Day One

Lunch-Riverside Mill

We were expecting GREAT things from here as it was our 3rd year staying here and we had always loved the Mill for lunches and such. We went over to get some lunch while we waited on our room to get ready. I was not feeling to well and thought maybe if I sat down and ate it would help. Dh and I both ordered the bacon double burgers. We were not thrilled when we saw they were already sitting out and they put them on our tray. We then asked if those were the doubles and she said no and asks if doubles were what we wanted...we say yes.. so she lays them down and takes them apart, then takes apart more burgers which were just made up and sitting there and adds the meat to ours. DH, not thrilled at all over what she was doing asks for fresh burgers. Another guy there tells us that they were fresh. We just take them instead of putting up a fuss and then grab a brownie for desert and go sit down. I take a bite of my burger and I can tell it tastes really funny but thought maybe it was just me since I was feeling kind of bad. Dh then takes a bite of his and gets a funny look on his face and tells me that it is horrible. We were unhappy for sure since we had always loved the burgers there. So, dh takes them back up and comes back with chicken tender/fish baskets with fries. These were very good.:)

As I am sure you will notice we did not order any childs meals. We thought they looked horrible so we were allowed to upgrade ds to an adult ticket. We soon realized he was not going to want to eat much of anything so he ate on our meals the whole time. Even then I was having to force him to eat. He wanted all the deserts and nothing else. Typical 4 year old I guess but boy did I have to fight him on that the whole time.

Ok, sorry to get off track..

So for Riverside Mill.. I am giving them a C- for this visit since the second part of the meal was actually good..lol

and here are some of the pics...

I did not take pics of the burgers! :crazy2:

Dinner-Liberty Tree Tavern

This is a first nights tradition for us so we were looking forward to it as well.

We were a little early checking in for our ressie so we just waited around. While there waiting I met 2 Dis'ers which was totally cool! :) After a while we were seated at a nice table in the right side by the fireplace. All of the food was soon brought out and all was good as usual. The turkey was my fave. Dh loves it all. DS mainly loved the mac-n-cheese..lol

So, even though this was good.. I must say without going into too much detail that this made all 3 of us SICK! We were going to eat here again on MNSSHP night and changed our minds after this. We were scared of getting sick again. Not sure what did it to us but it was not a good feeling.

They did bring ds a cupcake for his..um..pretend birthday. :rotfl2: (you can read about this in my trip-report when I do it later) He enjoyed that.

Based on the food at the time I would give this a B+..but based on how sick we all were I would give it an F.

Later this night after we started feeling better we went into Pecos Bill to split a cheese burger and fries and get a drink. As usual this gets an A from us! Always good stuff! ;)

Lunch-Wolfgang Puck Express

This is our fave counter service in Disney and it held up to it this trip as well. We love the Roasted Chicken and Potatoes. YUMMY! A+++ from us all!
Service here is always so fast and friendly as well. Just a great place to eat.

Dinner-Whispering Canyon Cafe

We made the mistake of eating late for lunch this day (almost 4pm) and we had dinner for WCC for 7pm! Needless to say I was NOT hungry yet but tried to eat anyways.

I had the cheese and suasage plate and dh had the wings. Both were good but dh said the wings were not as tasty as they normally are. We all ate on the cheese plate and liked it a lot. Then we both had the Chicken Pasta. This was SPICEY! I could hardly eat mine but boy was it good. For dessert we got the Choc Cake and the Cinn Banana thing (minus the bananas..lol)
All of this was very good. Oh yes and I had my yummy Strawberry shake which I had been looking forward to for a year..haha

Service was great. He brought dh a huge glass and long straw which we needed with that pasta..lol He also had all the kids bring ds crayons and sing to him for his "birthday". :lmao:

WCC gets an A from us! :thumbsup2

Lunch- Pizzafari

We got to AK early this day and were hungry at 11 so we headed over to Pizzafari to eat. We were not too thrilled with the choices so we just got pizza and drinks. We were annoyed to find out they did not give straws. We never knew this before. DS can not drink from a cup without a straw and he was really thirsty so this was a real pain. Not too much to say about this place really. Food was typical. Choices could have been a lot better though. Just not what we wanted maybe.

