I hate wearing hats. My head gets claustrophobic!! DH nags me when it's particularly sunny and I will begrudgingly wear a baseball cap. He bought me one from MK with Donald saying "I'm not mad at you I'm just naturally crabby" That pretty much summed up the look on my face being made to wear a hat.

We have several hats for our upcoming trip. Most of our trip days have a theme, so we will grab that hat that works best for each day. Maggie

If it's a really hot day I can't stand to wear a baseball hat because my head feels like it's roasting, so I wear a visor instead. Cooler days I might wear a baseball cap.

If it's a rainy day I wear a hat....baseball cap. The first one I got last time was cute but just didn't fit my head right or something. It looked too square or something. LOL! The 2nd one I found fit just right and I love that cap! I'm bringing it with me next time too.
Also, being as though I have very curly hair and I flat iron it, I just automatically wear a cap to Animal Kingdom whether it's raining or not. That park is VERY humid.

I just got back from the World about 3weeks ago and I had thought to make a thread about this but when I saw this, decided this was the right place!
I had this gorgous white hat with a brim all the way around it. I had turned up the front brim and put a Tink pin on it. We went to Epcot, and it was HOT!!! I guess we had been there about 3 hours and were in WS. I started to feel light-headed and sick to my stomach. I was sweating (not prespiring! I was soaked!!). I made it inside the store in Japan and collapsed on the cold floor! When I came to, there were alot of people, including my DDIL who had been in another part of the park. My DGD had taken my cell and called her. Robin is a Paramedic Instructor in Charlotte NC. Anyway, the people and CMs were wonderful. They got water and cold towels till I came to. Robin took my hat and said that I could not wear it anymore because there was no way that air could get in. The hat was made of a type of canvas that had no airholes! The heat was beating down on my head and the heat just continued to build up, causing me to pass out.
The morale of this story is to make sure the hat you wear can breathe.
While the hat was cute, it could have become very dangerous! For the rest of the trip, I wore a ball cap.

I HAVE to wear a cap because my eyes are very sensitive to the sunlight. But I also suffer from migraines and can't stand ANYTHING tight on my head so I wear a visor and the only ones that don't give me a headache are the ones with the rope cord. So I wear the styrofoam or fabric ones with the rope or elastic cords. I used to wear baseball caps and I CAN wear those if they are losse but they give me hat hair LOL. You can kind of see my visor in my siggy pic.

I have a blue Mickey hat I bought, but it's a tadddd small. I think I'll look for a slightly bigger, more comfier one when I get to Disney.
It's a trucker/baseball hat. Whatever you like to call them. :)

Yes....those "trucker" type hats are the one's I hate! That must be the kind of cap the first one I bought was. I didn't try it on I just bought it and then put it on while leaving the store. Then I kept noticing people staring at me throughout the park. DH told me I was being paranoid. Finally I couldn't take it anymore so when I saw a bathroom I went in to look in the mirror to find out what everyone was staring at. That stupid hat was WAY too tall for my head. It was poking up and was square looking and I looked like an idiot!:rotfl2: I immediately went to another store and shopped for another hat. The next one was shaped more like you would get for baseball. You know....NORMAL!

I wear a baseball cap when it's very hot to cover my sweaty hair. If it's cool no hat, maybe just a pony tail.

Another "visor" wearer here for those real hot, sunny days. Too hot for anything else for my head!:lmao: I have one I got a few years back that's tie dye with Rock n Roll Rollercoaster on it I got at MGM. DD wears her Minnie visor as you can see in the picture below.
During the cooler months we skip the visors.;)

I'm taking my pink Packers baseball style cap, but I don't know how much I'll where it - I'm not really a hat person.
I'm taking two styles of hats for DD. A baseball one (same as mine) and an Ariel hate with a brim that's made of terry cloth.

No hat--they give me horrible headaches and I look goofy (not Goofy! :) ) in them.
I do wear plenty of sunscreen, though, and I never go anytime between May 15th through September 15th.

Ah wait...I've already answered none...but I'm wrong.
I have a Mickey ears Santa hat and a Sorcerer Mickey hat that I have worn in the past. The santa hat is coming with us in December this year!
I always wear a baseball hat. I have had sun damage (luckily no skin cancer) and my dermatologist says I have to cover my face and head. I have fair skin and have had sunburn on my scalp before - not fun. My mom prefers a visor. The one she likes doesn't have band that goes around your head just "arms" that go part way around - kind of like a sideways hairband.

I must wear a hat if it's sunny. I've always had a problem with sun and now I take meds that make me hyper-sensitive. I look terrible in a baseball cap, but my favorite is a straw cowboy hat with a string under my chin in case it's windy. It has some open weave to stay relatively cool but keeps the sun out of my eyes and off the top of my head. I let it hang behind my back when I'm in the shade. I have a gift for leaving it in a restaurant or bench, so I rarely get more than one trip out of one. Buying them at WDW got too expensive, so now I grab them at discount stores whenever I see one for $12 or less.

