:figment: =does not meet expectations
:figment: :figment: = just ok, maybe had some problems
:figment: :figment: :figment: =meets expectations
:figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: = exceeded expectations

I will try to rate all restaurants in the same area such as: service, atmosphere, wait time, and rate each individual dish

Will also include whether I will return and if I would recommend it

First up will be Nine Dragon

Nine Dragons is one of our favorites. We love this not so popular gem.

Wait time: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: We decided on our first day that Nine Dragons would be great for lunch, we just walked right up and were sat immediately

Atmosphere: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: We love that it is so quiet, and has great music to set the mood and enhance the atmosphere. The design is gorgeous as well.

Service: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: We also get great service hear, nothing that extraordinary, but good, quick, polite service

Now for the drinks:

Orange Blossom: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: I love fruity mixed beverages
http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00338.jpg

Tsingtao Beer: :figment: :figment: :figment: according to DH it is no different than American light beer

Thanks for reviewing this restaurant--we will be trying it for the first time on our upcoming trip. Do you happen to remember what the options were for dessert at lunch?

We had lunch at Nine Dragons in August - my son and I had the honey sesame chicken and it was DELICIOUS. My daughter had General Tsao's and that too was good. Nephew had chicken and broccoli and rest of party had stir fried veggies which didn't look too good and I think they were less than impressed. But I too would recommend Nine Dragons, and I've read some negative reviews about it. The decor is beautiful.

Need to give some backround on our experience. I was not feeling 100%, going from extreme heat from being outside, to being extremely cold once inside a building really made me kinda ill. Plus, I froze on a two hour plane ride, even had a couple of blankets and shivered the entire time. So, I really wasn't looking forward to eating, but tried it anyway. This was the first time for my DH and myself at the Crystal Palace.

Wait time to be seated: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: When we walked up to check in for our ADR there were tons of people waiting outside, so we figured we would be waiting as well. Our thing started buzzing after 2 minutes! They must have been taking a lot of walk ups

Character interaction: :figment: We only had our picture taken with Piglet the entire time we were there. Granted, the characters really focused on tables with kids, and kinda just bypassed us when they saw us. They also did this parade with kids, so if you have kids you might have a great experience.

Service: :figment: :figment: :figment: ok, nothing extraordinary

Food: :figment: :figment: :figment: overall wasn't bad, but wasn't awesome either, not a single dish stands out as being special

Food pics:
I do apologize, but I cannot identify any of the specifics on the plates, once again none of the food stood out as being special.

honestly don't remember, but looked at the menu on allearsnet.com and it lists the desserts as Ginger ice cream, ginger cake, or raspberry chocolate mousse cake. Those choices seem somewhat familiar.

This was our first, and not last, experience at Cape May. It wasn't very crowded, and the food was pretty good

Wait time: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: we checked in and were seated immediately. They also walked us through what was where on the buffet, very nice.

Character interaction: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: They were awesome, every time they came by they stopped at our table for quite awhile. Goofy even sat down next to my husband and aksed us some questions by writing on the paper on the table. So here are a few of our pics.

I have always spent my EPCOT worldshowcase days drinking the margaritas from Mexico. I never even turned my head towards another stand, gotta have my margarita. Well, I finally opened my eyes and discovered my new favorite world showcase drink, The Habibi Daquari from Morrocco stand. It is just a strawberry daquari with rum and a dash of orange blossom water. Even better news is that it is about $1.50 (estimate) cheaper than the margaritas!!

Actually he asked us where we are from. Then when he found out we were from Indiana, he asked us if we have ever been to holiday world, then he commented on liking the rollercoasters there. Definately a unique character interaction.

This was our second trip the restaurant and were looking forward to it. When we walked up we were shocked by how many walk ups or how far behind they were. It took us about 7 minutes to get up to the podium to check in:scared1:

Wait time to be seated: :figment: :figment: I know an ADR is not a guarantee of a time to be sat, I always expect to wait some, but we waited about 25 minutes and this was after the line of checking in

Atmosphere: :figment: :figment: :figment: love the idea and very beautiful, just too crowded. We were so close to the table next to us, we had some wonderful conversations. They were wondering why we were taking pictures of our food, so we had to explain to them about the disboards. then we asked them about their entrees. So, Chefs gets extra points for the ambiance, but loses some for being so cramped

Service: :figment: :figment: :figment: Honestly, I don't remember our server, so nothing special, but nothing bad, met expectations

Drink
Some type of beer: :figment: :figment: :figment: Really don't remember it either, so must not have been bad, or really good

On with the food

DH started with the cheese plate: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: He said it was a good variety and very flavorful

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00391.jpg

I had the French Onion Soup: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: I almost finished the whole bowl!!! I loved it!! The only thing holding it back from a score of 5 figments was that it was way too hot and I burnt my tongue.