I will give this one a C.

Dinner-Ragland Road

We had never tried this place before but had heard great things about it so we were looking forward to it.

We checked in for our ressie a little early and were seated pretty fast. The place is beautiful. We really liked it. We got a nice table and some bread was brought out which was pretty good. We both had the drunk chicken as an appetizer and it was WONDERFUL. Then dh ordered the sirloin and I got the salmon. I was being brave in ordering this hoping I would like it. Sadly, I did not and they brought me the steak instead. It was very good as were the potatoes. We both were very pleased. For dessert I was looking forward to the Raspberry Riot but she said they did not have it anymore and instead it was a strawberry thing similar to it so I got that and dh got the dunbrody kiss (for me..he is not a dessert person too much but does like to taste them). I really enjoyed both. I thought the Kiss would be too sweet but it was not.. I thought it was wonderful. I almost made myself sick trying to eat it all! :rotfl: YUMMY!!!

This was a great meal. Service was not overly friendly imo but the food and atmosphere made up for that!

This one gets an A for sure! :thumbsup2

Lunch- Chefs de France

We went up to be seated early for our adr and were seated right away. We got a nice table near the windows and thought it was a beautiful place to eat.

We had the cheese plate and the 4 cheese flatbread as appetizers. Both were good. Loved the flatbread and one of the cheese selections. The rest were a little too creamy for my taste. I like a firm cheese.. ;)

On to the main dish.. We were going to share so we got one burger plate and one chicken plate. The chicken was very good as were the potatoes. The burger was a different story. It was undercooked and slimey. We sent it back and ordered the mac-n-cheese plate. When this came out it was set down in front of me and I was not told the plate had just come out of the oven...so I went to move it over a bit and burned my hand on it. She THEN tells me it is hot! :sad2: Yeah, think I figured that out now. So, while keeping one hand in ice throughout the rest of the meal I still was managing to take some pics and eat. The mac n cheese was actually very good. I enjoyed it a lot. The dessert came and was alright..nothing great but not too bad either.

We thought this meal was pretty good but not sure if we would eat here again. We give this one a B-.

Dinner-Le Cellier

Our fave meal as always! :goodvibes

We had the duck and the cheese soup as starters. We then both moved onto the filet without the sauce. All were wonderful. For dessert we got the Choc Cake which I adored and the Moose which ds devoured! :rotfl:

Just so you know, AK doesn't have straws because of the animals. They blow around and the animals can choke on them. DS wouldn't drink out of a regular cup? I hope he didn't get too thursty.

Yeah, that is what they were telling us. We understood that but at the same time it just made it hard when we did now know that in advance. ;) DS can not manage to drink from a cup yet for some reason. He has to have a sippy cup or a straw. Otherwise he keeps his mouth open and drink spills all over him. No matter how hard we work with him on this it still seems to be a problem. We ended up getting him frozen lemonade and slushies that he could eat/drink with a spoon to help keep him pleny hydrated all day that day.

Lunch- Pinocchios

We have always thought Pinocchios was a good choice in MK when we are hungry and on the dining plan b/c it is one of the few places you get a side with a pizza...and when that side is Figaro Fries..well all the better..haha ;)

So we had 2 pizza's, 2 sides of Figaro Fries, 2 large drinks, a milkshake and a choc cake. We all 3 enjoyed the pizza and fries. DS had about half the milkshake and decided he was full. We gave the chocolate cake away to another family since we were all full. :)

Everything was very good and we give this one an A. :thumbsup2

Dinner- Kona Cafe

First, I just have to say how much I love the Poly. Everyone there is always so nice and I feel so at home there. Being on the monorail helps a great deal too. :rotfl: We got to Kona around our adr time and were seated farily quickly. We were brought out some bread and butter which were very tastey. I had the chicken noodle soup and dh had the Pot Stickers. We both liked each. I even got ds to eat a pot sticker..lol For the main dish we both had the Char Crusted Filet's. Very very tastey! The potatoes were very good as well. Have you noticed how many times we have had potatoes this week already? lol They were always so good. For dessert dh and ds had the Kona Kone and I had the Choc Macadamia Nut Tart. All was very good. DS got a puff thing for his "birthday". I am dying laughing at this point over the whole birthday thing as it was really dh's b-day and he never got to celebrate. :lmao:

Anyways, food was all good here as well the service.

