Photo Swap CANCELED

Okay, I am making the call to cancel this as a "swap". YodasMom has given me the info for the shutterfly account. If you need it, just PM and I'll send it on to you. I will go make a new album on the account to say "photo swap" and everyone can upload ALL the photos they have posted here to it.


With the new "do you have a photo of" thread, I'm not sure there is still a need for this swap. I will however, leave this open for a while to see.

This swap is for you to make X number of copies on your photo. You will then get back X number of different photos including your own. You sign up saying which photo you will make a copy of so that the others will know if they need or want that photo.
You may order your photos on line and have them shipped directly to me. I will then place said photos in their plastic baggies. I will need you to mail me your return postage.
Return postage can be the same amount as required by you to send to me, plus one more first class stamp (to be returned if not needed) or $4.60 for Priority postage (stamps or cash) to return your items. Delivery Confirmation is $0.65.

Ask any questions, as I'm not sure if my instructions are clear or mud.

I thought of the same thing today, but the thing is I liked this swap was sometimes you don't even know you want a photo until you see it. I got some amazing pics last year of things I never would have thought to take and therefore not put in a layout. I'm using them, though.

Now that my DH takes everything digital, the internet services work best for us. But even then, I myself, would probably feel more confident if I developed them here to make sure they turned out okay, before mailing them on to someone else.

I have some nice ones of the Wilderness Lodge lobby and inner courtyard pool shots. But I have no recent ones. All mine are from 2006.

Mine are all digital from the last few years, too. Before that, they were 35mm. It's cheaper for me to develop locally just due to the shipping for a small number of photos.

What's the time frame on this one? How many photos will we printing or is determined on how many "play"? I tend to take pictures of architectural details, flowers, animals and of course characters. I would really like some Winnie the Pooh & friends pictures though I didn't request that on the photo thread.

I'm not sure about doing this yet, just wanted to find out some details. :)

Kat, I have a lot of photos of characters in holiday costumes!! They are probably the coolest character shots I have! The fab 5 and others. I have a lot of Maleficent on parade floats, some good ones too. I'm not sure if I have any of her just out doing autographs. I know I have the evil queen out and about.

I've probably got Stitch just because I have so many swap elements with him on them....(not my fav. character, sorry!!).

I've got Pocahontas, too. I may have Mulan......

I can also watch out for the others when I'm at WDW in a couple of weeks. I've got pics of all of them on parade floats or in their shows.

I would love any landmarks from DL. I was there a long time ago when I was 16, and we didn't take many pics........And, if we did, I don't know if my mother even still has them. I'd love the castle, any historical landmark signs with dedications, outside shots of HM, Small World, RR, Jungle Cruise, Pirates, the other original classic rides (attraction fronts).

The time frame would be 3 weeks from end of sign ups. Since everyone already has their photo and it just a matter of printing and posting, it shouldn't take very long.

The number of copies will be dependent upon the number of players.

It might be fun (though I understand AWM if you say no because it would be more work) :goodvibes if we could do two lists -- one for WDW and one for DLR?!?! I have some terrific pics from DLR that I would be happy to share, and I always have WDW. I can always use more of both, too!

I won't make requests because I wouldn't request something I got a shot of but I would love to receive a shot (by accident of course) that was even BETTER! I would be thrilled to ignore my own shot. I got good pics of the MK parade a couple of weeks ago, but I'm sure (b/c I saw PigletsPal's pics) that there are others who got MUCH better shots.

Yikes!! I don't know if I can do this if it's due in 3 weeks. I'm going to still be at WDW in 3 weeks and I'm swamped until then. I might need to trade individually or do this some other time. I don't think I have enough time to search for all of them now. If it were just several copies of one photo like we've done before, I could do it. But, if it's individual requests, it would take me longer and I have a couple of more swaps, a book that needs to get done this weekend, and several new work referrals, etc.

I'm still not sure how we're doing this. Is it filling individual requests or just sending copies of one photo to everyone?

The Swap calendar has the due date of October 12th. So it's four weeks from today, and that is about 3 weeks after sign ups.
I am okay with making that a mail by date.

I would be willing to two lists, if there was enough interest in a DLR only.

Oh, if it's just one or two photos and copies of those, that won't be a time problem. How do we decide what to send? I want to send something that people want. I'm not wanting character pics, but I have a lot of good ones to share. I like historical things having to do with Walt and the parks, etc, though I've probably got most of what I need at WDW in that respect.

I'd like to do something like this. I have tons of pics of DL and WDW. I tend to do a lot of architectural stuff as well.

THAT is the hard part. Deciding what ONE photo you have that the most people can use.

Chances are very high that the larger the number playing, the more photos you will get that you might not use.

Having only been to WDW one time, I have very limited photos with no family member in it to use.

Last time I sent the photo from the jungle cruise with the safari members up the tree/pole with the rhino under them and called it "get the point". tiggermei already has that one so I have to come up with something else. So far I have found 1)backside of cindy's castle, MK 2)front of T-Rex skeleton, AK and 3)Green Power Ranger {all alone}, MGM; along with the WL photos.

Oh Shauna: I absolutely LOVE your photos. I could use all of those!!! I'd love to do a layout with Halloween around the World, Castles around the World, HM Around the World, and then some with the historical landmarks around the World which would include other Disney parks, other than just WDW.

AWM: I don't think I have any of T-Rex at AK. I don't usually get to that area much since a lot of the play areas are for young kids...so I miss it a lot. I've stayed at Wilderness Lodge a lot and have a lot of pics, but ya know.....someone else's view is always different and I'm sure I would use good ones of that. It, along with AKL, are my favorite resorts. I was in the last photo swap, so I have your (very good) photo from Jungle Cruise.

Most of my pics are without people posing, so that's not an issue for me. Any more requests of themes from WDW that other people might like? I've got all the festivals. Halloween, Christmas, Food and Wine, Flower and Garden, almost all the resorts, and stuff from all the parks.

Shauna - you have just solved a mystery for me! I have a childhood photo of me in front of those Snow White statues/figurines and I wondered why I never saw them in WDW. It was DL! Now I can properly date that photo! Thanks!!:thumbsup2

Would there be interest in setting up another shutterfly/photobucket type shared album where we all knew the password, like we used to have but got emptied somehow? That way people could borrow whatever photos they need. I know I have tons of non-people shots.

It's not a secret address because I got it from the Scrapping Board here and from the photography forum, but I can PM it to you all. I just checked. It's still up, but like I said it doesn't have all the albums it used to. There are maybe 15 or more with a small number of pics in each.

I have created the new album "PHOTO SWAP" and uploaded 15 of my photos to it. I did the "share album" with myself and it worked great.

So post here when you have your photos uploaded and we can go pick and choose and send them to ourselves to order.

I have the majority of my photos on CD's because it would take up too much space on my hard drive to have them all on my computer. So, it's just getting the time to go through them. I take 800 to 1000 photos with each trip and there have been a lot of trips!!

I started putting in some of my photos - I have literally hundreds. Luckily, all the Disney ones are on Shutterfly, so it's just a matter of moving them over and sorting them into the appropriate folders - no uploading. Hopefully they'll be helpful to someone!

NEE: I'm so pleased that picture helped you! Snow White's Wishing Well and Grotto is my absolute favorite place in all of Disneyland. I have a cute pic of DH and I standing in front of the grotto with the well in the shot as well but y'all probably can't use that.
