We are a family of 5 - all adults - visiting Disney parks only from Jan. 1-6 with a rental car. Need accomodations with 2 bathrooms - not interested in renting a villa. Anyone with experience staying at Residence Inn in LBV or Staybridge Suites LBV? They both offer 2 bedroom, 2 bath suites, and full breakfast. SS is a little cheaper but the property looks a bit dated in the online photos. RI looks better maintained but appears a little more isolated from grocery, restaurants, etc. Any thoughts?

I've stayed at the Res. Inn several times and we really like it. The rooms are spacious, beds are comfy, the pool area is nice, and Publix is a short drive away. Since you'll have a car I wouldn't worry about driving; plus, from the Res. Inn there is a back road shortcut to the MK. The breakfast is pretty decent (nice selection of hot and cold, everything is clean) and during the week they have evening snacks/small meals to choose from. Sometimes you can get good rates directly from the Marriott website, so be sure to give that a look. :)

We stayed at the Residence Inn LBV last fall and had a great experience. Very comfortable beds and very quiet. Good location. The free breakfast had a good variety of selections with healthy options - LOVED the oatmeal with toppings (coffee was terrible tho but I prefer the premium coffees).

We haven't stayed at the Residence but have stayed at Staybridge. We really liked it. Very clean, nice staff and nice pool. Also serve a great breakfast.

How long did it take to drive to MK from Residence Inn? On the back road?

The price difference between the two hotels for our stay is $300 total (RI being the more expensive choice). I have generally been happy with other Marriott properties in the past but have never stayed at a Staybridge so it's good to hear things about both.

Thank you! Is that pretty average drive time for offsite?

It depends on the area. It's about 15 minutes to Staybridge since it is very close to the entrance to Downtown Disney. You probably can't go wrong with either property.

If you have a copy of the Unofficial Guide, Part 3 is a great chapter showing charts of all the Orlando area hotels with driving times to each each of the 4 Disney parks.

We've stayed at Staybridge Suits twice, both times for 7 day trips and we are staying there one night this year before we check into CSR.. I do not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.
Excellent service, Excellent rooms, GREAT breakfast and so close to DTD