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00390.jpg

DH had the shrimp and scallops: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: Said it was wonderful, but not worthy of 5 figments :confused3

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00395.jpg

I had the pork chop: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: So, I entered the restaurant thinking was going to get the chicken, but after talking to our very close neighbors sitting next to us and eyeing their food, I decided to try the pork chop. Actually the entrees that DH and I both ordered, were something that our neighbors were eating, kinda odd, maybe our tables were a little too close. Back to the review, I am so glad I ordered it! The flavor of the mushroom sauce was perfect for not only the porkchop but also the noodles!!

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00394.jpg

up next desserts....

KnJ
09-14-2007, 12:46 AM
last but not least the desserts:

DH had the chocolate tart for dessert: :figment: :figment: :figment: All he said was nothing special, but good

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00397.jpg

I had the creme brulee: :figment: :figment: Once again, it was nothing special, just ok actually, I have had tons better.

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00396.jpg

will we return: Definately!!!
will we recommend: Yes!!

How about some CS!!!!!

First up is Liberty Inn, which deserves some backround.

During all of our previous trips DH and I vowed never to eat at Liberty Inn because there are so many wonderful and unique CS locations at EPCOT, and thought that only those that should eat there are those with kids who are picky or those that are just picky in general. Well, one day I had the craving for chicken tenders and new that no other CS (even Sunshine Seasons) could satisfy that craving. So, I turned my eyes towards Liberty Inn. I became that person I never vowed I would be. But, my craving was fullfilled.

Chicken tenders: :figment: :figment: :figment: Honestly, nothing special, except for satisfying a craving, oh but did get a Mickey shaped crispy treat for dessert:cool1:

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00401.jpg

Return: Honestly, only if I am craving a burger or chicken tenders and I am in Epcot
recommend: only if you are craving a burger or chicken tenders and are in Epcot

I love Sunshine Seasons. So many choices.

I selected the rotisserie half chicken: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: I thought it was very good, better than I expected. For my sides I selected rice and rice (remember I am picky) there we other items someone can get such as carrots or mashed potatoes

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00385.jpg

For dessert I had the chocolate asian cake, honestly I cannot rate it because I did not like it. But I know others out there love it, it had a weird spice taste to it, but it still looks good

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00386.jpg

return: I will return, the variety is endless, and did I mention they sell smirnoff ice:cool1:

Teriyaki Chicken: :figment: :figment: honestly it was just too sweet even for my tastes.

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00420.jpg

return: maybe, i have had the sushi rolls before and they were also just ok. But I am almost sure it will be calling my name again in the future

recommend Honestly, don't expect too much, it is just ok, so don't be disappointed.

May as well do some more beverage pics.

First up:

Bass from UK walk up: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: according to DH the only beer from the worldshowcase that deserves 5 Figments is the Spaten Optimater from Germany, and the darker the better. He said it was good, but not as good as a Spaten

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00336.jpg

Then there is the Spaten: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: This is the beer that DH compares all other beers to. Notice the giant smile on his face

We were staying at the Beach Club and heard so many wonderful things about Beaches and Cream we thought we would try it out.

Wait Time: :figment: :figment: :figment: we had to wait about 5 minutes just for them to wipe part of the bar, what we expected

Atmoshpere: :figment: :figment: :figment: I did not realize how small this place is! It is tiny!! But, we love the soda shop theme

Service: :figment: :figment: it took forever for someone to come and ask us what we wanted to drink and eat, they dropped off the sundaes and then the bill, kinda disappointing. But, it seemed there were only two servers for the packed restaurant

Food:
We only did dessert. The sundaes are large enough for two people to share, but we wanted to try two different ones, we were unable to finish off either sundae, but they were wonderful

DH had the No Way Jose: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: It is chocolate and peanutbutter heaven.

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC01667.jpg

I had the fudge mud slide: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: I hate to say this, but it was almost too rich, but it was still very yummy.

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC01666.jpg

return: Yes definately!!!!
recommend: Yes, the sundaes were wonderful, if it is too busy to sit there is a walk up window, but these sundaes cannot be purchased there.

