My family has been to Disney many times and we all agree that this was the best trip EVER!
This TR has it all – photos, humor, love, drama, fun, abandonment …. But don’t be scared. I know this is a family board and I promise to keep this TR rated G (-ish).
Spoiler – we were not granted any dreams by any dream team members.
Why was it the best trip EVER? Because instead of our usual family of 4 trekking to the World, we were a family of 7! Since I did not do a Pre TR, I’m going to do a little backing up.
I’ve always wanted to try Beach Club, so several months ago, I booked BCV. Then, they announced free dining. Now I am one who LOVES a good deal. How could I miss out on free dining? But staying at BCV, I can’t get free dining. So I decided to book ASMu for 3 nights. I reason with DH – we would be getting our 3 nights for about the same amount of money that 3 days on the dining plan would cost, plus we would be able to save those DVC points for another trip later. Then I called my niece and asked if she and her husband wanted to meet us there. She said yes! :wizard: We always have a good time with them. Our husbands together are a riot. She says they are like peas and carrots. I say they are like beans and franks. (She’s a vegetarian).

Thanks all for coming by! The "lap dance" is the funniest part of the trip, in my opinion. I don't want to give any more spoilers away.
So let me introduce you to the freaks - err cast of characters.
Miz Diz – that’s me. Loves Disney – but you already know that. Usually not a planner, but when it comes to Disney, I plan. I know about 6 months in advance where we are eating, what park we will be at on what day, etc. I am not as bad on the planning as some Dissers I know, but I did bring along a spreadsheet this trip. Usually I bring along post it notes. Did I forget to tell you I am VERY organized?
Mr Diz – my DH. He has a name on the disboards is 999Frights He rarely posts. I invited him to join in on this TR. How else is he going to defend himself? Oh – you are going to hear some great Mr Diz stories. Mr Diz loves the Haunted Mansion and POTC and he loves Disney. He also loves to sing and dance - I never said he was any good, but funny – YES! Mr Diz is OCD – as in has to check everything in sets of 5, as in, has to have everything planned in advanced, as in all the light switches in the house have to be a certain way. When his parents come to visit, he has to tell them what time to get here and what day and time they have to leave. He is not allowed to do that with my family. Just to drive him crazy, I mess with all the light switches in the house. But for some reason when it comes to Disney, he wants no plan. :scared1: Something happens to his OCD. I know – it’s scary!
Funny Mr Diz story – well not so funny to him. When we first got married we were in college. He worked until midnight and I worked until 9pm. Being newlyweds and young, I would actually wait to eat dinner with him. He has to check everything by touch, in sets of 5. The door will be closed, but he still has to put his hand on the doorknob and push that door in 5 times. I would tell him he didn’t have to check the stove, because he could look at the stove and tell it was turned off. But did he listen? Noooo. So one night he did the hand touch on the stove and I had actually cooked that night. It was the last time he ever did a hand touch on the stove.:rotfl2:
Ham Boy – this is my DS6. I would not call him Ham Boy, except for the fact that he told me he wanted to be called Hamster on the Disboards. Why? Because he is 6 and he wants a hamster. Why does he want a hamster? Because he says he wants a pet, even though we have a dog, but apparently she doesn’t count because she won’t fetch and she is old. Ham Boy is very smart and serious, but when it is just the 4 of us, he is quite a ham and funny. He doesn’t like showing this side of him to many people. He went the entire year last year at the bus stop without talking to a single person – including his friends. You know how at Disney, they try to get the kids involved? He won’t ever join in.:sad2:
Baby Girl – DD2. When you ask her what her name is, sometimes she says Girl and sometimes she says Baby. She is the opposite from Ham Boy. High Maintenance, Says “Hi” to everyone in the grocery store, loves to dance and sing. Won’t watch tv because it requires sitting still – but she will watch the Doodlebops and about half of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. At Disney – she likes the characters, but only at a distance, except for the Evil Queen. On our last trip, she was the only character Baby Girl would take a picture with. Baby Girl even talked to her.
Mandy – my niece. Easy going. Will go with the flow. As I said, she is a vegetarian, but because she doesn’t like the taste, so she doesn’t judge the rest of us meat eating people. As a child, I could not understand how anyone could not like McDonalds, but she hated those hamburgers. She is a Dental Hygienist and too busy for the disboards, but I may try to sway her over.
Jason – M’s husband. Very laid back. Funny. Will make fun of you to your face and you will laugh with him. Is getting physical therapy because of knee and hip problems, but yet carried his DD6 all around WDW on his shoulders and even carried my DD2 around.
Princess J – 6 year old princess. She wore a Princess Jasmine costume almost the entire trip. Gorgeous girl. Not a shy bone in her. You know how at Disney, they try to get the kids involved? She always wants to join in.:cheer2:

I say they are like beans and franks.
Ok--I'm trying to read that with my G rated glasses on--but the PG-13 rated ones think it's funny and want to know which one is the beans and which one is the...well, never mind.......:lmao:

I gotta dig through my photos of you all.....
Mr Diz – my DH. He has a name on the disboards, but I can’t remember it. It is not Mr Diz.
Really? Even if mine had an interest--I would discourage it entirely as it's kinda MY WORLD!!" "oh sure honey.....you're welcome to read the posts....today we discussed the merits of potty training by age 2 and the importance of bleach in front loading washing machines.....":lmao: BTW--the bleach idea is great whoever mentioned that!!:thumbsup2
But for some reason when it comes to Disney, he wants no plan. :scared1: Something happens to his OCD. I know – it’s scary!
Mine either--he never wants to jump in and plan prior to the trip but when we are there he will say "oh.....I thought we were going to Bomas.......oh, well, never mind....":headache:
Princess J – 6 year old princess. She wore a Princess Jasmine costume almost the entire trip. Gorgeous girl. Not a shy bone in her. You know how at Disney, they try to get the kids involved? She always wants to join in.:cheer2:

I keep telling him that, too!
Great intros! :thumbsup2 Thanks. I wasn't sure if it was too wordy.
Great family> Are you and your neice close in age? Yes. She is 5 years younger than me. She and my younger brother are only 11 months apart. There is a 20 year span between my youngest sib and oldest sib. I don't know how my parents handled it.
Ok--I'm trying to read that with my G rated glasses on--but the PG-13 rated ones think it's funny and want to know which one is the beans and which one is the...well, never mind.......:lmao:

While I am not OCD, I do tend to get obsessive sometimes. I decided to make Mickey Tie Dye shirts. I made everyone a tshirt and they all came out terrible, so I had to try again. I made everyone a new shirt and they came out great! I spent about 2 weeks tie dying and Mr Diz was getting aggravated about it. I did a total of 20 shirts (good thing I quit my job otherwise when would I have had the time?), 11 of them came out great! (I did go back and try to fix the ones I messed up) They were going to wear these shirts whether they liked it or not!
Here are some photos of the gifts for Mandy, Jason, and Princess J.
You’ll notice the tie dye shirts. I also got them each an Incredible shirt and tiaras! And a lanyard and pins for Princess J. Princess J also got a princess castle that came with 5 princesses that Mr Diz bought her at the Disney Store (no pic of that one).