Kona Gets an A as well! :thumbsup2

A lot of eating this day.. :rotfl:

Early Lunch- Sommerfest

Dh wanted something different this day and we choose to try Sommerfest since we were strolling through World Showcase that morning. We went right in, got our food fast and got a nice seat to sit down and rest and enjoy the meal. We each had the Bratwurst, Pretzels and Large drinks.

Everything was pretty tastey but just a little too much salt in one meal.. ;)

We give this one a B.

Snack/Dessert- Kringla Bakery

I went here with the intention of finally trying the school bread.. well...when I got in and started looking at all the amazing goodies in the case I choose the Sweet Almond Pretzel. It just looked so good. So now I have been to Disney 3 times and not tried the School bread! The pretzel was just devine though!

A+ from me!!!

Early Dinner- Crystal Palace

We had LTT booked for this night but after it making us sick the first night we thought we would try to get Crystal Palace. They said it was all booked up b/c of MNSSHP (which we were going to be at) but we took our chances and walked up just after 4pm and asked if we could be seated. They said yes and seated us within 5 mins. The decorated the table since we were celebrating an anniversary and a birthday. It was cute. The food was good. The chef even made me a special plate of Chicken pasta without the mushrooms since I do not eat them. It was really good as well. We had a little bit of this and that and all was pretty good to us. I even got ds to eat more than he had ate on the whole trip thus far. He had a plate of mac-n-cheese, a pb&j, some chicken strips and a little dessert. I was shocked to see him eat so much. Character interaction was ok but totally crowded. Ds had a ton of fun playing with the little girl at the table next to us. :rotfl:

We give Crystal Palace a B+. :) (dh wanted some friend chicken so it did not quite hit the spot for him.. :lmao: )

and no I am sorry, I did not take pics of the whole buffett... ;)

Late Dinner-Caseys

We strolled though here just before closing at midnight and were hungry so we grabbed a couple dogs, fries and brownies. All was very good. We always love Caseys late at night. Sitting on the bleachers watching the old cartoons and enjoying our cheesey hot dogs and fries. :goodvibes

A+ from us! :thumbsup2

Breakfast-Mainstreet Bakery

So, I have you know, I have never ate any breakfast item at all at the MK bakery. I had heard so many good things about it that I finally gave it a go on this morning. DH and DS were not really hungry so I was just grabbing something for myself to try. I had the HARDEST time picking between the Cinnamon Sticky Bun and the French Toast Loaf. I finally choose the FT Loaf though. I used 2 snack credits and got a loaf and a bottle of OJ. :goodvibes It was really good although I think I liked the loaf better without the syrup as it made it too soggy.

This gets a B+. I am now really wishing I had tried the Sticky Bun though! :rotfl:

http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z251/acoley27/IMG_7384.jpg

Lunch- CHH

We had never tried this little place out for lunch before so we gave it a shot when we got hungry this day around lunch time.

DH and ds went to get a table and I stayed in line to order. The line was insane. It took almost 30 mins to get the food here. It was all very good though. We had one fish and chicken basket and one just chicken. We had the choc cakes for desserts. I let ds eat one and I gave the other one away again.. I actually yelled out asking who wanted it after asking 3 people who said no? Is is weird to offer free food to people when it has not even been opened? Not like I was offering my half eaten sandwich or anything, right? :lmao: Some people looked at me like I was nuts though. SO I finally yelled out.. "Anyone want some cake??? Going Once, Twice," ... and then I just sat it down on the table near the door and walked out. DH saw a lady come and get it after we walked out though. :confused3

I give this one a B- simply for the wait.

