I'm planning our very 1st trip to Disney in October... I know, I'm trying to hurry and organize all I can... but have a question regarding tickets. I have Disney Reward Dollars from our Visa and understand I can't use those dollars unless I get tickets directly from Disney. My question is this... is there or will there be a price difference of ordering them online through Disney vs. getting them at the gate when we arrive?

All of you have really helped plan this hurried trip and I appreciate all advice so much! Thanks!

Hi

You can usually get a small price break by buying before hand, plus you don't have to wait it the line to purchase tickets at the gate. The Disney Stores still sell a small variety of tickets, you could check with them before you go and see if they have the type you need. Typically the store sells 2 or 3 different length tickets. Hope this helps!:)

it is always cheaper to buy your tickets before you go, either online or by calling disney. you can also get them at the Disney Store. Tickets are more at the Gate.

While that used to be true I am almost positive that when Disney raised the ticket prices this summer they also did away with the advance purchase discount for most tickets.

This is from the Mousesavers newsletter that I received when the price increase was announced:

No more advance purchase discounts on 4-Day and longer tickets. This makes the increase on 4-Day and longer tickets even bigger. Example: right now the price of a 7-Day Magic Your Way Ticket with Park Hopper is $264.12 when purchased in advance from Disney . After the price increase, the direct-from-Disney price for the same ticket will be $281.16.

I have not actually done the math to compare prices on the tickets to make sure this is true, but they are generally quite reliable.