Yes, it was a lot of work, but so exciting when they came out right.
Did you make the Stitch tye-dye tee?
Yes. I also did Tinkerbell for the girls. For the Tink and Stitch shirts, I printed a picture on cardstock and traced it on the shirt, filling it in with a permanent paint pen, then I tie dyed.

The 7 ½ hour drive was pretty uneventful. We love High School Musical, so we listened to both CDs on the way. Prior to leaving, we learned most of the dance moves to “We’re All In This Together.” On the HSM2 soundtrack, the kids can tell us what number song they want to hear. Baby Girl likes song #2 – Fabulous - and Ham Boy likes the Baseball song – I think it is song #5. Mr Diz likes what he calls the “Angry Troy” song. If you want a good laugh, here is Mr Diz singing in the car. He says when this song comes on, something takes over him like an epileptic seizure.:lmao:
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w120/msmith3405/Dis%20Sept07/th_9.07Dis325.jpg (http://s174.photobucket.com/albums/w120/msmith3405/Dis%20Sept07/?action=view¤t=9.07Dis325.flv)
Once we got to Orlando, we attempted to stop at the Outlet store just by the Bypass and I4, but we couldn’t find a parking space. I did not pack enough shirts with the assumption that I would buy some when I got here, so I was insistent that we stop at the outlets, so we then went to the Premier Outlet. Again had trouble finding a parking space, but finally did. We didn’t spend much here. Baby Girl got an Aurora doll backpack thing and an Aurora tshirt. Ham Boy wanted a Pirate’s Tshirt, but he has several already. He saved his allowance and we threw in some money and told him it was all he had to spend. He could choose what he wanted and we were not buying anything else. He decided he did not want to pay for the tshirt and bought a $5 toy instead. I didn’t get a tshirt.
I wanted to stop by Wal Mart because I wanted to get some finger nail polish remover. You see, I normally would have gotten a pedicure before we left, but since I spent so much time making tshirts, I never did get to the pedicure. I ended up painting mine and Baby Girl’s toes in the car. They looked terrible and I did not pack the nail polish remover. PLUS, someone told me the Wal Mart in Orlando has really good Disney stuff. Mandy asked me to get her family ponchos while we were at Wal Mart because it was supposed to rain all week. We never went to Wal Mart. Mr Diz refused because it took us so long to find a parking space at the Outlets and he was getting tired and hungry.

We checked into ASMu. Our room was so far from the front desk, we were practically at AS Sports - we were in bldg 4. Mr Diz had been complaining about staying here, but when we got to our room, he said it was surprisingly nice.
We left to go to DTD. We had to get our Annual Passes straightened out, they said they expired 9/2, but we bought them this past December. Got that straightened out fairly quickly and then went to eat at Cap’n Jacks. We had ADRs and showed up 5 minutes early, but they were running behind. We waited about 45 minutes for a table. We’ve never eaten here before, but from the dis I read that this is one of the best values on the Dining Plan and you can get lobster. We ordered lobster and it was very good. When we left, we noticed that EVERY table we passed by, had lobster on it. I bet they didn’t serve as much lobster before the DDP. The lobster was very good. Service was not so good. We probably will not return. I don’t even remember what dessert was. While we were eating, Mandy & crew called and said they were coming to DTD to meet us. They checked into a hotel somewhere close by for the night. Disney told them they were booked for the night and could not check them in a day early. This was Saturday night – Labor Day Weekend.
We headed over to Once Upon a Toy. A World Champion Rubiks Cube guy was there. I didn’t take his picture. People were mixing up the cube and he would start a timer and solve it in like 10 seconds. Amazing. I never could do that thing. He told us he was there to promote a new Rubik’s Cube Disney was selling and the cube could only be purchased at this store. I guess it worked because Mr Diz bought one. I asked him if he would have bought it had the Champ not been there and he said probably not.
Mandy, Jason and Princess J arrived. We were standing there talking in the store when Princess J starts screaming. There was a teeny tiny lizard on Baby Girl’s stroller. Jason picked it up and put it on a shirt that was hanging next to him. All I could think is some poor soul is going to pick that shirt up to buy and get a surprise. I couldn’t stop laughing. Mr Diz picked it up and put it on a counter.
Here's the little guy and you can see the Rubik's cube.
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w120/msmith3405/Dis%20Sept07/lizard.jpg
Mandy bought Princess J the Jasmine outfit she would wear most of the trip. We left and agreed to call each other in the morning. Our plan was to be at MK for the little ones extra hours.

I had a plan, I promise I did. It was to be at MK for rope drop. We were there for the Little Ones Travel Time hours only. About 9:30 we were supposed to go to the bakery for breakfast, then head over to MGM because this was the last day for Imagination Movers. Then we would go take a nap and come back to MK for EMH.
As many times as we have been to MK, we’ve only made it to rope drop once before and that was this past spring. It was a madhouse. I was scared for our lives. We were at the front of the rope and as soon as that rope dropped, we were trampled! And we have never seen a “show” or anything like that. I don’t know how we’re missing Mickey Mouse.
We got there about 7:30 and were right at the rope on the right hand side when it happened – our first argument. Yes we argue and then we always laugh about it.
Who’s right? Me or Mr Diz?
Mr Diz: You know we never did get Mandy ponchos like we said we would.
Me: I know. We didn’t get to Wal Mart.
Mr Diz: I’m not an idiot. I know we didn’t go to Wal Mart. Why do you act like I’m an idiot?
Me: (because you are – just kidding) I’m not an idiot either. I know we didn’t get her the ponchos. So you saying that was the same as my Wal Mart comment.
Mr Diz: But I was just making a comment, not trying to say you are an idiot.
Me: Same here. And I have never called you an idiot. You manage to call yourself that just fine.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
After that fine conversation, Mr Diz notices this sign and we agree it is cool. Yes – we did actually agree, without argument.

