I'm looking for a really good Point & Shoot for our Disney trips. I am looking at either of these. I may lean towards the 800 because it has a wider lens which is handier with group shots and panorama shots. Any opinions? Experiences?? TIA :goodvibes

I chose the SD850 (called the SD700 back when I bought it) since I personally felt I would use the increased zoom more than a wider angle that the 800 offers.

It has everything I expected for a digital camera of that type (point and shoot, compact size). I knew up front that, unlike with a (larger) dSLR, I would have to use a tripod and restrict myself to still subjects if I wanted good low light pictures.

This probably varies from one camera to another even of the same model but mine has a slight softness in one corner of pictures at the widest angle, and also some reviewers of the Canon SD models with the extra wide angle reported corner softness at or near the widest angle setting.

Thanks for the quick reply. Reviews I've read make it seem like the 850 might not be that great for group shots or scenic shots (the 800 having the wider lens). How is the picture quality?? Are you pleased??
