Which would you recommend......Publix or Walmart for groceries? I know what a Super Walmart is like and I assume that's what it is. But I've never been to a Publix.

Coming from MCO & heading for POP, is one a lot more convenient than the other? :confused3

THANKS!

Either one is good. Prices at both are about the same. We stop at both sometimes or whichever one we're closer to. Publix is just a regular grocery store but since it's local the prices are good. Pricewise, I'd take it over Gooding's in a heartbeat. I find the Publix deli to be much better than any of the WalMart ones when it comes to cold cuts. However, I find some things at the Super WalMarts that I don't at Publix. We drive and hit just about every Super WalMart on the way down which now is up to about 6 stores. By the time we actually get to Disney property, I'm usually well stocked on stuff including stuff to bring home that I can't find since Gainesville doesn't have a Super WalMart.

Which Wal-Mart is closest to the hotel/airport? We are flying in, but will have our own car.

Is it the one on Vineland in Kissimmee?

The Super Wal-mart and a Super Target is on 192 east of WDW towards kissimmee.
The Target is the Closest. Target on the right side of the road leaving WDW Wal=mart is on the left side.

Hmmm don't you have that backwards, IIRC the Super Target is on the left a little past the KOA on 192 heading from WDW into Kissimmee and the Super Walmart on the right at the Bass Rd. intersection where 192 takes almost a 90 deg turn to the left.

wal-mart and publix are NOT the same price wise. walmart is ALOT cheaper than publix. yes publix deli does have "better" meats, but, walmart has a brand named prima dela that is pretty close to their boars head ;) we shop at walmart because they have EVERYTHING you need and you can get it all at one stop rather than stopping at publix and then at another store to pick up, oh..a bathing suit because you forgot it at your house.

If you are looking for convenience, go with Publix. Walmart tends to be more crowded and is a bit further away as well. We live in Celebration right by the Publix on 192. The only time we find it really crowded is on Sunday's when the tour buses seem to roll in and have all of the passengers run in for some quick purchases. That's when the lines get as long as they do at Walmart. Publix will save you some time.:hourglass
