NEW! You can now arrange for a private photo session with a Disney PhotoPass photographer at the Grand Floridian Resort. The session includes around 40 photos taken around the picturesque resort and its beach. Pricing is either $49.95 for a PhotoPass card containing your photos which can then be added to your disneyphotopass.com account or $124.95 which will get you a PhotoCD with your images. If you choose to get the PhotoCD, you can save your receipt and CD and exchange it later on during your vacation for a new PhotoCD containing all of your PhotoPass images. The only catch is you won't be able to make enhancements to any of the photos. The only way to be able to make enhancements without purchasing another PhotoCD product is to buy the $49.95 package and then add it to your PhotoPass account online. Call 407-824-1700 to make reservations up to 30 days in advance or for additional information.

Note: GET THE PHOTO SESSION FOR FREE! If you pre-order the PhotoCD via the link below for $99.95 and bring the email as proof, the sitting fee will be waived. This offer is reported to end after October though. Those engaging in shared PhotoPass groups will not all be able to take advantage of the free offer according to Cast Members.

Can you tell us a little about the actual shoot - did they take 40 pictures? Were they all "set" or did the photographer ask would you like this or this?

Thanks for sharing - I LOVE pictures and this would be so great for our next trip!

The shoot worked like this: We showed up at our appointed time at the photopass desk at the second floor of the Grand Floridian.

Our photographer, Faith, introduced herself to us and said we would be walking around the lobby of the hotel and also the beach area to take some photos.

She then walked us around and posed us around the resort. We ended up taking around 53-63 photos and she did ask our opinion about some different shots.

Faith told us that since this program is so new the format and poses aren't really set in stone. The whole thing lasted about 25 minutes but I'm sure families take longer.

We felt pretty spceial to be treated to a "private" photo shoot and highly recommend it to everyone.

great pics and I am glad that you were able to get it to work! Now how exactly does the package work. For 49.95 is that a CD with all the pics on it? I am a lil confused on how much it is and what you get it. I read the information that a pp had posted , but i cant figure out if its 49.95 just for the pics to be put on the photopass card or you get a photo cd. I dunno I am just confused, maybe its plain as day and I just am not getting it which is quite possible. lol

We just did this during our Aug '07 trip. Hadn't heard about the deal, just stumbled upon it when we dropped the kids off for their Pirate Adventure cruise at the GF. It was a lot of fun - never take good photos of ourselves! - and this was wonderful. We were planning to get the Photopass anyway (always do), and couldn't get the pre-sale $99 site to work, just before leaving on our trip.

So, we just signed up at the desk on the 2nd floor of the GF (near the monorail entrance). We wanted the "free" shoot which is included with the $129 PhotoPass price. We made an appointment for the next night, when we were all dressed up for a fab dinner at Narcoosee's (without the kids:banana: ). It took about 35 minutes, the warm and friendly photographer took about 75 photos in what seemed like zillions of poses and locations around the GF. The images were uploaded to a CD, we took the CD and went to dinner and then enjoyed the rest of our vacation. On our last day, we returned to the GF with our CD and had all our other vacation images added to the GF posed shots. They can fit 300 images on one CD, but will give you as many CDs as you need to fit all your Photopass images. Many, many of the posed shots were great and we used Target.com when we got home to print out the photos and made enlargements of the best ones.

It was fun to be spoiled - and it was free!

Once ya have the all you can eat package, be creative with your photopass shots.

Do I need to purchase both the regular photopass ($99 using pre-sale site) and then purchase the GF photo CD for $129.95 which includes the photo shoot?

Or would I purchase the $129.95 GF photo CD and then have all of my WDW photopass photos added to the CD?

I'm like greeneyedchic75, very confused :confused3 :rotfl:

the smartest thing to do in my opinion is pre-order the photocd online for $100

the GF will then be $25 with proof

so for $125, you get the photopass that you can make enhancements to.

i could explain the other options, but they're more expensive or more limiting.

