How insane would it be to stay at DRP for 3 nights but only visit the park one day....Ok, so hear me out :D

The prices for Paris hotels are ridiculous right now. Is there some event going on Oct. 18-21 that I don't know about? Football or something? Anyway, so being the Disneylovers that we are we want to visit DRP for one day of our 3 days slated for Paris. But the prices are scaring me for staying in Paris!

However we can stay at Sequoia for a very reasonable package rate. It's cheaper to stay there and pay for park tickets we won't even use than to book separately or to stay in Paris.

So how crazy is it? If we did it would we want to rent a car or is the public transportation good. How long for driving or train? Please be honest as I know this might be a ridiculous idea. Thanks!

Shelly

It is possible there is a rugby world cup event going on then. Or fashion week?

i don't think it would be that crazy - some of my friends are talking about coming with us in january and using the Sequoia as a base, and going to the parks a couple of days and into paris for a couple of days.

Though I wonder if you would be even cheaper getting a room only price and buying a one day ticket for the parks?...Maybe not actually!

Doesn't sound crazy to me at all :)
Other bonus with the extra park tickets inc. would be if you're back and its still open (20th, 21st - 10pm) you could pop in briefly if you wished. :thumbsup2

I would suggest that you would want to fact in public transport as driving around Paris would not be for the faint hearted ;)

we're staying at cheyenne for 8 nights but for 3 days we won't be at disneyland. the train from chessy takes around an hour, i think - maybe less. it's not expensive. also there are lots of castles to see in marne-la-vallee and the aquarium and shops at val d'europe.
i think we'll get more out of the hotel the days we're not at disneyland, actually.

I think this is a great idea. If you don’t use the days on your tickets you can sell them afterwards on ebay. They don’t expire very fast.

You only need 5 minutes to walk from the SL to the train station at DLRP.
The cost for the public transportation is not very high for 4 days. And the RER only need 45 minutes from DLRP to the centre of Paris. No point in Paris is more than 500meter away from the next Metro station.

And as a bonus you will have the great atmosphere of the Disneyhotels and Disney Village every evening and morning. And you will see the characters in the hotel and you will have the Disneychannel for free.

So do it do it do it. This is a great idea!

Thanks everybody! I'm going to seriously think of this as an option. The nice thing is I know what to expect staying at a Disney resort hotel since the only way I can afford a nicer hotel in Paris is priceline and that's always a gamble. :goodvibes Thanks again!

Just to let you know that the Rugby World Cup Final takes place on 20th October and the Third-place Play-off takes place on 19th October. Both are being played in the Paris area.

It is also the first week-end of many UK schools half-term holiday.

not crazy at all. we have not done this, but have considered it - how lovely would that be after a day in paris to come back to a disney hotel and disney village :) a happy and safe environment that you know you love! :)

:goodvibes Thanks everybody! We have decided to do this idea! Yay! It's ridiculous in Paris that weekend because of all the events mentioned above which made it a much easier choice. I have another question which I'm going to post seperately as well, but here it is here for anyone following my crazy thread! :D

What are my options for getting to CDG on the Sunday morning (the 21st). We have a very early flight and from what I could see the RER is not running that early. Suggestions?
