Hi - I've purchased a Pentax K100D recently, and am learning,reading, and shooting. It's a blast.

I'm going to Disney, and I understand my kit lens 18-55, and the zoom 50-200won't suffice to take decent SpectroMagic photos. I know I'm learning, so my shots wouldn't be great anyhow, but can you advise please in your opinion what would be the:

1.) best basic lowlight lens to buy to take spectromagic shots
2.) best place to order it from
3.) presume it's needed, so best lightweight tripod

Thanks,
Sheila

FA 50mm f/1.4 from Buydig, Beach Camera, B&H, or Adorama. Go with the best deal of those places. It should be around $180-190. There is a $25 rebate until the end of the month.

Like Kevin said. The 50mm F1.4 is a stellar lens.

The 31mm F1.8 might be even better, but at a much higher price point ($720 after rebate)!

You don't need a tripod for SpectroMagic, as it moves fast enough that you need a handheld-friendly shutter speed.