I was told its $25 for a sitting fee even with prepaid photopass CD. Its $50 for the sitting fee if you don't have the photopass. I still think its a great idea and a good value for what you get. I can't wait until our trip.

I'll try to post a couple pictures later, but I loved doing the photo session, it was a little odd. Our photographer wanted my dad to take off his glasses and he's never gone without them. I'm doing this again in December with a bunch of friends.

We just did this last week and are really happy with most of our pictures. My two suggestions -

TAKE PROOF OF PREPURCHASE! I was not told on the phone that we needed this, so when we arrived, I was told I needed it and was sent to the business center to print it off.

The dusk shots looked great that I saw. The sunset was beautiful and you don't have to worry about the bright sun like we did. DH looks quite amusing in some of the photos. We did ours right at 1 o'clock.

It was windy the day that we did ours, so my hair looks a little goofy in some of them. DDs have some funny hair, too, but the outside shots of them are great. I'll share when I get my cd back. Our photographer told us the next place they are working on is the Polynesian.

Here are our pictures. I hate posting pictures of myself, but here they are. What you should learn from my pictures (besides not to eat too many cookies) is that if you can plan for a time when the sun isn't glaring in your face would be better. The sun was horrible. Not to complain, because we loved the weather, but they seem to take the pictures in the same location, so I don't know if morning would be better or even at dusk, as those pictures were really nice. Also, we were 20 minutes late because of busing and then we had to walk over to the business center to get our purchase information. We still had no problem getting our pictures done. So, I think that this isn't a HUGELY reserved event, and it might be possible to reschedule. It was also very windy. DDs both had really cute hair before we got there and five minutes outside before getting there, and the hair was  But, I think they look cute outside, even with messy hair. Also, I love the picture of DH and myself, but my hair is a little wacky from the wind and if you really look at the picture there is a wonderful lady in the background in her bathing suit. I'm sure she would be thrilled to know she is going on my mantle. Here they are:

But if I do the sitting and pay there I pay $125. What's the difference? What is the "enhancement" feature? Do you only get that with one of the options? Can someone please clue me in. Thanks.

Ok, my take on it is:
Either
1. Go to GF and buy the CD there, $124.00, and exchange the CD before you leave for one with ALL your photopass CD pics on it. - Essentially you are buying the photo CD that you can't make any enhancements to (like add borders etc, ) that you can otherwise do online when you are buying your photopass CD to be shipped to you. You are forfitting the enhancements b/c you are getting the CD right then.

2. Buy the 49.99 Photopass Card with all your GF pics on it, and then you can choose to add it to your photopass CD if you come home and decide to buy one . (this option doesn't make much sense to me.. seems like you are spending alot of extra $$.. Can someone explain?)

3. Pre-purchace the photopass CD before you go - and bring PROOF of prepurchase with you to the GF shoot. And then it will be $25 "sitting fee". And that's it. And then you get your $99 CD -- which basically equals the $125 cd price - only here you are able to add enhancements when you get home to your pics before you buy the CD. :)

Again, this is how i read it.

I am not totally impressed. In both lobby shots posted, someone has a chandelier growing out of their head. Seems like the photographers are told put someone here and they don't look at the full 'picture'. The ones in front of the hotel are not straight, look at the hedges, they are leaning in the photos. The photographer needs a tripod, or pay attention to the background. Several photos could benefit from some fill flash.

For $50, I would expect a little more thoroughness to the shoot, not just the 'point & shoot' that the photo pass people do in the parks.

I prepurchased the photopass CD and found the discount link through Mousesavers. It cost $99 to prepurchase it. Before I left home I went called the number for making reservations. 407-824-1700. They were pretty open with times. I set up my time. What they didn't tell me was to bring proof that I already paid for the CD. So take that along.