To the right of me is a lady with the “Best Kept Secrets” document in her hand. I say to her, “You must be a Disser, I have that same list I got off the disboards.” She looks at me and says, “Yes.” Then turns away. I guess she wasn’t into the whole meeting other Dissers thing.

Right at 8:00, I say to Mr Diz, "Get ready for the stampede."
As soon as the rope drops, I have my stroller in position and I’m off! Then we are through the tunnel and I slow down and am amazed. We didn’t get trampled and the people were not crazy. What’s wrong with these people?!!! Don’t they know they are supposed to stampede? Mr Diz makes a comment that people aren’t being crazy and I say, “I know, I took off so fast because we got trampled the last time.”
While we were waiting for rope drop, the CM was telling people they needed to head straight for Dumbo because there would be at least a 2 hour wait the rest of the day. Thanks a lot Mr Helpful. I already knew that, why’d you have to go tell everyone. Now that’s more people we have to beat there.
We get to Dumbo and I think we were on the 2nd round. We didn’t wait that long. While I was on Dumbo, my phone was beeping, so I checked my messages. It’s Dreamn Disney. She is there with her little ones and she has Faolan – one of our Team Focker Watch mascots.
Now Mr Diz already asked me if I planned on meeting any Dissers. I told him no. He really doesn’t want to meet up with anyone. I don’t know why. I really had not planned on meeting her. She was going to leave the croc at our hotel, but she knew I was going to be at MK this morning. I called her back and she was at Winnie the Pooh. Mr Diz took the kids back on Dumbo, while I went to get the croc.
Dreamn is a very nice lady with 2 cute kids. I felt so bad about taking the croc because her little one seemed to be very attached. I thought he was going to cry. But I promised Elisa I would pass the croc to her. Sorry sweet boy! I really hated to take him from you.
Dreamn tells me this is her 3rd time doing the Little Ones hour because there are no lines and it is so much fun.
Here is a photo of Dreamn and family.
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w120/msmith3405/Dis%20Sept07/May07012.jpg
Dreamn was right – no lines. We even got on Peter Pan with about a 2 minute wait. We did Winnie The Pooh twice. It was great.
I went back to my family – by this time Mandy, Jason, and Princess J had joined us. Princess J and Ham rode the carousel with me. Baby Girl did not want to. Being the great aunt and mommy that I am, I got the kids a position right next to Goofy.
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w120/msmith3405/Dis%20Sept07/May07014.jpg
Goofy pointed to my croc and laughed. I asked him if he knew about TFW and he laughed and pointed to the croc again. I think he might have been one of us in disguise, but I’m not sure. He didn’t give me the “Lime Look.”
I do recommend the Little Ones Travel Time for anyone with little ones. There were no lines, and there were tons of characters around. Stitch rode Dumbo with one child. Peter Pan and Wendy were playing with the kids (not mine – remember they don’t want to participate), Goofy rode the carousel, etc. It was a lot of fun.

He did this on the way up and I thought I got a video of him when we stopped to eat, but I couldn't find it. This video was actually taken 9/3 (monday night) in the parking lot of the Grand Floridian - we had dining reservations.

At this point I let everyone know about my plans and I inform them that all though this vacation IS all about ME, I wanted everyone to have a good time. I actually offered them to make some decisions.
Everyone wanted to head over to Splash Mountain. Everyone – except me. I am skerred of Splash Mountain. So I gladly volunteered to stay with Baby Girl.
We don't know those people in the last row - just FYI. They look too normal to be with us.
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w120/msmith3405/Dis%20Sept07/May07021.jpg
We never did eat at the bakery or go to MGM. We ate at Pinocchio Village Haus. Well, I didn’t. I went to the Columbia Harbour House and brought my food over. They have this sandwich that I love – the Starboard Deck Sandwich. While there, this lady was ordering and was being rude to the CM. Kept questioning the CM on what she had on the order. The CM had to read it back to her 3 times. The CM was very nice and smiled. When it was my turn to order, I said to the CM, “I know you can’t say this, but I can. That lady was a real snot.” The CM looked at me and said, “You’re from Georgia, aren’t you?” I guess my accent gave me away. I said yes and she gave me a high five.
Mr Diz got the panini at PVH, but agreed my Starboard was much better. I ended up sharing with him.
After lunch, Jason kept complaining that I didn’t have a good enough plan. I forgot, I had a spreadsheet and handed him his copy. Then I complained that he messed my plan up by showing up a day earlier. My plan was contingent on seeing them tonight. I told him that tomorrow; we were sticking to my plan.
We headed back to the buses. As we waited, I informed them that the plan was to go back to the room and sleep because we were doing EMH tonight and staying out until 1 am. Well, Mandy and Jason’s room was not ready yet. I told the guys they had to go to the bar while the rest of us took a nap. They didn’t complain. Mr Diz was so excited, he flashed everyone by pulling up his shirt and patting himself on the belly – in anticipation of filling it up with some beverages. Yes, Mr Diz is the Flasher, but this is not the only flashing incident. He thinks it is funny to do this out in public and is not ashamed at all. I wish I had taken a picture so that you all could be in on the excitement.
Where'd you take the SM picture?