How about Le Cellier!!!!! It is one of our favorites, but we had a few odd experiences this time.

Wait time: :figment: :figment: :figment: we waited about 20 minutes to be seated, which is what we have read and expected. On the stand there was a dry erase board with the question of how many provinces and territories are there in Canada, and then can you name them. Then it said to check your answer with a CM. DH and I thought it would be fun to name them to pass the time. Well, we had our list ready and asked the CM at the desk, and she didn't even know how many provinces or territories there are, she did go ask someone to find out the answer. The weird part is that when she sat us, she explained that the restaurant is divided into different provinces and then told us which one we were sitting in and gave us a fun fact on it?!?:confused3

Service: :figment: :figment: :figment: she was ok, nothing special, but good

Atmosphere: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: It was actually somewhat quiet. We love the cellar idea and look, with the lights that look like melted candles.

Drinks

Torontotini: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: It was very yummy but almost too strong, I couldn't finish it

Bread: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: I love bread!!!!

Cheddar cheese soup: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: we both had it and loved it!!! It is a must for both of us each time

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00410.jpg

7oz Filet: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: We both had the filet as well, they were cooked to perfection ( mine was medium, DH was medium rare)

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00411.jpg

Chocolate Moose: :figment: :figment: :figment: I always order the chocolate moose, but I still miss when it was larger and it had the chocolate chip cookie underneath it, but I will still order it and think about how it used to be (hence only three figments)

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00413.jpg

Shortcake: :figment: :figment: :figment: DH never commented on it, so I am guessing it is just good so I will leave it at three until he tells me to change it. The server actually brought him the wrong dessert at first then went back and fixed it. She even had the order messed up at the table next to us, never had anytype of problem like that at WDW before

Both of the following beverages came from a stand outside of Chefs de France

First up:
Grand Marnier Orange Slush: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: First time I had this beverage, and it is wonderful!!!! The only problem is that they fill the glass too full so it tends to spill out. So, if you get one, take a big gulp to avoid spilling ;)

Had a situation that could have been bad, but Coral Reef took care of us:thumbsup2

We showed up 15 minutes early for what we thought was our ADR time. Well, they could not find us in the computer, so I pull out our confirmation number, then they found it, it was for one hour earlier than what we had:scared1: I had heard horror stories about people not getting in when this happens, but the gentleman at the desk was very apologetic (even though it was not his fault) and says that he will get us sat in 15-20 minutes. Well 25 minutes passes, so DH goes to the desk to find out how much longer, I can see they are talking for a bit and he comes back and does not say anything. About 5 more minutes passes, and we get to go to our table, and it is next to the aquarium:cool1: When my husband was talking to them to find out how much longer, they apologized again for the mix up and said they had a wonderful table almost ready for us!!!! I was very thankful about how accomadating they were and making the effort to get us a wonderful table!! Moral of the story is double check your ADR times!!!

Here is DH and the table:

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00426.jpg

now on to the ratings:

Wait time: will not rate due to above posting

Service: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: Of course due to the way were we treated with our seating definately helps out the score. Our server had a huge party plus us. He did as good as any server could fitting the needs of the giant party plus us.

atmosphere: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: How could someone not love the aquarium. However, just a tad bit noisy.

Drinks:

On with the food.

Last time we ate at the Coral Reef, I had the Crab Claw something and DH had the Lobster soup, we actually switched b/c I did not like the Crab claw stuff.

So this time
I had the Lobster soup: :figment: :figment: :figment: I was good, just not as good as I remember. Maybe because I did not trade for it:confused3

DH had the crab claw something: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: He liked them alot even this time around

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00432.jpg

I had the Mahi Mahi: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: I really do not like strong fishy tastes, well this was perfect

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00433.jpg

DH had the Ahi Tuna: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: he loved it!!

KnJ I need to know which you liked better the Citron slush or the Grand Marnier slush??? I'll probably get both but maybe not on the same day. I've heard they're really strong. Of course I wouldn't have it any other way! Great reviews all around - thanks!:thumbsup2

DH had the chocolate wave: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: It also exceed expectations, he loved it, but I might have loved it more than him.

oh no, tough call, I would got with the Citron Slush,

No wait the Grand Marnier

no, Grey Goose Citron Slush is my final answer, kinda has the flavor of lemonde.