When you arrive at the Grand Floridian, go to the second level (or stay there if you arrive by monorail). The photopass booth is right inside the doors by the monorail. Check in, and they assign you a photographer. They will walk you all over the resort, and we specifically asked for the hammock picture, which she was not going to do, but very willingly did so.

She had me pay when we were done, which I think she completely forgot about and we could have not paid. Because I prepaid we just paid $25. She actually took our other photopass card and combined it so that they were all on one card. As soon as she handed me the card, I took a picture of the back of it so I had the code in case I forgot it. For the rest of our vacation, we used that one card.

When I got home, I went to disneyphotopass.com and viewed my pictures. I just put in that code and there they all were. I added the Where Dreams Come True to them and the year on some. When you prepurchase the CD they don't send you the CD before you go. They give you a code. So, I had a code to enter at the checkout, which deducted the price of the CD and the shipping costs. A week after I made my enhancements to pictures and deleted horrid ones, I received my CD. From that CD I can order prints.

Hope this helps!

We only paid $25, because we prepurchased the CD. I do not like the chandeleier picture either. I'm sure they are just trying to capture the look of the resort, but it just doesn't look very nice. However, for $25 we have some nice, RELAXING photos taken in a place that we love. While we didn't stay at the Grand Floridian and probably never will, we are in Disney World, and it's perfect for our family. For $25 we have some nice pictures that we can display. We are much in need of having pictures taken for our family, and this got the job done. The photographer was very good, and while I'm sure there are more professional and more talented it wasn't like hanidng our camera to a guest and asking them to take a few family pictures. She worked with DD, who like I said, was not being very cooperative.

Madi100

I'm so glad someone said this, I was worried it was only me. I think the photos everyone posted are wonderful souveniors of their vacation, but they are NOT what I would call "professional photographer" quality. And the poses are not very inspired given the gorgeous location they have to work with. I'm slightly encouraged that several people have said they got to suggest poses/props and the photographer was willing to take those photos as well....but I'm not looking forward to having to scout the location for the photos ops I would prefer and then what...do I hand her a list, or try to make casual requests as we walk past lovely places to head for the tree hugging?

I'll probably still do this, because my girls will be all dolled up from BBB and we're having Tea at GF.....so if I can get an appt that fits in between those two events. And, I've already planned to do the photopass CD for the parks, we'll be there for a month, so heaven knows we'll fill several, lol. But...I would have to say if this was the sole reason you were paying $100 for the CD plus $25 extra for the GF shoot, it's not a good deal. I wonder how the photographer will feel if I whip out my own camera to get some pictures that are better lined up and without tree huggings and chanderlier heads?

Please...everyone that was kind enough to upload their photos, please don't take this as a flame of your photos....it most definitely is not. They are lovely photos, all of them, but they aren't what one should be expecting if they're hiring a photographer to take professional photos And if you're paying $125 you most definitely should be getting professional....I have my daughter's photos taken profesionally every year both indoors and in a park setting. And I also have their photos taken at JCPenny or Sears a couple other times a year.....and the difference is easy to spot. The JCP and Sears photos are what I'd compared these GF photos. It's Disney and the Photopass folks that I'm criticizing, not you or your family. Hopefully this program will evolve and what we're seeing is simply poorly trained, inexperienced photographers that with time will get better. New program going through growing pains.

You can have pictures taken at Magic Kingdom, at least I've heard talk of that. From the pricing I've seen, it's outrageously expensive. There are some flaws. We have a couple really good ones, and that is usually what we end up with when we pay to go to a photographer. You aren't paying $125 for the GF session, EVER. The most you pay is $50. Yes, we paid a total of $125, but that included all of the other photos that were taken at WDW for our trip. The GF was $25 for us, and it was worth that. If I'd paid much more, I agree, probably not worth that. It was 30 minutes out of our day, and it was great. If you want the perfect pictures, pay the extra and have a photo session at the Magic Kingdom that is really expensive.

I couldn't agree with this more-we went into it knowing it was a Photopass photog taking the pictures, not a "real" professional. :) Also, the session was free for us since we booked it prior to them charging for the session.

