Does anyone have a picture taken from your seat inside the Terror of Terror looking out into the parK?

I know some people have gotten good ones, but I only got a junky one last WDW trip (using a 100% manual lens and didn't have time to fix exposure) and at DL, ToT is the only ride that forbids all types of photography.

Here's what I've got. Click on the picture to link to my smugmug site. From there, you can download a high resolution copy. It's a bit noisy. If you need it for something with high standards, let me know and I'll clean it up a bit.

I have a few others taken during the ride.

Wow! Thanks Mark! You have some really great shots. This is my favorite ride but I am too busy holding on to take pic's :rotfl:
I am also looking for a picture taken from the seats to the outside looking through the Hollywood Tower sign. I know, I'm asking for alot.

Isn't this what you're looking for? I pointed the camera in front of me and took the shot when the doors opened, just before we dropped. It's not a great shot, but it's a view from the window at the top of the ride.

If anyone is considering doing something like this, I would recommend that you take a few precautions. First, have a good hand strap or wrap your neck tightly around some part of your body. Dropping a camera on that ride is a good way to get someone (probably you) hurt. Second, don't hold the camera up to your eye unless you want to get smacked in the face when the ride makes a sudden move.
For those wanting to experiment with the behavior of objects on this ride, I've been told that you can have fun with a coin in the palm of your hand. On my amusement park drop rides, if you set a penny on your palm, the penny will float just above your hand during the fall. On the ToT, you don't actually fall. Instead, the elevator drives you down, often at speeds faster than a freefall. If you have a coin on your hand, it won't just float. Instead, it will shoot up towards the ceiling because the ride car is moving down much faster than a falling coin. The downside is that it will eventually fall and probably smack someone on the head. A dime might be a better choice if you can spare the extra nine cents because it will hurt less on the noggin that it lands on. Of course, I would never actualy do anything like this. I'm just talking about a theoretical experiment. However, if you find any loose change on the ride, well, I seemed to have misplaced a few coins.

Yes and no. I think your shot is great but I'm looking for a shot through the wording of the hotel sign where you can actually see the writing. Hope that makes sense. Last month we rode it 5 times and only looked through the wording on two trips.
And I have to comment on the stuff floating upwards. I put my backpack on the floor with the strap over my knee. It "floated" up and whacked me in the face:laughing: I make sure I keep it under my arm now.

I've been on that ride well in excess of 20 times and I never noticed the letters from inside before. Looking a picture of the exterior, I can see how you would see them, but I never noticed.

Thank you! This is just what I was looking for. There is also a view looking through the word 'hotel'. I guess it justs depends on which side your elevator goes and what your sequence is. That's one of the things that make the ride so exciting - you never know what you're going to see when the doors open!

OT but I couldn't resist in light of the conversation on this thread.
This clip of Howie Mandel's preview ride on Disneyland's ToT always cracks me up: :rotfl2:

A different view taken when we were stuck at the bottom of the ride. Lots of interesting stuff in that room. :lmao:

Funny story about looking out the opening. A few years ago I was riding and when the door opened there were 3 REAL people out on the ledge! :scared1: They turned around and looked at us and did a spooky wave.
Well there were people taking their first ride and they thought that was part of the attraction. I found out later that CM's were out there adjusting the camera that takes the photos. :rotfl:

how exactly does one wrap their neck tightly around some part of their body..???
the trick to taking pics on wild rides is to hold the camera firmly against your face, that way there is no banging..

LOL :rotfl2: We did this too with much the same result! Trying to catch the coin was "interesting"
BTW, great shots there Mark!