I think you were so right and I vote twice for you.
If we are there at the same time next year, I have so lost track of who is trying to go when, I will brave it with you. I always want to go then see the drop and chicken out. But I will have to be brave with you or you will make me look bad in your TR.:lmao: :lmao:
I dreamt last night that I was at Splash Mountain and was going to do it and chickened out.
Great updates! :thumbsup2 That lizard was sooo tiny! I didn't get to see a single DISer the entire time we were there. But, my mother got to sit right next to one - and talked to her the entire way - on their flight down. And Mom was not DISer until I started our pre-trip report. Love the Rubik's!! I wish I would have known abot them. I would have picked one up for my son.
I'm going to check your PTR out. They told us that Once Upon A Toy is the only place to get that Rubik's cube.
Sooo cool that your little ones got to ride with goofy!! :goodvibes \
And I bet goofy was a secret diser.
and where did you get that pic from splash! i gotta remember that spot so i can get a good pic of my fam. next time!! :3dglasses
can't wait to read more!
After watching everyong go down the big splash, turn around on the bridge and go to the right. You can get a photo there.
Subbing to yet another addicting TR.
Thanks PAMom
I'm learning so much here! We don't have wee children anymore - but do have DGSs; so the info about early opening of MK is nice to know.
the video is priceless!:happytv:
If your little ones are too small for some rides, ask for a rider switch ticket. The CM usually wants to see the child. They will give you a ticket - most are used like fast passes only there is no time and you can use it with up to 3 people.

I forgot! We had a magical moment before we left MK. :cloud9:
We love to pin trade and I bought a load of pins before we left. Ham Boy really loves to pin trade, but sometimes can be shy about it. I will not approach a CM for him. I tell him if he wants to pin trade, he has to do it and I’m not asking for him. On the way out of MK, he stops a CM and asks to see his pins.
The CM asks Ham if he is a professional pin trader and Ham says yes he is. The CM then asks Ham if he knows about the Cast Lanyard pins. Ham says yes. The CM then asks Ham if he knows about the Pixie Dust pins. Ham says no. The CM pulls out two identical Tinkerbell pins and tells him that it is one for him to keep and one to give to someone else around the park. I say to Ham, “I know who you can give that other pin to.” The CM is looking at me with a smile on his face that says, “Let him have fun with this and don’t steal his pin, lady.” Mr Diz makes some kind of comment about me trying to get the pin from him.
Well let me tell you, I can’t believe they are thinking these thoughts about me. And even if I was thinking this, I have a right to that pin. After all, I bought him the 20 pins he’s using to trade. I gave birth to him and even have the weight gain and scars to prove it. And I changed his dirty diapers for how long? ( A favor he will pay back when I am 90 or so). But no, I was not thinking about myself.
So I say, “There is a certain Princess who is your cousin, you could give that pin to.”
Princess J is on her daddy’s shoulders. I look up at her and point and the CM has a genuine huge smile on his face – it’s like he’s just noticed her and he gives Princess J a set of pins, too.
On the way to the bus, Princess J declares she wants to give her extra Pixie Dust pin to me and hands it to me. What a sweetie! And I hadn’t even given her all her gifts yet.
Jason and Mandy were laughing, saying I really know how to work a deal.
Ham eventually gave me his pin, but I had to give him one in exchange. I left it for Elisa, who was next on the croc exchange list.

After our naps, we head back out to MK. The plan is to stay out until 1AM – closing time.
Our tradition is to wear a Disney shirt every day while we are at Disney. If I even think about not wearing a Disney shirt, I get this long lecture about how I am not a true Disney Fan. When we are on the bus, I notice that everyone has on Disney Gear, except Jason and I point this out to him. He shoots back with, “My underwear has Mickey Mouse on it.” I reply, “That is one thing I don’t want to verify.” :rotfl2:
I recently bought an Unofficial Guide. Typically, I think I know everything I need to know about Disney. In fact, whenever we get into a conversation about Disney with anyone, Mr Diz and I always think we are superior. I thought I would try the Unofficial Guide out – don’t know why – I mean I know everything and what I don’t, I can get off disboards or somewhere off the net. Right? I actually learned some things from the Unofficial Guide and it gave me a tip that practically made the Guide pay for itself. As you know – I LOVE a bargain!
Since we were staying out so late, we decided to get a double stroller for Princess J and Ham Boy. :teacher: The Unofficial Guide recommended scouting out people about to leave and offering about $3 for their stroller. Even I thought $3 was too cheap because the double strollers are $18 to rent. Everyone is doubting me. I don’t know how they can after I got Princess J a set of Pixie Dust pins. It’s about 5:00
Them: No one is going to be leaving at this time.
Me: Not everyone stays for EMH. Just watch. I’ll get us a stroller and I won’t pay $18.
So I walk through the little tunnel area and the stroller return is to our left, when I spot her. A girl who looks about my age and has 2 kids in a double stroller.
Me: Excuse me. Are you about to leave?
Her: (giving me a look that asks, “You’re not some psycho are you?”) Probably soon. Why?
Me: (thinking, well some members of my family would probably tell you I’m psycho over Disney) I was going to offer you five bucks for your stroller.
Her: Get out the stroller kids.
That chic moved faster than the take off on Rock N Roller Coaster and I handed her the 5 bucks. I was happy, she was happy, it was a magical moment. And that is how we became the Buckholtz family.
Yes, our stroller was labeled Buckholtz and we had a lot of fun with that name and called ourselves that the rest of the night.
Next post, some photos.

We got there about 7:30 and were right at the rope on the right hand side when it happened – our first argument. Yes we argue and then we always laugh about it.Better to laugh afterward!
To the right of me is a lady with the “Best Kept Secrets” document in her hand. I love how you went about saving money on a stroller. You are one gutsy lady.
My father taught me to bargain well. When I was little, he would take us to Juarez, Mexico and make us do our own bargaining for stuff we wanted. My grandparents lived in El Paso, TX, so when we visited we would go over there.

