View Full Version : CP'ers... what does/will your name tag say?

From the WDWCP website:
All names on company nametags shall be the Cast Members' full, legal, first or middle name, or a derivative of their name. Cast Members are permitted to have their hometown city and state or country engraved on the nametag. Participants in the College Program may choose to have the name of their college or university in place of their hometown on the nametag.
So, what will your name tag say? Mine will (hopefully) say:
Jeff
and either Webster, NY or Ithaca College ... which one do you think?

my roommate is down there for the CP and she decided to have hers say Pittsburgh, PA instead of the college and when she got her tag it said the college ne ways, all of the CPs had their colleges on it so maybe you don't get a choice afterall?
*if* i get it, I really don't care what mine says, all that matters is I'm there lol.

I had like 5, they messed up the nametags for our entire CP class lol.
I had Amy and my hometown. I'd much rather be associated with New York than my school in Boston, since I love New York much more, and know more about it.
I ran into so many people who somehow knew people I did or was connected to in some way because my town was on my nametag.

Mine had my school on it.

They default to the school (the first one you get will have your school), but you can pick up another with your hometown on it. You can even get one with just your name.
I had all 3 for no other reason than to get all 3. I think they were just $2 each for the additional ones.
I also had another that said "Delinda" that wardrobe gave me when I accidentally lost my first tag in my car.

I liked having my university name on mine. I got a lot of comments from current students or alumni, which was nice.

I had my school on mine and would have rather had my home town, but I was content to leave it. The second time I had only my name since HOCE name tags didn't have a place for school or hometown. Then I also had a "Crystal" and "Natalie" from our base.

I currently have 5 over 3 different programs. I have one from my first CP, in 2005. Back then they had Tink on it, and it listed the home town/school. Then I have mine from the HCOE. I actually have 2 from it. One has my name, then I have one with my middle name (I had forgotten mine, and this way I knew I would know if someone was calling me). Then I have 2 from the YOAMD.

my tag has my nickname on it because i was afraid i wouldn't respond to what my tag said. 'andrea' can be pronounced many different ways and if it's not how i say it, or a friend mis-pronouncing it, i won't answer. my school's also on it. i didn't ask for anything different. however, my roomie asked for her town and they put her school instead so...*shrugs shoulders* who knows what you can actually end up with.

If I were to do CP, I would get my college. Having a hometown of Oakland, CA isn't always the greatest thing...

My nametag was also messed up during my CP last fall. It had my name on it but it said I went to Vermont Law School. I had a lot of people come up to me asking me why I took a semester off of law school to come to Disney. Sometime I just played along and other times I actually told them I had never even been to Vermont and I was actually from Michigan.
I also use to get a lot of random names that I liked and would wear those randomly when I worked. I think I had a "Mike from Windemere", "Ed from Morocco", and "Eli from Texas".

Does Vermont Law School even exist?!? There were a couple of people on my CP who had it on their nametag, and none of them were from anywhere near Vermont...
My first one had my name and school, then I got another one with my hometown and switched them back and forth for variety (When I got tired of people asking about New York, I'd switch to the Florida one).

I heard from serveral people while on my CP that Vermont School doesn't exist. There were at least three of us at the All-Star that had it on our name tage though. I actually got a pic message the other day from one of my friends who sent me a license plate border that they found that actually did say "Vermont Law School Alumni". So.........

I just did the Cp this past spring and my nametag said University of MA-Amherst. It was actually kind of annoying because people would be like what does MA stand for? Like seriously. Most of the time I forgot my name tag so I would wear whatever was lying around or got one from Costume. And I always left and extra one in my locker so I was never Julie lol unless I was having a good day and remembered it. My friends and I use to switch name tags at work all the time too so I've been Josh and Jorge lol. It really isnt a big deal as long as you always have a nametag. Sometimes I would make up a backstory to go with my name tag so when people are like you're from so and so I can be like yah...
Im going back in 2009 and I just want my hometown on it not my college. But ill bring my old nametag with me as a backup

I have four name tags sitting on my dresser right now, so here's what they say....
1) Elijah
Univ of WI Whitewater
2) Elijah
3) Elijah
Madison, WI
4) Elijah
SUNY Dehli (this was my first YOAMD name tag with the wrong school on it...only took Disney 5 weeks to get it right!)

Yeah, overall I have about 5 nametags. They are:
1) Name/School with Tinkerbell on it (2005)
2) Name- HCOE
3) Middle Name from HCOE (forgot mine, so I picked this one at costuming and got to keep it)
4+5) Same- Name/School from YOAMD
Oh yeah, I almost forgot- it took forever to get my first YOAMD nametag. Everyone else got theirs before we did.

Go Kilgore! My DD interned with the Shakespeare Festival last summer and I found my favorite barbecue in a town I will likely never get to again. ...sigh...
