Hi Kirsty,
When we were there in December we could not use chip and pin due to being from the UK (international accounts rather than US) so you should have no worries :thumbsup2
Have a great trip.

In the past 12 months we have been in US for 60 days using credit cards every day. Only once have I been asked for pin, that was in BK north international drive.
In 14 years of visiting Florida this is the only transaction wanting a pin, many want ID so I always carry my pink driving card.
They will eventually move to it I think but who knows when?

I think the US use a completely different chip and pin system so a UK card doesnt work anyway.
I always use my credit card (which has got a chip and pin) and they always ask me to sign. As the other posters says, they do sometimes ask for other id if the amount is high.

Their system must be compatible with ours as the one time we were asked to enter it in BK IT worked no problem.
ID is needed more than ever now as many places you don't even sign for transactions. I would say 75% last month were not signed for. Some shops its any transaction over $25 others its $50 before you have to sign. Something I don't agree with as sometimes they don't ask for ID, PIN or signature. I think you should be asked for minimum of one of these preferably 2 every time.