We ate at Pecos Bills. Not my favorite CS, but everyone seemed to enjoy it. I had a pulled pork sandwich and it was good. I noticed on the dining plan, all CS are not consistent with the kids meal. It is supposed to be a combo, drink, and dessert. I had 2 places not give me the dessert, which is usually just a cookie and Pecos Bills was one of them. I let the other place get away with it, but not Pecos Bills. Mr Diz placed the order and I held the table. Ham wanted a cookie and I was going to get it for him. I went up to the food pickup area and told them they forgot to give my son his cookie. “Do you have your receipt with you?” she asked. Of course I didn’t. She gave it to me.
We thought Wishes was at 9, but it was at 10. We’re standing around waiting and someone next to us is talking about it starting at 10. We are saying they are wrong and they are saying we are wrong. We looked at our Times Guide and we had one for the week before. We got it at MK this morning – guess they had not put the new ones out. Since I’m rarely wrong, I’ll just let you all know we weren’t wrong, just misinformed. :rotfl2:
We did EMH back in the Spring and it was great – there were no lines for anything. Well, not tonight! We couldn’t get into Buzz because the line was so long, We got into Laugh Floor.
I call this pic, "Girls Gone Wild."
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w120/msmith3405/Dis%20Sept07/girlsgonewild.jpg
That is me in the middle, with the pink shirt on. Mr Diz is to my left. You won’t see me in many pics because I am usually the one taking them.
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w120/msmith3405/Dis%20Sept07/May07035.jpg
Then we watched Wishes. Mandy said that was a GREAT show! We had a great view. We stood on the walkway going into Tomorrowland. Now Goofyluver said in her TR that they watched in the secret TGM area and there was no one around, but I could not figure out where that was. I believe it was somewhere near Tomorrowland. I really prefer facing the Castle straight on. Once I watched Wishes from behind the castle because I heard it was a great view. It is a great view of the fireworks, but you can’t hear the music and Jeminy Cricket that well. I personally don’t think it is the same without seeing Tink and hearing the music. Here's my secret - I get teary eyed every time I see Wishes. Mr Diz was making fun of me. I told him something was in my eye.
After Wishes, we walked over to POTC. On the Way, Aladdin’s Carpet ride had no line and I suggested we go ahead and do it. But nooooo, Mr Diz wanted to do POTC first, then the Carpet Ride. After POTC, the Carpet ride had a line. We skipped it and stopped to get a Dole Whip Float. We think these are so heavenly! We love them. The only problem is that we decided to share 2 among the 4 of us and no one wanted to share with Baby Girl. Mr Diz ended up sharing.

I don’t know if you notice how happy we all look in the background. We laughed and had a good time the whole trip. But when Jason walked up with his Dole Whip Float he says this: Everyone’s tired. Why don’t we just quit pretending to like each other and go back to the room?
We all laughed and I made a comment about how I didn’t think we were pretending and while we are all tired I thought we were having a good time. Are people here not having a good time? Well, too bad! We’re staying until 1 AM!
The "Buckholtz" kids :rotfl2:
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w120/msmith3405/Dis%20Sept07/Buckholtzstroller.jpg
We finished our Dole Whip Floats and walked over to Buzz. Finally - No Line We got right on. We rode it and Mr Diz was so happy because he got his highest score ever! He got 101,000. Then Jason said, “Oh, Mr Diz is mad now.” He saw that I got my highest score ever and it was 134,100. Everyone wanted to ride again and I believe Mr Diz was glad to have another chance at beating my score. But he couldn’t do it. I got over 100,000 again. I don’t know how I did it. When we got off, we noticed it was 12:58. We have 2 more minutes. Maybe we should do it again. The CM says, “You still have 2 minutes, you might as well do it again.” Thanks nice CM, even though you must be ready to get off work now!

Okay, thanks for explaining this. I thought they were supposed to get the 2 sides, plus a cookie -at least that is what they did at Pinnochio's Village Haus. Hmmmm - maybe I ripped them off at Pecos Bills - well maybe not because Princess J only got 1 side, so I guess I just got her second side.

Our entire party makes it to the bus line, it’s about 1:30 am, and there is a bus there with the door open. There is a large (in number, not weight) family in front of us, just standing, not getting on. I have the stroller and look down for a sec. Next thing I know, Mr Diz grabs Baby Girl and runs past the family and gets on the bus. Everyone follows, leaving me with the stroller. The stroller is loaded down with 5 bags and 2 Mickey ear hats. How could they just leave me there? I could understand if Mr Diz got left behind, or even Jason, but ME! I’m like the Queen Mother of the family (except much younger and with much better hair, and obviously no clout.) I’m the one who has been making sure everyone is having fun. Well, at least that’s the way I see it.
I’m struggling with the stroller, trying to get the bags off, trying to hurry before that bus closes its doors with my so called family on it. The Mickey Ears are tangled up. Jason gets off the bus and comes to my rescue. So I thought. He tells me to hurry up and I think he’s going to help me and he does. He got the 2 Mickey Ear Hats off the stroller and then got back on the bus. As he is going through the door, I am running up to the door with the stroller in my hand, trying to fold it as I am running. I can’t get it folded and Jason looks back at me and says in a YOU MORON tone, “You can’t get that thing folded?” I’m like, “NO! We’ve only had it for a couple of months and Mr Diz always folds it.” I seriously can’t get it folded. I still can’t believe my entire family has abandoned me.
Well, I finally get it folded and get on the bus before it takes off. When I got on the bus, Mandy tells me that she asked where I was and Mr Diz said, “I don’t know, but I’m on the bus and ready to go.” I told Mr Diz, "I am sooooooo going to talk about you when we get home."
Mr Diz: You're going to write about this on the disboards, aren't you?
Me: You better believe it.
I’ve invited Mr Diz to give his version. If he doesn’t put in his version, I’ll post it later.
A funny story:
I guess Mr Diz finally got me back. This was years ago and I’ve posted it before – so a repeat for some of you. One hot and humid July day Mr Diz and I were at the mall and we were arguing. I don’t know what we were arguing about. Mr Diz was probably complaining about my cooking or I was probably complaining about Mr Diz’s OCD. Anyway, we were arguing and I do remember people were staring. So I told Mr Diz I was not going to argue anymore and to drop it. He didn’t. So I said to Mr Diz, “If you don’t stop, I’m going to leave.” He didn’t. So I turned around and left. I had the keys to the car and I went home. I figured he would get a cab and go home. Two hours later, I was still sitting at home alone. Then Mr Diz walked in the door. He was sweating and he told me that he walked home. This was about a 4 mile walk. I asked him why he didn’t get a cab and he said he didn’t think about it. Then he told me that the whole time he was walking home, he was wishing he would collapse from heat stroke so I’d feel bad.
Then he said, “I’m not mad anymore. Let’s go back to the mall.” :rotfl2:
So we went back to the mall. I’ve always been worried he was going to get me back one day.:rotfl:

This is Miz Diz's DH. In my defense, I asked the family in line in front of us at the bus stop if they planned on getting on the bus and they said "no hablo english" so I said "I don't roll like that". I had to take action right then and there, see we'd been on the go at the parks for about 17 hrs (minus a trip to the hotel bar in the middle of the day :) ). Once I made it on the bus I looked back and it was only me and Mandy. A few seconds later Jason got on the bus and said "Miz Diz" doesn't handle pressure very well. Jason got off and got back on the bus again - this time holding two hats. Shortly behind him was Miz Diz. With the whole group together we were truely "ready to roll". And I also needed to get back to the room so I could dance to the "Angry Troy" song.
I've only posted twice in my life but I'm guessing that's going to change - I'm going to have to defend myself alot during this trip report.
Next up - The Incredibles & Mr Diz tries to make new friends.

