that "within a few hours" of the dollar hitting parity that DisneyWorld officials (they called them the largest marketing machine in the world) went live to "try to woo Canadians." I'm wondering if that means some good Canadians discounts being offered in the near future. :goodvibes

I think they are saying that right now, dollar at par, what a deal!!!!!!!!!!!

Saw an ad in the Toronto Star that had a fairy godmother saying "Parity - A Dream come true" -- or something pretty close to that. Thought it was funny actually.

My mom lives in Toronto, and upon seeing the ad called us directly...
"Don't suppose you've booked your next trip to Disney?" with a snicker...
Haha, why YES we have!! I think it took her by surprise, so we ended up having a good laugh. Being on PAR does come in handy :goodvibes

You got to love the fact that the dollar is doing so well. We're booking a trip to DW for the first time, it will be a long trip from Vancouver to Disney World, just imagine how cheaper it will be when the Loonie goes to 1.05 or higher, how much magic can you offord then.

I liked the deal thy had about 5 years ago. The room and tickets were sold at par. the Canadian dollar was around 70 cents at the time.:cool1:
Disney offers better deals when our Dollar isn't doing as well, to entice us to go! Our first trip was in 2004, and exchange was at $.46. Visa offered your trip at par, if you paid by Visa. I asked the last trip or 2 and they said since the Canadian dollar was doing better, they didn't offer the incentive. But par sure helps with the spending money, and the price of the trip itself:cool1:
