Just got back from a quick three night WDW trip. It was fun, and it was HOT! Very few lines, FastPass was not necessary.

When it storms, you take stormy evening photos. ;)

Welcome back. I was there three weeks ago and it was hot and crowded! We only got back about 36 hours before school started, so the crowds were something we just had to deal with.
I just finished my RAW processing last night b/c I have had so many other things to do with work and the three DD's school. I plan on loading everything to the net tomorrow or over the weekend, so I should have some shots to share soon as well.

Just to the right (as you are looking at it) the lighthouse - was that just a cloud formation - or something more serious? My eye immediately went to that but it is hard for me to tell with the resort in the way.

You won't get any sympathy from me! :teeth: It got up to 109' the day we headed for Anaheim last week, and it was somewhere around 97' our first full day. It even got humid, which is pretty unusual for that area.
Hope you enjoyed your trip - these low-crowd times are great! If only the parks stayed open a little later...

If you are looking at the lighter area, then I would guess that it is the smoke from some sort of restaurant. If you are talking about the darker area, I can tell you from living down here, that it is your average afternoon/evening shower.

I looked at some of the other images taken at that time and they all have the same artifact. I agree with UKCATFAN that it appears to be smoke from a restaurant. We stayed at Beach Club that night and nothing seemed out of order so it must have been ok.

I can definately see then rain bands - so that is not what I am talking about - it must be smoke/steam from a restaurant. I didn't think it was anything more serious - didn't see a lowering or anything like that - but then again it is kinda hard to tell from a photo sometimes.
I have been to way too many storm spotting classes. :sad2:

Here are some difficult ones. The boats were backed up but good, and stopped at the end of the ride. I used my IS lens to good effect and got some fairly sharp photos of Captain Jack and the famous "dog scene".

Nice job on the Cap't shot! It definitely helps to have the boats stopped, I didn't get that luxury on any of my PotC rides at DL. :( And nice to see that you were able to get a good white balance, his face always looks a bit too plastic in the shots I got. What were the vital stats on that shot?

1/13 @ f4, ISO 3200, exp comp -2/3, NeatImage noise reduction and some background dodging. But to me, the audio-animatronic doesn't look a lot like Captain Jack Sparrow! :(

Not the most creative photograph but it's always fun to see fireworks from the deck at California Grill.

that is a supberb photo - I think it's very neat to see where the fireworks originate from. When we were there 2 years ago, we were back in Fantasy Land, right after Wishes, and there was water dripping off the roofs, I recall looking at my dh and asking "did I miss a rain shower?" The water was from where they had hosed down the roofs due to the fireworks!!:goodvibes Let me tell you, there was A LOT of water running down those spouts!! :)