We didn't love all of them-some were too dark, some were just too plain. But like a previous poster said, anywhere we go to get pics done we aren't going to love ALL of them.

Oh and no offense taken by those that don't think the quality is good enough-I know our pictures (and the others posted) are great. lol

I am very happy with how our pictures turned out. I, too, went into the session knowing that it was not going to look like a $500 portrait session with a professional photographer, so I appreciate the shots for what they are....fun shapshots taken with a better camera than mine in a beautiful setting.

This is my favorite shot, because it was spontaneous...DS couldn't resist writing his name in the sand...

I think the pics are great. We were there from the 6-13 of October and we did buy the CD of all our pics. We decided before we left that we were not going to take the time out to do the pics at the Grand Floridian. I really wish we had now that I'm seeing more pics. We will definately have to do this next time.

I agree, as long as you know you are going into this with an amature photographer you will be ok. THese are NOT professional photographers, so just take it for what it is meant to be - a fun shoot.
I think though, it is important to note that the only way you "only" pay $25 for the shoot, is by PRE ordering the $99 CD -- if you choose not to get the CD - those pics are going to run you some serious $$..
So, if you go into it with the notion that it will be a great add on to your CD, then i think that is the way to think of it. ;)
If you are going into it, soley with the desire for a professional photo shoot, then i think you will be left disappointed..
I agree with a couple of the PP's - the photos are beautiful, but the "professionalism" isn't there - the composition, and attention to detail isn't there - but as i said, if you go into knowing this - i think it can be a GREAT add on to your photopass CD, and better yet, it will actually get YOU in some pics and away from behind the camera (where i know i always am!LOL)

OK, I'm now confused: When you order your CD, is it mailed to you after your trip? Do you get it there when you pay for it? Do you only get to "enhance" if you pre-order???

I'm planning to do this in March, I'm trying to figure all this out.

Caitsmama

Yes, you can only "enhance" if you preorder and then it is shipped to you later..
If you go to the GF and get the CD right then, then you can't "enhance" anything, as you have the CD right then. So, you are trading "immediate" for "later enhances" i guess.. You just have to decide - can you wait for it or do you "gotta have it now"?! LOL ;)

Go to mousesavers.com and find the discount link. Pre-order the CD. They will not send you the CD. They will give you a code in an email (not sure if you get it on the receipt or not). When you return from your trip with your photopass card (s), go to disneyphotopass.com and view your pictures. Make enhancements, crop, etc. When you add a border to a picture and then save it, it saves the one without the border, too. So, if you have 100 pictures that are taken and you add enhancements to all of them, you end up with 200 pictures. Checkout and there is a spot to add the code that you received when you pre-ordered. About a week later you will receive the actual CD and be able to print the pictures out from there.

They will - they send as many as it takes to get them all. I had two last time.

How lax are they if you want certain pictures done in certain areas of the GF?

I am thinking of doing this as we got married there last year but our engagement pictures didn't turn out like I had hoped to our hired photographer getting there late and it getting dark outside. I reallly would like pictures on the beach with the wedding Pavilion in the background and also the castle in the background.

Ok, so did we establish, that if you PRE order the CD - the photo shoot is $25. ; and if you buy it right at the GF, it is just $125?

No, if you proof that you have already prepurchased the CD, then it is $25. Or you can pay $50 and get just your Grand Floridian pictures on a photo pass card. It doesn't give you rights to any of the pictures. You will have to purchase prints from Disney Photo Pass. The other option is to pay $125 at the time of the session and get a photo pass CD with all of your Grand Floridian pictures on it. You can also exchange that CD later in your trip to have all of your trip pictures put on it from around the parks. But you won't be able to put borders on them. Three options:

1. Pre-purchase the CD for $99 and then pay an additional $25 at the time of your session.

2. Pay $50 for the session with your photos on a photopass card.

3. Pay $125 at the time of the session and get all of your photos on a CD which can later have all of your pictures added to it.

