Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I will be posting signups for the Disney Cruise Element Swap tomorrow afternoon. I will leave the signups open for a few days and add as many groups as needed. I will be having small groups of 5 or 6 and it will be open to anyone who wants to join. Does anyone have any suggestions on how they would like to see the groups divided, or should I just leave it general? I'm open to any suggestions. We only have a cruise swap about once a year so I want to make sure that people will be able to get the most out of it.
I just returned from my Disney Cruise yesterday so I am ready for this swap!! :cool1: :goodvibes

I can't wait. I ordered my cruise pics from the Trans-Atlantic last week. I haven't done a cruise swap before.
Can we have a "color" group, like we did for the AK swaps? (ideas: sand, water, nautical, ships colors, colors taken from the 130 different kinds of carpet they have onboard [heard that on one of the tours  ])

A color group would be great. I know I need a ton of cruise stuff. I have 3 Disney cruises to scrap, plus DH and I are going in January!!! Yes- I'm very spoiled!!!!!
I didn't know about the 130 kinds of carpet! More vacuuming than I could handle!
Any other suggestions?

::yes:: me too! me too!!
i'm finishing a 9 x 9 album and my April cruise is next. I was Western with ports of Key West, Cozumel, Grand Cayman -- if there is enough interest in specific ports?
i really like the color idea too!
what else do i have to scrap for that cruise?
Formal night
Semi-formal night
Cruise food -- yes i take pictures of those beautifully plated dishes :teeth:
Cove cafe
towel animals
Tequila/margarita tasting
Midnight dessert buffet
Parasailing
Swimming with dolphins
i know alot of that is pretty specific but i just thought i'd throw it out there if anyone else has the same layouts in mind

I just got off the Western, so I'd have use for those ports as well. We also do the 4 night which stops in Nassau.
Some other specific topics I had thought of are:
pool
Castaway Cay
Animator's Palate
Lumiere's/Triton's
Parrot Cay
Palo
shows
Pirates in the Caribbean night
character greetings
Maybe we could have groups specific to the ships. For example the Magic could have some of those ports, Lumiere's, etc. The Wonder could have Triton's, Nassau, etc. I'm not sure if there would be enough lucky cruisers to do a Mediterranean group for Hope.

It's even worse than that. It was only the Trans-Atlantic. So only 2 groups of cruisers! And I think if you add the total people on both of those ships, it isn't even enough to normally fill the ship!
Maybe you can have an Eastern ports of call group, and a western ports of call, but put Castaway Cay in the "General" group, since everyone goes there.
I also did a 3-day that needs scrapping.
EDIT:
I suppose you could have a Wonder group, Magic - East, Magic - West. I have done some of the westbound ports on a non-Disney cruise (Grand Cayman, Cozumel) but as part of a Disney trip and I haven't scrapped the cruise pics either.

OK, so I'll do these groups:
Colors
General
Magic - Eastern
Magic - Western
Wonder
I can open multiple groups for each topic if there is enough interest.
Any other thoughts?

I really need a DCL swap but the timing with everything else that's going on is rough for me so I don't know that I can do it. :sad1:

I told you I would send you the far east paper if you told me which you needed. I think I have 2 or 3 of those stacks....I love the paper and figured I might use it sometime if and when I ever start scrapping!

Well, I did want another pack myself. Just had to find the right time, money wise, JoAnn's had them for half off recently, so it was the right time. Plus it's easier to justify when I say, "but I need it for a project." :rotfl2:

Oh, I know.......I only buy those when they're half off. Really cool paper, though!

YodasMom -
Would pushing the due date back a week or two help you? I would hate for you to miss out, especially since the cruise swaps are so few and far between.

It might help, but please don't do it just for me. It depends what's involved in this one.
I have so much going on at the end of Oct. and first of Nov.....I really don't know if I can do it right now.

YodasMom-
I don't mind changing the due date at all. I will be in Disneyland from 11/13 - 11/17. We could either have it due on 11/9 which would allow me to mail them back before I go, or we could have it due when I get back. I'm really flexible. Just let me know. I was planning on having it be a two element swap for each group.

I would really, really like to do this one but my end of October/very early November is looking pretty busy at the moment. I would LOVE an 11/9 or 11/17 due date.
Just my $0.02 (not that it was solicited.)

OK, why don't we have a due date of November 24. That will give me a little time to recover from vacation. Hopefully that will work better for everyone. I would love to have as many people able to participate as possible. :)
