In case my DH can't find an alternate way of using his laptop in WDW, he'll go back to using the slower phone link (through Earthlink). Does anyone know which phone numbers are considered "local"? (Paying the $9.95/day fee really bugged him last time:mad: !)

Since he only has this need at WDW, paying the cost of a wireless card, plus monthly fee, isn't cost-effective either. :sad2:

TIA

Generally 407, but SOME 321's MIGHT be local--but generally Brevard County--ease of Orange County where Disney is.

Remember, in Orlando area, you MUST dial area code as well as local number.

I hope this doesn't confuse you more.

PS: The cost of local calls MIGHT exceed the $10/day that WDW charges for high-speed connections.

I think the OP was referring to phone prefix, not area code, since not all prefixes in area code 407 are local calls.

Can't answer right now, but the phone book in the room has all the information you need. They have various tables of all the local prefixes you can call from the location you're at. Just be sure to read it carefully.

Also, in case anyone needs to know, local calls for DVC members are now free.

I think that most numbers in the 407 area code will be local. The 407 area code is only for central florida. You can also go to www (dot) localcallingguide (dot) com and search for the area code & prefix you will be calling from. It will tell you all of the local exchanges.