I've never been a hat person either, but on our last trip to WDW I bought a Disney cap, the one that says American Tradition with Mickey Mouse colored in with the American flag colors. I loved wearing the hat on the trip! It's amazing how much cooler I felt with the sun not shinning on my neck and face. :) I'll wear it again when we go to WDW next month.

I have a visor that says "Princess" in rhinestones that my son picked out for me three years ago in Epcot. The visor works great for me because I have curly hair that is uncontrollably frizzy in the humidity.:scared: At least the visor keeps my hair out of my face, it lifts the hair a bit off my neck (cool), and keeps the sun out of my eyes. I also have a Tink baseball cap but it makes my head hot so... its a visor for me.

Hats and regular visors all give me headaches, too. Several years ago I discovered the "no headache" visor, which I think you can find on line. They are perfect for me. I've worn these for many trips to WDW...love them.

Ditto.
The only hat that I'll wear (when I'm desperate) is a visor. I like Target's velcro ones. Inexpensive and neutral colors (seasonal).

I have 2 baseball caps - a tan one with a collie embroidered ont he front (I am a collie-mommy, after all) and a white one. Disney is one of the few places I wear hats at all.
I also have a cool Tilley hat, but I use that one around Annapolis and it doesn't really go with my Disney clothes, so it stays home.

Actually, I loathe hats. Makes my head itch and sweat more. However, I did break down and get a Tinkerbell ball cap that I now wear when I absolutely have to have something to keep the sun or rain out of my eyes. My DH says it really says it all. "Mood subject to change without notice." ;)

I have a cute straw cowboy hat that I got at WDW (little Mickey on the band) and I also wear solid colored cotton baseball caps.
I always wear hats at the theme parks-- thet extra sun protection is essential!

The first time I went to WDW was in May, so I wore my tan colour bucket hat. It was not too bad on absorbing heat and it covers my neck and my ears (baseball caps and visors don't cover those areas).
Last January DH and I bought matching sorceror Mickey hats :smickey: :smickey: . It was kind of fun with CM and guests alike commenting on the "Sorceror Mickey's".
As for my upcoming trip, I will bring both! :) I will switch to the bucket hat if it gets too warm.

I like the cool-dry baseball caps by Nike. They are ventilated and made of a material that wicks away the moisture. They also have a whole in the back for my ponytail - which is essential! I've got one in black and one in white, so they go with everything. :flower3:

I used to always wear a mickey baseball cap that I hated when I had to take it off. The last time I went I bought myself a Mickey visor and I love it. It velcrose (spelling?) around my head so when I have to take it off and on I don't mess up my ponytail.

A lime green one.
Seriously. I have a lime green baseball cap and a lime green bucket hat. And I do wear them when at Disney!
I don't like having "hat hair" so I wear my Mickey visor. A hat is a MUST for me in the sun as well as spf 45 suncreen. :cutie:

I cannot have hat-head/hair! I wear a nike visor (with the open top of the head)...I get the ones that velcro in the back so I can adjust if my head is uncomfortable...because I normally NEVER wear hats!!

I'm quite a fan of sunglasses during the very hot months, as I can't stand being all sweaty and gross from a hat. If it's cooler I usually wear a Phillies hat (or sometimes Mets! - no, I'm not a traitor!) or some Mickey Ears. This January I'll be bringing down my Phillies NL East Division Champions hat , my Mets hat, and a green cargo-type Phillies hat that was a free giveaway. I'll also be buying some new pairs of Mickey Ears, especially since I'm going with people who've never been there before!!

I have a variety of wide-brimmed hats, mostly made of natural fibers like straw. They keep the sun off my head and face but allow crculation.

My wife found this old ugly looking straw hat that she wears to Disney. It has a wide rim to keep the sun off her ears and neck. We take pictures in the parking lot so we remeber where we park. I found this pick of DW and DS

I normally wear a baseball cap (either Red Sox or a WDW cap). But I am thinking about getting a Tilley hat so that I will have a brim around all sides.
Of course for my December trips, it has to be a santa hat with ears!

I AM EXACTLY THE SAME WAY! MIGRAINE CITY BY THE AFTERNOON OF A HAT WEARING DAY! MY EYES ARE ALSO SENSITIVE TO SUNLIGHT WHICH IS WHY I TRY TO WEAR ONE ALONG WITH SUNGLASSES. I DON'T LIKE VISORS BECAUSE THEY ARE USUALLY TOO TIGHT ALSO, I WILL TRY THE ELASTIC CORDED ONES BUT WHERE DO YOU FIND THOSE?