Dinner-Kona (again)

Not much point in this review or pics since we ate pretty much the same thing again.. :rotfl: This time though the service lacked big time!! We did have WCC booked again on this night but we changed our minds and went up to Kona at 4 and asked could we be seated for dinner and she told us they could give us the first seating at 5! Sounds great! We wanted something a little nicer on our anniversary night so this had been a great meal before.

This night we had a nice table and were quite hungry but our waiter was less than friendly and even tossed plates down on the table. He seemed to rush us all night and was not friendly. Made me quite sad b/c this was the night of our anniversary which I told him about while dh went to the bathroom just after being seated since I was hoping to buy a special dessert for him. He quickly snaps that all the do is a puff and walked away! Geee!!! I was not asking for YOUR PUFF dude! I was wanting to buy my dh something special for our anniversary!! Anyways, we went on with our meal.. for some reason he gave us rice with our filets.. we asked for some fries instead of the asparagus but we got rice instead! :confused3 So much for a nice meal on our special night, huh? So I tried the pot stickers without the sauce..did not like them and just asked for the soup again, The soup came out soppy as can be. It was all mushy like it had been cooked for hours and hours..lol I tried to enjoy it anyways. DH got the sticky wings and he enjoyed them. Our filets were very good though. For desserts we had the same as the first night and then our puffs were tossed at us as he walked away.. :rolleyes1 :sad2:

So, on this night we have to give Kona a D! :sad1:

Breakfast-Ohana

I was really looking forward to trying this one out. It would be our first breakfast at Disney. We are not huge breakfast eaters but we thought this would be a fun way to end the trip.

We arrived late b/c of the bus service but were seated within 5 mins. They were very friendly and never even said a word about us being late.

We were seated at a nice table beside the window. We were handed a basket of bread and then some Mickey waffles were brought out. I am not a fan of pinapple so I did not try that bread but the cinnamon raison bread was to die for. I ate that and then 2 mickey waffles. All were so yummy! A plate of fresh fruit was brought out followed by the skillet of bacon, potatoes, eggs, sausage and biscuits. I loved every bit of it. Seriously, this was a GOOOOD breakfast. I wish I could have eaten more. DH was not a big fan of the food b/c the main breakfast he likes is overcooked eggs, sausage, toast and grits. He did love the sausage but thought the others were just ok. He will not eat eggs unless he cooks them...:rotfl: he did say the character interaction was the best it had been anywhere though. There was Mickey, Pluto, Lili and Stitch. It was very nice and ds had a blast with the characters. He danced and played with them and Mickey even fed him his Mickey waffles. :rotfl: It was such a nice morning. I really enjoyed it.

I give this one an A+ and hope I can talk dh into it again. ;)

Late Lunch-Riverside Mill

We were rushing to use up the last of our credits so we crazily choose to run into Riverside Mill and grab a quick bite on our way to Planet Hollywood!! :scared1: What were we thinking??

So we had chicken tenders and a salad. For desserts we had a fresh baked cookie and a slice of carrott cake. All was good.

Dinner-Planet Hollywood

We had one credit left to use plus we had the voucher for here so we thought we would have a little Planet Hollywood before hitting the road.

We had the chicken crunchers, chicken club sandwich, chicken penne pasta and the choc cake. All of it was wonderful!! Service was ok and the place was loud and crazy as usual..lol

We give PH a A-.

Time to raid the fridge. I'm starving now. Those bacon cheese fries look like a guilty pleasure.

I really enjoyed your reviews and your awesome pictures! You guys ate at several places we are planning for our trip in two weeks--I just hope we don't get sick from LTT b/c we have adr's the night of MNSSHP! The picture of your DS looking out the window of Pinnochio's toward the castle is just precious; might just be worth a visit there just to sit at that booth!!

Thanks again, and I'll be moseying over to your TR to learn about the un-birthday now. It will be Dh's bday when we go, and I'm worried about DD6 being upset that we will never be able to go on her actual bday in April. Her exact "half-bday" will be during the trip though, so I'm making her an un-bday shirt to wear when we go to breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. I can totally understand your DH having to give up his bday for your son!