I feel your pain-----unless I am on the DIS (where of course I NEVER mind being corrected about Disney ;) )--I usually feel a sense of superiority among the lesser folk who desire to go to the World.
(do you like being a travel advisor to the lesser folk too? DH asked me to help a coworker take his grandchild on a first Disney trip---and of course, I start spouting about seasons and codes and dining plans and passporters! I will enjoy getting them a good deal tho!)
And--I usually cry at Wishes too and sometimes even at parades!

She's 2 1/2. She'll be 3 end of Jan. You think it is too soon? Her diaper is usually dry in the morning. My ds was already training at this age, but he was in daycare. I remember he was about this age and when he peed in the potty he said, "Mickey Mouse be proud cause I pee peed in potty."
:rotfl2: Sorry it took me a while to get back. Only you really know if she is ready or not. But you know not to compare (hard to do I know). Did you read my final potty training tactic? Where I had to give Brookie a light spanking? But it worked and and she was out of the pullups totally within a few days of that. I'm not promoting the spanking but I knew she was ready and being absolutely positively stubborn and lazy. She needed a little "wakeup call". :thumbsup2
[COLOR="Red"]The stroller is loaded down with 5 bags and 2 Mickey ear hats. How could they just leave me there?I would have screamed at them to get back and help me with the stroller! Or I would have left the stroller, grabbed the bags, got on the bus and told Mr Diz to get off the bus and get the stroller NOW!
A funny story:
I guess Mr Diz finally got me back. .... This is too funny. I can't believe you actually left. I would have threatened but don't know if I could actually do it. Kudos to you for doing it!
And I also needed to get back to the room so I could dance to the "Angry Troy" song. What is the Angry Troy song? I know I am probably missing some big here....:confused3

MR Diz, you need to post more often, I would love a He Said, She Said trippie (and of course video of you dancing to the Angry Troy song:lmao: )
I told him we should do a he said/she said TR, but he tells me he doesn't have time because HE has a job, unlike some other people.:rotfl2:
I sat down, read it all tonight, laughing the whole way. I stinkin LOVE your TR! What a great writing style...you are much too funny Miz Diz. Love it!
:welcome: thanks!
Thanks for the interesting tidbit about Pirates Gift Shop!!
I love the stroller story!!
You are very gutsy and thrifty!! I love it:thumbsup2
How is the potty training going with DD? How old is she?
DD is 2.5 and I think she is going to win this round. I took her to Target and pointed out a bunch of stuff and told her if she uses the potty, I'll bring her back and buy her stuff. Yesterday we went to the American Girl store and she really liked the dolls - although I think she is too young for them. We told her if she uses the potty, we'll buy her one. Then later, she told us she would use the potty so she could get the baby - I thought there was hope. But last night she was telling me she wanted diapers again. Maybe I'll just go buy diapers and try again in a few months.:confused3

Okay, the M&M's & Skittles are not working for us either. :headache: It is turning into quite an ordeal around here. GIRLS!
Pins glorious pins...what a fun extra special surprise...and YOU scored one in the mix. Sweet little niece.:cutie:
I might give up the potty training for a little while.
Sorry it took me a while to get back.
What is the Angry Troy song? I know I am probably missing some big here....:confused3
I really thought she was ready. She is completely dry almost every morning.
The "angry troy song" is "Bet On It" by Zac Efron in HSM2. The video of Mr Diz - he is dancing and singing to that.
All caught up!
I empathize greatly with you; my autistic son has lots of OCD behaviors...
The Little Ones Magic Hour sounds truly magical; I hope they still offer it next year! That was a great shot of the kids on the carousel with Goofy! :thumbsup2
Kathy
This is the 2nd year in a row they've had the Little Ones thing. It is a must do! And they have concerts.
How dare everyone abandon you at the bus stop.
That's what I said!
I don't know the song.:confused3
The song is from High School Musical 2.
Ok finally caught up!

Mandy and Jason have been lurking. Mandy reminded me that while we were at MK EMH, Mr Diz kept saying, “The next few hours will separate the men from the boys.” Meaning who can make it until 1 AM. At midnight he said he was ready to go back to the room and I said, “I guess you are a boy.” :lmao: He says he proved he is a man because he made it until 1.
Since we were out so late, I gave everyone permission to sleep in a little. The plan was to leave for Epcot at about 10:30. I told everyone that today would be our Incredibles day. (No, I’m not bossy). We all had to wear our Incredibles shirts. My family has done this in the past and we always get a lot of attention and free stuff. Ham Boy was selected to help out in the confectionary at MK once and got to make Mickey Head rice crispy treats, we’ve gotten free food and special pins and lots of comments. We have a lot of fun being “The Incredibles.”
My reason for choosing Epcot was this – we had just done MK and MGM and AK had EMH today. I knew I didn’t need to pay TGM to avoid the crowds. Besides, it is Labor Day and everyone is leaving today, so none of the parks should be really crowded. And I was right. Epcot was not crowded. The perfect day to go for just a few hours.
We made it to the bus stop at about 10:30. Maybe a few minutes after. It’s hot and there is a fairly long line for the bus. Guess everyone decided to sleep in today. There is a family of 4 standing a little ways in front of us in line and 2 of them are shading themselves with umbrellas.
Mr Diz walked over to them and stood under the umbrella with the man. The man looked at Mr Diz and Mr Diz said, “It’s really hot.”
The man pointed to the building and said, “You know there is a lot of shade over there.”
Mr Diz said, “Yes, there is.” And continued to stand under the man’s umbrella.
The man said, “I see some other Incredibles over there. Maybe you should go stand over there with them.” The man turned around, trying to get Mr Diz from under his umbrella.
So what does Mr Diz do? He gets under the lady’s umbrella. He said she just looked at him and gave him an evil stare. If it was meant to get him to leave – it didn’t work. So another person in the group said, “You need to get your own umbrella.” And they pulled the umbrella away from him.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I really should have taken a picture, but I was laughing too hard.

