NEAREST UNIVERSAL ORLANDO HOLIDAY INN
5605 MAJOR BLVD
ORLANDO, FLORIDA

We are staying here for free (We had 16,000 points and this was 15,000) for one night before spending 8 days at POR. We just want safe, clean and quiet. She says they have IHOP and such nearby, a heated pool, free continental breakfast, and is 15 minutes from Disney. Anyone stay here? Is it safe, clean and quiet?:)

I dropped off and picked up our rental car there when we stayed onsite at Universal. It looks exactly like every other Holiday Inn that I've ever been in. I felt very safe walking back and forth by myself.

The best part is it's right across from Universal's entrance. You can walk to City Walk for food. I think there was a TGIF/Chili's-type restaurant next to it too.

I really wanted to thank SereneOne for posting this question.

We were desperately searching for an off-site hotel to stay at for ONE night before our week-long condo rental.

Seeing this was *perfect* - walking to Universal means NO SHUTTLES and free parking- which is great. And, with so many hotels to choose from, I had no idea even how to tell the difference between them. Getting a half-decent review was good enough for me! And I trust HI Express' completely.

So we booked it for $68/night (advanced payment rate). Very happy to have a 3 star hotel for that rate, as opposed to the 1 star for $52. Was worth the extra money to me!

So, thanks!

So glad a post of mine helped someone!:goodvibes

Please let me know what you think of the hotel since you are going on your trip before me.

We are thinking of staying here again in May when we hit Universal and SeaWorld, if it is a good place to stay.

It sounds like the is the HI Hotel and Suites. Be sure to ask for a complimentary upgrade when you check-in since you're a Priority Club member.

Also, in the past they have had some good packages for US/IOA and SW (I haven't looked lately though).
