Hi
I said to everyone that I was not going to go next year, but I cant keep away. If Us Disney site offers free dining in August I will book a 10-14 night stay. Does anyone know when they will offer it or when they offered it for this year. I have looked on thier site and it doesnt mention it yet. I know VH etc are offering free dining, but the dates we need to go means high holiday prices. Booking seperately and cheap stop over flights would save us alot of money.
Am I right as well that I would only need to book a one day ticket to qualify for free dining throughout our stay or would I need a 10 day myw ticket. I have a annual pass, so I would rather get all of us a one day ticket to qualify.

Michelle, I believe it was announced this year around the beginning/middle of May. You do only need to buy a package including a 1-day ticket for each person in your party. However, free dining this year did not begin until 26th August and, correct me if I'm wrong, but your AP probably expires not long after that (if not before) so you will probably have to buy multi-day tickets if you are planning to visit the parks.

I booked through Disney US on April 12th this year for free dining.
You can book a hotel + ticket package with free dining through Disney UK just now I think. Check the website.

We had a leaflet left in our room last week offering free dining if we booked for 2008 before we checked out and if I remember correctly the dates for free dining were only for September next year and did not include august. I don't know if they will do similar dates if the give the free dining to the general public though. :confused3 :confused3

From waltdisneyworld.co.uk
Book a Disney Theme Park Ticket and Accommodation at select Disney Moderate, Deluxe or Deluxe Villa Resorts (part of the Disney Vacation Club family) between 23rd August and 6th November 2007 for travel most nights between 10th August and 27th September 2008 and you will receive dining, courtesy of Walt Disney Travel Company!*
Keep in mind the US Free Dining wasn't for as wide a time period as the UK one this year.

Dreams unlimited told me a few weeks back that it won't be offered until the spring and the dates will be for the last few days of August and September and you will be rquired to buy atleast a one day ticket.
You can book with a UK tour operator or the UK Disney site now and travel from earlier in August but you must also puchase a minimum of I think a 5 day hopper.

Hmmmm its decisions decisions. I have an annual pass that runs out on the 23 August. I need to work out if it would be beneficial.

Just had a look on Disney UK. The dates are perfect for us to receive free disney dining plan. Its certainly worth the sacrifice of 8 days of my annual pass.
Ok so now its persuading time. I need to convince my husband thats its his idea to go and not mine lol. Even though he is a disney fan too. He said we would take a year off after buying DVC this year.
I will obviously lie a little about the flight prices and exaggerate a little. What harm will that be aye :confused3 .
Oh I am so excited. I cant wait till dh comes home. Who knows I could have another ticker soon

If you are buying DVC this year then why not use it next year, the standard 1 bedroom villas at AKV do actually take 5, just only have one bathroom! Especially if you take the single developer points as that is only worth about £640 in real terms :teeth:

2 weeks in August at AKV would be 472 points, ideal if you had developer points and 07 UY points, plus 08 points it would break almost even.
