How do you say it?

Ok, so I am clearly pretty new to the board (and am about to demonstrate my ignorance, so forgive me).

DH and I disagree on how you pronounce "DIS" (yeah, as in DISboards...). Is it pronounced "Dis" as in "Disney", or dee-eye-ess. DH says since it is capitalized, they must be initials (standing for what??) and therfore it must be spelled. I just thought it was short for Disney! :confused:

Can anyone enlighten me (after you have stopped laughing, I mean). :laughing:

Now you've given me something ELSE to add to my list of "things I'm not really sure of". I always refer to it as "DIS"--as in "Dis"...the first syllable of Disney..I am hoping that someone in the know can give us the right answer...:goodvibes

Well, I always said it as "diz" boards. But I honestly don't know if there is an official answer--I amsure someone with many more posts than I will know!! ;) Deb

I always say "diz"....like the sound the beginning of "Disney" makes...

I say Diz as well... saying D. I. S. makes it more of a mouthful.

If you listen to the podcasts hosted by the owner and founder of the boards he pronounces it DIZ, like the beginning of DISney. Since it is his board, that is the official answer.
