Disney Cruise Swap Signups - Closed

This swap will be due on November 24. Please mail by November 17 to allow adequate time for the package to reach me. Check in dates will be: October 7 and October 28.

This is a Disney Cruise Element Swap. You will create 2 elements for each group you sign up for. You can choose from any of the elements below, or come up with any of your own creations.

All elements should be double-matted and embellished unless otherwise noted!!

1 Topper – 8 inch long by 2 inch wide
2 Borders (a pair) – 11 inches long (or 12 inches long that can be cut to 11)
2 Journaling Boxes--minimum 3"x3" writing space
4 embellished squares--largest mat should be no larger than 2"
2 Photo Frames--for a 4 x 6 photo & the Sizzix dies are ok (you need to crop a bit from the photo to use these.) Two layers on the frame would make the photo seem double matted.
2 Photo Mats--for a 4 x 6 photo without cropping. Again, two layers as the photo sits on top of these.
2 Tags--no smaller than 2 x 3 and larger is fine; double matted PLUS fiber/ribbon and/or eyelet/brad in the hole.
1 Journaling Box n Tag--one journal box with matching tag (see details above)
1 Mini File folder--embellished but need not be double-matted
1 Library Pocket and Tag--embellished but need not be double-matted
1 Shaker Box
1 Paper Piecing
1 Matted Poem or song Lyric--text area must be no smaller than 2 1/2 by 3 1/2


Since we usually only have a cruise swap once a year, you may sign up for as many groups as you would like. I will add more groups as needed. However, please do not sign up for more than you think you can handle. I will keep signups open for a few days to allow as many people to join as would like to.

Please package your items for each group in separate Ziplocs for each person and label with your name so we know who made it. Place all of the bags for each group in a larger bag to protect them in case of rain. Include $4.60 for return postage (cash or stamps is fine). Be sure to PM me with your contact information (address, phone number, email). I will PM everyone with my information once the swap has closed.

This is my first time hosting (although I've been in tons of swaps), so if you can think of anything I've missed, let me know.

You don't have to tell me your elements, just your topic.

I always have a moment of panic before I open them, what if they don't look like they did on the computer screen? But they look great! I'm so excited for this swap!

Hope - I'm sure they look fabulous! I would have loved to have done the TransAtlantic!!! We just got off our cruise on Saturday and I'm already trying to figure out when I can get the pictures printed! Granted I probably won't scrap them for months, but I need to see them!

Those are cute. We never had birds. On our second night, we got an elephant (I travel with a stuffed elephant) and I kept him the whole time. The other great one we had was a barbary ape the day we were in Gibraltar. The photo is a bit dark. The flash didn't fire, and I went to take another, and DH had started moving him and he fell apart. Good thing my parents were in the room next store and got a fully lit photo. DH would have been in the dog house. Don't move things until I say, "I got it!"

The towel animal pictures are great. Gee, it was just few nights ago I had some of those. For some reason, DH doesn't turn down the bed, put a chocolate on my pillow, and create animals from household linens. I'll have to work on him about that.

I'm finalizing the groups for this swap and I was thinking of combining groups 8 and 9 to make one group (I'll join that group so there are 3 participants instead of 2). I'm not sure what to do about Group 3 (Eastern). I obviously still want 4ltltinks to participate, but not sure where to put her. I certainly don't want to put her in the Western group if she's never done a Western cruise! Would the group 5 participants mind if we made that a group of 6? That way she can still do her theme of Castaway Cay. I know it is a "Wonder" group, but the topics chosen are good for both ships.

Let me know your thoughts.

If it would help at all, I will take a spot in the last group that you are considering combining.

And, phooey, I'm not in the Magic group that has Golden Mickey's because I haven't been on the Magic, so I would do that for the last group if that seems OK to you. Otherwise, I have a bunch of embellishments for the cruise ship already (outside of the ship).

I already got the embellishments for one of my elements for Group 5 at Michaels sale, but I can go out and get another later, so adding a 6th person would be fine.