I think option one is the best unless you don't care about making enhancements or putting borders on your pictures. #2 just doesn't make sense to me at all, since you will be wanting to buy prints and prints from Disney are expensive.

I had my GF photo shoot done on 9/28/07. I had pre-purchased the CD and brought my receipt with me. I didn't have to pay anything for the photo shoot. We ended up with 47 pics. I think it took about 20 minutes. The photographer was great. She didn't ask us if we wanted any certain pictures though. She was pretty much in control and told us where to go. She didn't do the chandelier photos or the photos on the beach with the people walking away from the camera that people have posted on this thread. I am kind of disappointed about the beach pictures, because the ones people posted are really nice. I enjoyed the session and definetly will do it again when it is offered at other hotels. After we left, my husband was wondering if we were supposed to tip the photographer since it was a private session. Does anyone have an opinion on this?

Here are some of my photos:

Right.. that's what i said. ;)
I was just confused on the #2 option. Not sure why you would want to do that one -- seems like #1 or #3 are the best. I am such a "want it now" kinda person, but the borders would be cool to do to.. decisions... :rotfl:

Gotcha. :thumbsup2 I hear ya about #2, it doesn't make sense, b/c if you pay the 49.99 or whatever for the photopass card at the GF, and you don't buy the CD, then later if you want pics, it's gonna kill you $$ wise.. I am just trying to decide if i want to spend the $ and get a CD at all - we are cruising DCL in Dec. and i know i will be dropping serious $$ for those pics...

We are going as a grand gathering where it will be my family plus 3 other "sets" of my inlaws....I am preordering the $99 special and I want to do just my family (4 of us) at the GF photo shoot....now SIL would also like to have her family and then a third session with the entire 16 of us????
Can we just show our shared receipt of prepaid photo cd for each session or do they really look at that...anyone have this experience yet??

PS...I know that worst case scenario I can get my session for $25 and the other 2 sessions would each be $50 but I was hoping that we could each get it for $25?? So greedy, I know, now pass that popcorn! popcorn::

Thanks in advance for any help!

I love everyones pictures, we had this done b4 the fee went into affect. I wish that I know how to upload my photos, we did get a lot (would have had more but BOTH of my children weren't feeling good-we had to get a car that day & go to a clinic-bronchitas) I love everyones pictures-the hammock looks great, we couldn't go there b/c they were filming a dvd for Disney. The pictures on the beach we got, but not of us turning around. I love the ones on the grass (we went @ 8:30am so the grass was a little wet) Next time when we go down if we have to pay for it (even if we don't) I will definitely "ask" for certain shots. The palm tree, the grass, on the other side of the fountain (she put us REAL close to the fountain) I would love to see pics from xmas time -w/all the decorations from there. P.S. My DS was the worst (sick) for this picture shoot-I think that put a screw into too!! But I so think that if you have the time you should do this!! I love the ones from ours! ****We were told to take our prepurchase proof w/us***

We had our photo shoot there a few days ago. Unfortunately it was sunny outside so in most of our photos at least one child had a squinty face. My oldest had a very hard time with the brightness, even when she put us in the shade, which made it hard. But we did get some good photos out of it. There may even be one or two "great" ones in there somewhere.

I'll post some examples when I get my Photopass CD.

Wendy, your photos look the best of any I've seen posted.

I know that everyone is happy with their pictures. But I do wish that Disney would step this up and pay a real pro to take these pictures. I think these sessions could be amazing if they'd use photographers who really know their stuff. The pictures have such potential to be gorgeous and awesome if they were taken by someone who really knows his/her stuff.

(Of course, maybe it's just that my dream job would be as a portrait photographer for Disney.) :)

The worst pain I think I've ever been in is trying to open my eyes on that sandy beach. It was horrible. If I could open them, I had tears. It was just awful, but funny.
