On another forum I just read that a gal was at the gangplanck ready to get off to go to CC and she needed her birth certificate, ID's, passport, if you have one, and etc. I have not read this before.
Do you need all these documents when getting off at CC.
Thanks.

Every time you reboard the ship, DCL checks your photo ID and KTTW card, even on Castaway Cay.

yes, we needed photo ID, every time leaving and boarding the ship, even at CC

Just to clarify... you need to have a certified birth certificate and photo identification OR a valid passport to check in for your cruise. Once you've checked in, you can leave the BC and/or passport in your room safe. All you need is a simple photo ID (your driver's license) and your Key to the World (KTTW) card when you leave and reboard the ship.

Dave,
Will you need the BC to enter or exit Cozumel?? or Grand Cayman?

Is the photo ID at CC something new? On our last cruise(10/00), we only got off the boat at CC. I only remember needing to bring my KTTW card, not my lisence too.
Thanks for posting about this, I would have left it in my stateroom. :)

Our driver's licenses (NJ) don't have pictures.
Does this mean we really need to walk around with our passports?

NO Sheree, I asked this question to a supervisor at DCL, just last week and they said that the ship knows which states do not have photos on there ID's and that it is not a problem if you are from one of those states. As long as (at inital check in) you driver's license, birth cert (or passport) and the reservation all match, there will be no problem. You would still only need your DL and KTTW card, to get off and reboard on the islands :).

Keep in mind that whatever they let you off with is what you'll need to return. So, you won't get stranded unprepared off the boat! When we got off, a picture ID (DL) and KTTW card was what we needed. The same wheb we returned.

THanks!
THe DL fits in the waterproof wallet, the passport wouldn't!!
NJ is changing and eventually we'll need pictures on our DL's which is a good thing!
As for matching, the only issue is my drivers license has my name as Sheree I. Smithjones vs the passport as Sheree Smith Jones.
They couldn't deal with my name not being hypenated! But the smith and jones are both on my passport and all together on the dl so I should be ok.

I assume only the adults need photo id after check-in? To get on and off the boat? The only photo id i have for my two boys 8 and 5 are their passports.
