Inexpensive Hotel near Legoland

Can anyone recommend an economy hotel near Legoland? Dh is insisting I get this trip down to the bare bones.

How much do you want to spend? We have stayed at the Holiday Inn for about $120 per night and it was nice. It is located just down the hill from Legoland and across the street from the Outlets.

A slight hijack.....what city is Legoland (& that Holiday Inn) located in?

I wonder if the HI has an entertainment rate?

Legoland is located in Carlsbad, just south of Oceanside. It's about 30 miles or so north of San Diego.