When we got to Epcot, I had to stop by Guest Relations to get my DDE card. Of course, Mr Diz did not bring his ID with him. He also did not bring his Disney Visa card so that we could get in the Disney Visa Character Greet line. :sad2:
When we travel “the World” I have all the bags, but Mr Diz keeps all the room keys. I never have an ID or credit card on me. He knows he is the keeper of the cards. But never fear, Mr Nice CM gave me my DDE card, even though I couldn’t prove who I was. pixiedust: He looked at me like I was crazy when I told him we had nothing but our room keys to prove who we were. We always charge everything to our room, I tell him.
We walked through the gates and it is approximately 11:30. We all agree that it is about time that they refurbished Spaceship Earth and they really need to do something to step it up with that attraction. We also all agree that the entrance looks terrible ever since they added those towers with people’s scary pictures on them.
First stop – we send the guys to get FPs to Soarin’ while we get in line for the Character meet and greet. Only the character meet and greet line is too long and we were not going to wait 45 minutes. So we waited for the guys. Jason laughed as he complained that his knee and hip are bothering him and Mr Diz said his back hurt, but we sent them to walk the furthest to get the FPs.
After getting FPs, we headed over to Mexico to get some lunch. I’ve read bad reviews on this CS, but Mr Diz and I really like it. Mandy and Jason both liked it, too.
After eating, we stopped at the baby care center, then walked over to Test Track. Mr Diz took Baby Girl to the dump off gift shop. Test Track said it had about a 20 minute wait, but we waited about 10. While standing in line, they show videos of crashes and crash tests. Well, this really worked Princess J up. We kept telling her it wasn’t a scary ride and she would think it was fun. We got in the little Pre ride room, where they show a video of the tests you will be doing on your Test Track Vehicle. Princess J freaked out and kept saying she didn’t want to ride and was crying. She and Jason exited, while Mandy, Ham Boy, and I rode. I didn’t ride this one the last time we visited. I forgot how much fun it is to go around that track so fast!
When we got off the ride, I stayed with Baby Girl while Mr Diz and Jason took Ham Boy back on the ride. While they were riding, I tried out the Saab convertible. Wish I could have taken it for a real spin.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w120/msmith3405/Dis%20Sept07/DashatTT.jpg
Next, we went to Mission Space and rode the Green side. It was a walk on. Mr Diz and Jason stayed behind with Baby Girl. Then we headed over to Soarin. We used our fast passes, but also asked for a child swap pass. The CM gave us a child swap pass, plus she gave us a card for Baby Girl to use when she is tall enough for Soarin. She told us when Baby Girl is tall enough, bring the card and the entire party gets to go on through the Fast Pass line.
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w120/msmith3405/Dis%20Sept07/borntosoar.jpg
We all did Soarin’, then it was my turn to stay with Baby Girl while Mr Diz got a chance to ride. Incidently we got the 3rd row and so did Mr Diz.
Mandy wasn’t really feeling so good at this point and I was ready to go myself, but Mr Diz wanted to hang around. There was no line at the Nemo ride, so we might as well go. If there’s no line – you have to take advantage of that, right? Even if you aren’t feeling so great.
This is the only picture I could get on the ride.
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w120/msmith3405/Dis%20Sept07/Jinclamshell.jpg
Then we did Turtle Talk with Crush and that was a lot of fun. We finally left, but on the way out, we passed 2 CMs with pins, so of course we had to do some pin trading. The CMs were from the Dream Team.
On the way out, we took this photo.
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w120/msmith3405/Dis%20Sept07/Incredibles.jpg
We did not get any special attention from wearing our Incredibles shirts. We couldn’t believe it. I guess Epcot is not the place to be super heroes.
Next up – Dinner with Cinderella at the Grand Floridian Café.

We were on the DDP while staying at Music, but got the DDE for the rest of our stay and future stays. We had the DDE last year and I think it expired in April. The DDE gets you 20% off most Table Services and some CS. AK is the only park that will give you the 20% off at a CS b/c they don't offer a TS. That will probably change with the opening of Yak & Yeti. You can use your discount at the food courts at the values and I think also Port Orleans.

great update. I like the card they gave for Soarin'.
The only reason I could think you didn't get any attention is because so many families do that. When we were there we must have seen 20 or more families a day all dressed up like each other with Disney shirts. Maybe they r catching on or they were just nasty CM's and didn't want to give you anything. :rotfl2: you should have shown them the video from the car, they would have refunded your tickets for making them have such a good laugh.

My husband has been looking over at me and shaking his head as I burst out laughing at your trip report. When I played the video of Mr Diz dancing in the car my girls had to come over and check it out. They started singing with the video - they love HS Musical.
I'm now subscribed to so many trip reports that I'm having a hard time keeping them all straight in my head. I'm loving it though.
I've promised myself that I'm going to do a trip report for my next trip. My hubby said he will have to buy me a little bitty recorder so that I can talk into it as we go thru the day ... "It is 10:15 we are in line for Peter Pan...It is 10:17 we are still in line for Peter Pan, there is a fat sweaty man behind us...It is 10:27 we are going to the bathroom...It is 10:29 we are done with the bathroom..." We didn’t get a nap and Baby Girl did not want to put on her Cinderella dress. But I made her anyway. :teeth: We drove to the Grand Floridian. Princess J had on her dress and her hair looked perfect. Mandy was up every morning fixing Princess J’s hair. I’m not so good at doing the girly hair, but I do try.
As we were driving over, I’m thinking this is going to be the one time I get Baby Girl’s picture with some characters. WRONG. She was so scared. Even of Prince Charming.
The Cinderella's Gala Feast is usually at 1900 Park Fare, but it was being refurbished, so this is at the Grand Floridian Cafe. We all agreed the food was very good. I can’t remember what I ate. I do remember for dessert, it was an assortment of mini desserts and bread pudding. We loved the bread pudding and the chocolate dessert on the mini dessert tray. The key lime pie was yuck!
Baby Girl did not want to take any pictures, but I made her do that, too.:)

Here’s Ham Boy with a look that says, “My mommy made me do this.” And Fairy Godmother has a look that says, “Another brat, another picture. Hurry up and take the darn photo!”

nice job, I am suprised that she did not want pics with the princesses, I can see some of the other charaters, as they can be scary for little ones, but the princesses, at least you can see there face and they like mostly normal.

