is trying to enter my points-booked DCL trip! There doesn't seem to be a way to enter DVC trade info with points into the system - which could mean issues down the road with point totals.
Is there a way to enter a non-DVC or Disney Collection trade that I'm just missing?

If you are trading points out, you can use the "Transfer Out" field and make note of it in the Notes tab on the Contract Summary.

I highly recommend using this program. I was a beta tester (aka sevenyc, Ian!) and used it to archive my last two and current UYs, and to plan the trip we just took. It does a fantastic job tracking the points from both of our contracts, and I loved the vacation planning feature to document our flight information, ground transportation, plot our day-by day activities, and track our budget.
Thanks again, Ian, for all the hard work you put in to this program!

Ian, when I look at the screen shots for banking points at your download page it has the 50% and 25% banking window info. If it is this way now (I haven't downloaded the program yet) will it be changed to the new banking rule starting Jan 1, 2008 or is it in the program already.

Great question. DVC made the change just as I was finalizing and ending the beta test for version 1.0. I will be updating Mouse Manager to accomodate the new rules in the next "dot" version.

I also did beta testing for Ian and let me tell you this program rocks the house!!! I can't believe how much time Ian has invested into making this and now distributing it for free. It's pretty unbelievable if you think about it. Ian has really done us all a very big favor and at least for me my thanks is eternal to him. I've been using it for a while and to be honest I didn't really find any bugs and the couple I did were mentioned by someone else before I could. I imagine we'll see the update with the booking times resolved, perhaps a Christmas present to us from Ian lol. Either way the product is fantastic but not quite as much as Ian is himself for helping us all out in my opinion. Thanks bud!!! :thumbsup2

You don't need to import any points charts right now. The softwares comes with the 2007 and 2008 points charts included. Ian will make a new points chart for you to import when the 2009 points charts are available.

Cheers,
I can't seem to reproduce this problem. I tried it in the distributed version on both Mac and Windows, DVC Owners and Non-Owners views and the correct weather and click through seems to work. Everything displays as it should and clicks through as it should.
If there is a problem, this is very easy to fix since those little weather snippets are coming from HTML that is on the Mouse Manager web site.

The weather snippets don't show up, when I click on them it opens up a browser window to wwwa.accuweather.com. Of course this isn't the correct URL. I can send you a screen shot of it if you like. I love the software BTW!!!! :wizard:

Chris is correct. Mouse Manager comes complete with points. The "Import Points" button is used to import point updates.
I'll create a point update when the 2009 DVC charts are published and when the 2008 points for DL resorts are published.

Mouse Manager 1.0 is fabulous! This came out just in time for my trip to BWV this Friday! :cool1: I entered in all our info and printed out some great looking day by day plans and the packing list is great! I always leave the house thinking I've forgotten something (I usually do!), but this should help get my act together when I pack this week.
And thank you Ian for all your help with some e-mails I've sent (I'm the one with the DLH suite room question). Thanks again and great program! :thumbsup2

I had the priviledge of beta testing Mouse Manager.
I'm a planning junkie. I know most of you folks are too. This tool was just amazing. From helping us track our DVC points, to helping us know when to call to make future ressies, to helping us track our ADR's (and, eventually, print them WITH confirmation numbers) to helping us put together our PACKING lists...this application does it all.
It's very user friendly, very stable, and puts a TON of resources at your fingertips. I just, this past weekend, got to check out the new dining section (linked through the application, but existing on Ian's web site) and it is just as fantastic as the application proved to be.
There have been converstations, on the DIS boards, over the past few months where I've wished I could send people to download Mouse Manager. It's simply a GREAT resource for planing, and I wish Ian all the success in the world with it.

I also had the pleasure of testing Mouse Manager for Ian.
The reason I say pleasure is that I have worked with other programmers and software developers and their way was the only way the program was going to be written.
Not so with Ian and Mouse Manager, and I'm sure the other testers will agree with me in saying that all of our suggestions were noted and some changes made it to this version, and as Ian said wait until the next version appears.
If you are a DVC owner like myself you are capable of keeping track of your contracts, your points, planning your vacation from airport shuttle, to flight to hotel to tracking your advance dinner reservations by day, to day by day park events etc.......
Once again Ian, thanks for a great inclusive Disney vacation planning program and here's to your success with Mouse Manager.

Mouse Manager works on pcs AND macs! It tracks more than just points and has resources. Check the website:
http://www.mousemanager.com/
Caskbill has a great program for pcs that many here have used for a while. Someone who uses his program can be more specific.
My mac is my main computer so I was happy that Mouse Manager is for both platforms.

How does this differ from CaskBill's point tracking software?
CaskBill's program is great for detailed tracking and managing of points. It will only let you record what is exactly right (you can't enter trip that you don't have points for). MouseManager on the other hand is less rigid about point tracking. You can enter and plan trips that are only in the "maybe" stage. As well MouseManager acts as a central repository for all of the information you need for a vacation (Disney or otherwise). You can enter flights, rental information, other hotels, ADR's, budget information, .... The two programs can act in a complimentary way as both do something the other doesn't. I'm sure Ian will come along and add all of the things I've missed. :)

Hi everyone!
Just a friendly reminder.
If you downloaded Mouse Manager, don't forget to register. The only way I have to communicate with Mouse Manager users regarding new points tables, and new Mouse Manager versions and enhancements is by know who is using it.
There are 2 ways you can register:
1. Go to help or Mouse Manager help and choose "Register" from the drop-down.
- OR -
2. Go to the user preferences screen and click the "Done and Register" button.
I hope you are enjoying using Mouse Manager as much as I enjoyed creating it!

Just downloaded last night, set up my contracts, grouping, etc. Did a "points transfered in" for my developer points.
Then I entered my upcoming trip to Grand Californian (January 08) and the points are not showing up. Am I right to presume that GC points for 08 were not available in the database (and as such, I need to do an "import points chart")? Or is there maybe a bug in the GC code?
Otherwise, awesome program! THANKS!

Ian is on a Disney cruise this week so it might be a bit before you get an answer. I think the problem is likely a missing point chart. There aren't any new ones available now but I know that Ian talked about releasing some in November.

I just returned today from a cruise and a WDW vacation. The points for the Grand Californian are not in the system yet. DVC only publishes the Disney Collection points one year at a time, so I go off of their information.
As I said, I just returned today, and I haven't checked yet to see if DVC published the Disney Collection while I was away. If they have published them, I'll have the point updates available in the very near future.

I have been playing around with it, and we are in the process of planning a trip so it has really come in handy. Great job - I am sure it will continue to evolve, but I really like using it.
It is great to have everything in front of you, confirmation numbers, flight, car, hotel information right in front of you. Yesterday I got our vacation confirmed, spent the afternoon on the line with DVC Member Services, WDW-DINE, and the airlines. Now I have most of the vacation info in Mouse Manager and everything links nicely.
When we planned our restaurant visits I hit the links and get taken right to the menu's and reviews. I will make sure to contribute by adding a few restaurant reviews when I get back.
Thanks again - this is a GREAT tool to use, I love it.

I've been loading up our info and playing with it as well, and I'm really liking how comprehensive it is - everything I need is all together in one place now.The DVC tracker does a better job than the official DVC website of making sense of multiple contracts, imho. Also, if you haven't checked out the restaurant links - they're great - pictures and menus for all of 'em. Great job and thank you so much! :thumbsup2