Honestly, if you have the opportunity try both of them, they are worth it.

the bakery in Norway. We never realized that they had sandwiches, I was always blinded by the viking coffee;)

This place is a very good value for counter service on the dining plan. We got a salad, sandwich, and a dessert. It was also one of our lighter meals.

I had the turkey sandwich: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: Nothing special, but differnet, I liked having a lighter lunch, which gives it the extra figment.

I also had the no sugar added mousse: :figment: yucky, but I love desserts loaded with sugar, I rarely get items that are no sugar added, so it might be good to those who usually get them.

Oh the salad: :figment: :figment: just ok,

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC01663.jpg

DH had the ham sandwich: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: same comments as the other sandwich

School Bread: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: Oh, where has this been all my life?? It is wonderful!!! I don't like the idea of coconut, but this is fabulous!!!!

Oh salad same as before

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC01662.jpg

return: Definately, great lighter lunch, and the school bread is wonderful. Even though I did not have one this trip due to the heat, I will definately return to get a viking coffee:thumbsup2

recommend: Yes, a great lighter lunch, and if it a little chilly, go for the viking coffee, it will warm you up!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your reviews! I'm enjoying this thread so much. Great pictures and fabulous descriptions of your meals. THANK YOU so much for taking the time to post this.

That sandwich looks good, and I'd really like to try that schoolbread. Maybe you can clarify something for me -- I read on another review that instead of mayo they used butter on the sandwich, I just can't see this working. Is it butter or mayo? It looks good, but I just know picky DH would not go for it.

I believe it is butter. I cannot stand mayo and was a little terrified at first, but DH promised it was not mayo. Your DH should be ok to eat there.

Loving your REVIEWS! I'm really hungry right now too. THANKS! I'm going to ask a strange question maybe. Did the Cape May breakfast serve pancakes? Our DS9 is a pancake fan, not waffles or french toast. We're going back to WDW next February and I'm wanting to make an ADR for a character breakfast and am thinking about that one. We ate there years ago, probably 8 years in fact, and I can't remember exactly what they served so since you were just there I'll ask you any pancakes? We're from Indiana too. Two hours north though and we have a son at Ball State, which is not too far from Indy. We love Indy, its a great place to go, shop, and eat!!!!! Go Colts and Bears. haha And the CUBBIES too. Thanks,

Yeah Colts!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't recall pancakes, and I am not a breakfast fan, so I would have had some. However there is more than just Froot Loops for cereal, they also had Frosted Flakes and Cheerios. I know you did not ask about them, but gives somewhat of a larger variety:confused3

Where is Lowell? I could pull up a map, but that would be too easy. I was raised in Anderson so I know all about Ball State:thumbsup2

No coconut on the inside, just some cream like filling, that I could not get enough of. Actually, I could not even taste coconut flavor, maybe I was just mesmerized by the wonderfulness of the inside.

We were debating about eating at Cape May, but since we were staying at the Beach Club we made a reservation once we arrived, and we are glad we did.

Wait Time: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: they handed us the pager like thing, we sat down, and it went off immediately:thumbsup2

Service: :figment: :figment: :figment: did ok with beverage refills, but nothing special

Selection: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: For being a clam bake buffet there are plenty of choices for those picky eaters!!

Food: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: DH loved the clam bake!!!! I loved the desserts, the oreo bon bons are fabulous! Just stay away from the carving station. Whatever it was it was cold and too chewy.

next will be pictures

DH second plate, not really sure what it on it

recommend: Yes, one of the better buffets. Unique but good for all types of eaters

This is DH favorite counter service location. He actually ate there three times during our vacation.

With that information DH can only give Sommerfest: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment: :figment:

He had the braut and sausage but here is a pic of one of them, not sure which one, I really don't eat this type of food

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00421.jpg

Return: DH will definately
Recommend: Only if you like the sausage and saurkrat food, I won't eat there, but DH will eat there at every opportunity he gets

I ate here once in the past and just remember it being a good value, and it is a ton of food. However, I did not like it as much this time

I had the Meatball Platter: :figment: :figment: It was bland :thumbsup2 but i could still taste the meatballs about 10 hours later. At the moment the food was decent, but the taste in my mouth many hours later knocked it down a figment. On the other hand, the rice was pretty good.

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z73/knjcollectibles/DSC00469.jpg

return: Honestly no, and I am not a fan of the other foods they offer

recommend: I would not recommend the meatball platter, but maybe try the other foods if you like that type of food.