You still have me intimitated about doing a tr of my own but I'm taking notes.;)
Or...maybe I could just send you my notes and you could build a tr for me!:surfweb: What a deal!:flower3:
He's been busy getting ready for Uni but he pops in now and then. I'll send him a linky;)
Uhhh - Maybe we can make a deal. I'll do your TR if you come over and take care of my 2 kids. Did I mention Baby Girl is in the middle of being potty trained? Sounds like a fair swap - write your TR for some potty training. :rotfl2:

To the right of me is a lady with the “Best Kept Secrets” document in her hand. I say to her, “You must be a Disser, I have that same list I got off the disboards.” She looks at me and says, “Yes.” Then turns away. I guess she wasn’t into the whole meeting other Dissers thing.
I had the same thing happen to me! I walked away a little embarrassed that I had even tried to make contact. :confused3

1. Your tiedyed shirts are the best I have ever seen. You did an AWESOME job!!!
2. The video of Mr. Diz dancing in the car is heeeeelarious! :rotfl2:
3. The umbrella story! :lmao:

5. I got a shout-out about my TGM spot! It's more near Cosmic Ray's. It's not straight on...but slightly to the right of the castle. It was awesome if anyone would like to go there!

I can't believe Mr Diz did that to the people with the umbrella. I think I would've been in shock and then laughed about it later.
The CS (Cantina San Angel) at Mejico is the good one, it's the TS (San Angel Inn) that a lot of people have been giving bad reviews. They both have pretty much the same name though, guess they were too tired to differentiate the names.
You guys rocked those Incredibles T's though. :thumbsup2

I am trying to assume that she was not a real Disser. Maybe just a lurker who asked for the document through email. She did not have a LGMH on or anything that identified her as a disser - just the document. Did your person have a LGMH? Maybe they were forced to wear it by a crazy disser significant other.:rotfl2:
Oh my gosh - what fantastic pictures, especially the one of Princess J and Cindy! :goodvibes

I will confess. That wasn't me. Okay - it was.
Mr Diz has absolutely no Southern accent. His family is from Illinois, but he was born in Florida and they moved to SC when he was 4. I used to have a really really bad Southern accent. So bad, in fact, that when I went to college, my father told me I needed to take speech therapy because no one would hire me with this accent. So I married Mr Diz instead of doing speech therapy. And it worked. I tell everyone how I no longer have an accent because of Mr Diz. Mr Diz just shakes his head and says, "Babe, you have a Southern accent and it's noticeable."
I think he's wrong. See above - I have some people to back me up. (Thanks TE and Dismom.)
Oh wait - maybe I do. I just remembered how that cashier at Columbia Harbour House knew I was from Georgia.:sad2:

It’s Tuesday, Sept 4. The plan today was to get up and be at Animal Kingdom at 9am. But we have to check out of ASMu and go over to Beach Club Villas. We packed the room – mostly – the night before. Were rudely awaken – thanks Stitch. Got our stuff packed and headed on over. We got to BCV at about 8 am. When we drove up, the valet came over and took our luggage. I think we had like 30 pieces. Oh wait – sorry that would have been Dland Mama’s luggage. We had about 6 pieces of luggage and they took it back to the storage area so we could enjoy our day. Then we went to go check in.
Mary Poppins must have been our check in Cast Member because she told us she already had a room waiting for us and we can go ahead and get in now. But there is a problem - it’s a wheelchair accessible room and she doesn’t think it has a tub. Oh, well we don’t think we can do that because Baby Girl will be screaming if we put her in a shower and the tub would be much easier for us. CM Mary Poppins did something with her umbrella and said, “I belive it now has a tub.” Well almost. In our discussion, she said she could be wrong, it may have a tub and why don’t we go check it out. If we don’t like it, we can come back and get another room assigned.
So we make it up to our room – 4th floor and it did have a tub. It was great with a balcony facing Epcot. We called down for our luggage and they said they have never had anyone check in and get a room at 8am. We waited for the luggage and for some reason, Baby Girl needed to be cleaned up. I don’t know what she’d gotten into, but she’s 2 so it could have been anything. When we used the sink, it was leaking. So when they brought the luggage up, we pointed out the sink and he said he would make sure maintenance fixed it. Later, when we got back to the room it was fixed – they replaced the entire faucet.
We headed out and got on the bus at about 8:40. When we got off the bus, we called Mandy and Jason and they had just walked through the gate, they would wait up front for us. It was right after 9:00, maybe about 5 minutes after.
We walked through the gates and saw the talking tree and this lady.
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w120/msmith3405/Dis%20Sept07/AKtalkingtreecopy.jpg
Then we headed over for the Safari ride.
We didn’t get very good pics here. In fact, I only have 3, all with Ham in them and no animals.
I was really disappointed with the Safari ride. We saw animals, but not as many in the past.
After the Safari Ride, we decided to head over to Asia. Mandy and Jason did not want to walk any of the trails to see the animals. On the way to Asia, the kids decided to make some noise.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w120/msmith3405/Dis%20Sept07/Jdrums.jpg
Then we ran into a freak.
Yes, it is DeVine. She is super creepy. None of the kids would take pictures with her.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w120/msmith3405/Dis%20Sept07/Devine3.jpg
Then we took a photo of all of us. I prefer this photo with the Tree of Life. It is on the backside, on your way from the Safari to Asia. You don’t get other people in your background.
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w120/msmith3405/Dis%20Sept07/Treeoflife.jpg
After our great photo opportunities we headed over to the Kali River Rapids. I stayed with Baby Girl while everyone else rode. Then Jason and Mr Diz stayed with Baby Girl while I got a chance to ride.
As we walked away from the ride Mr Diz said, “I think I need a lap dance.”
Warning – you may need some Depends on hand for my next post as you witness the lap dance.
